Marking and reserving :D

Also, by dreams, do you mean a dream they once had, or something they dream of doing/owning?

name
Adair
Adair's name means strong, powerful, which doesn't embody him at all. I thought giving him a name that didn't quite represent him would be interesting, because most people have to grow into their definitions, and it would create a goal for him, to grow as a person.
gender
male
dream
Adair dreams every night, always the same. It would be a lie to say it doesn't get boring, but he's gotten used to it. It wasn't always like this, this dream. Sometimes, he can remember, reach back into the depths of his mind and bring forth some old dream, but as always his dream returns. He can't say what really triggered it, the dream, but there it was, this dream like an instant replay. He supposes it would be bearable if there was even some substance to the dream, if something happened. Nothing ever changes though.
He's swimming, treading smoothly through water that feels like silk against him. Maybe it wasn't water, but it was glorious. The sun was hot on his back as it began to dip below the horizon, but the water was cool. Below him, the dark, midnight of it all just goes on forever. Darting around his feet, flitting, fleeting, fluttering, are these little jellies. Glowing, pink, purple, indigo, soft orange, like the sunset over-head sunset. Bright, vibrant just like the spritz of a peeled orange; vivid. And it's all he can see, these creatures. They entrance him, steal him away.
At first he longed to lounge in the water forever, but as the nights went on he realized how great a possibility that was; Adair has sleep apnea, an illness that can stop him from breathing during the night. There is a small, but ever present risk of death, of spending eternity in the water. The thought is not a welcome one as the years go by. He must already spend his nights with these creatures, and the thought of forever...its horrifying. So sometimes Adair doesn't sleep or rather, most of the time.

*told from his perspective*
I have this dream, the same dream, over and over again. Sometimes it's a bit different, sometimes there's more clarity in things that were previously vague; sometimes there is something new, a detail that I never noticed before, though I feel I should have. The dream always feels real, always. What is the dream, you ask? I'm in the ocean and it's nighttime, the ocean is as dark as ever; but as I dive deeper in the depths of the ocean, I find that the ocean isn't growing darker the further I descend, they're getting lighter. Lighter and lighter, and I start seeing pinpoints of light twinkling in the midnight blue depths of the ocean, like shining stars on the midnight blue blanket of the night sky. The depths aren't making me feel claustrophobic and scared like they usually do, I feel like instead of diving down to the confining and mysterious depths, I'm actually diving up to the surface, but I know I can't possibly be.
Then I breach the surface, to my surprise, but I'm not in the same ocean anymore, I'm somewhere else. Liking diving under has brought me to an ocean on the other side of the earth.
As I stare up at the night sky, I swear I see stars shooting by, as if welcoming me to the surface on the other side of the ocean. Everything looks so vivid and colorful as I look around and sometimes I see stars shooting by. Then a light appears, it's like a little glowing bubble with a aura of light around it, I'm entranced by it and follow it as it bobs away towards the land.
After following it for quite some distance, it seems to dance and then it disappears, leaving me lost and all alone while everything around me seems to gradually fade into darkness around me until everything it dark. The same dark that I'm used to seeing my world every single day.
Image
Personality
Ayumu is a daydreamer, a wisher upon shooting stars. He is ever the optimistic, always trying to find the bright side to life, especially since everything in his world is dark when he opens his eyes. Though he holds some bitterness about being blind, instead of being angry about it, he tends to make a joke out of it. Though he is physically cautious, he can be rash mentally in make decisions, often jumping into things in the thrill of the moment and without really thinking thing through what he's doing much further than his own enjoyment.
He has a tendency to get stuck in his "dream world," not wanting to face reality often times. He tries more than anything to avoid it, which often causes him to run into many issues.

dream ;;
Every night, my dream starts the same way...A long, wholesome darkness as my mind transitions from the physical world to the world of dreams. At some point, I become aware of a strange twinkling sound and the feeling of grass beneath my paws. It is then I am gripped with an overwhelming desire, no, need for light. It's as though the darkness itself is pushing down on me, threatening to suffocate me in a void of nothing. My life is in danger, and all that can save me is a small glimmer of light.

I get my wish.

The whole world instantly comes to life. An army of stars appear boldly against a moonless sky. To my side, a pool of water gives off a mysterious green glow. However, all of these pale in comparison to the luminous fireflies that hang freely overhead. It is strange to think that these tiny bugs create such a feeling of awe, but so is the magic of dreams. Such a calm, placid atmosphere this land has, yet, gazing across the near featureless grassland, a pang of loneliness hovers dangerously near. I think about how nice it would be to have even just one tree to break the purple monotony, when a truly marvelous thing happens. The brightness of one of the fireflies increases to an almost unbearable level, obscuring my view for a brief moment. When the light dims away, in the firefly's place is, much to my wonder, a single tree. Intrigued, I try thinking of another object, this time a stony hill. A second firefly begins to grow brighter, and in my temporary blindness I feel the ground changing beneath me. As my vision returns once more, I find myself standing upon the edge of a hill, exactly as I had pictured in my mind's eye. Suddenly, I come to the realization that this is not a mere alien planet, but my own boundless world where the hardships of my physical life don't matter. It is a blank canvas and I am the artist, free to paint my own creations into existence. For every firefly I use, three more come to replace it, so I need not fear of running out of paint. My only limitation is, quite literally, the sky. Dreams only last until morning, and so too does my time in this curious world. As the sun begins to rise here, a final blinding light appears and my vision fades to white, staying there until I awake.

Yet, I don't feel sad to leave my small paradise. I've had this dream enough times to know that I shall return to it every night without fail, ready for me to unleash my imagination on it.

Hi, i'm mango sherbet. This is the first Mako i've ever tried out for, and I appreciate the opportunity to win her!
      name✧
I've decided to go with the name Haumea [ha-may-uh], which is actually a dwarf planet. There's no real significant reason for why I chose that name, other than that I think it suits her and the color of the planet also matches her eye color.
      gender✧
Even though this Mako is fairly androgynous and I can definitely see it as a male, I chose to go with female. Why? Well, the thoughts of possible traits that came to me when I looked at her were more feminine than masculine, and, in all honesty, I think female suits what I have in mind for her much better.

Image

      dream✧
The first time Haumea had the dream, she woke gasping for air. Over time, though, her distress lessened, and her curiosity intensified.
Though she never remembered having previously experienced the dream while she was having it, some inkling of what she had already learned implanted itself in her mind, and so every time she woke up she realized she had discovered something new about it.
It was, after all, quite a strange dream, with many things to investigate. And despite Haumea's inquisitive nature, she found herself frequently overwhelmed by the dream. After waking, she would slowly recover, running the newest findings over in her head.
The dream was always the same. It began and ended the same way. There wasn't anything particularly stressful or exciting about it. It was mostly the environment that amazed Haumea to no end.
The conditions were confusing, to say the least. The gravity was skewed, skewed in such a way that Haumea wasn't sure which way she was being pulled- perhaps the gravity was so strong and coming from so many directions that she was being yanked around, or maybe it was so faint that she was floating. It was difficult to tell, because the strength of the scene made her eyes water and her head pound.
A strange substance clung to Haumea. At first, she had thought it was the sea, but closer inspection prove that it was actually semitransparent and resembled something like the sky- in fact, if asked to describe it, the only way she could would be as liquid sky. The substance was light and airy, yet definitely had a presence. Clinging to Haumea, and bobbing along the surface of the sky-liquid, were glowing stars, little specks of light and heat that pulsed with energy. They were so searingly hot that in normal circumstances Haumea would have been burned by each of their tiny pricks- but, in the usual, bizarre nature of the dream, they were simply there, and though she could feel the heat, it didn't affect her.
In contrast, a burning heat came from two very odd glowing orbs that, unlike the stars, weren't confined to the sky. They bobbed along in a slightly intimidating way, giving off a searingly bright light and an insane heat. They seemed almost like part of the landscape, rather than a separate component. It added to the mystery of this pointless dream.
Stretching above her head, like a dome, was the strangest cloud Haumea would ever encounter. It was full of tunnels and twists that seemed to go on and on in every direction. They looked heavy, like storm clouds, but their odd greenish color suggested they were more like seawater than rainwater.
And perhaps the oddest bit of the dream... there was no sound, at all. Considering it was a dream, it wouldn't ordinarily be so surprising, but Haumea always dreamed in sound and color and feeling- vivid dreams, realistic dreams.
For a while, she never noticed the lack of sound- her mind filled in the gaps for her; the splashing of the sky-sea; the humming of the stars. And then she realized it, and never remembered that she hadn't; it was as familiar to her as anything else.
Every night the dream came, and every night Haumea explored it with the same probing curiosity and alarm as previously. There was nothing to suggest a reason or meaning within the dream, and the only powerful emotion she felt was extreme helplessness.
She didn't want the dream, but she didn't necessarily dislike it, either. It simply existed, and she felt like there was nothing she could do about it other than keep on dreaming.

"Hello I'm Dave Egbert but for simplicity's sake please feel free to call me Dave. I've tried out for two other Makoatl's in the past but was so swamped by the "impress me" catagoys that I just couldn't keep up. When I saw this guy I knew I had to at least try one more time."
    Name:
"When I first laid eyes on this guy the first word that came to mind was Trinity. It was absolutely the perfect name for him and despite not being religious, I still think it fits him very well."
    Gender:
"Despite his feminine colors Trinity is, in fact, male."
    Dream:
It always starts the same way.
I'm falling into an abyss with nothing but the feeling of wind on my fur and absolute darkness all around me. I can't breath. I can't smell, hear, taste... It's all just gone. Everything that I was, am, it's nothing in the deep darkness of the abyss I travel through.
As suddenly as it comes, it ends in a flash of light.
I'm no longer breathless. No longer without smell, hearing or taste. A vast field of white sand rolls leisurely with the tide, the shore nowhere to be seen nor any coral reef or man-made water-vessel which I despise. It's the type of water you'd swim in for hours without a care, the sun beating down on your back from above and the warm sand beneath your toes... It is perfection. My heaven, though it lasts for less than I wish it to.
I'm swallowed up into darkness again. Breathless. Turned around and falling again without the ability to even scream. Stars pass as I fall faster and like before, it ends.
I stand, head spinning as I look around. I stand on an expanse of white foam that sticks to my legs while the sky above is as dark as the night. Little stars drip slowly from the night sky and cling to my fur, a string of them slipping around my neck as if to embrace me. I welcome them, and they warm my heart and remind me of home. The soft bed that awaits me and the comforting lull of the sea waves is what I find in them as they glow and resonate with my desire for my comfort place...
The stars awake me and I blink, staring at the home I've had for quite some time. The dream ends just as abruptly as it starts, but I can't make myself hate the dream, nor can I say I love it. It's like it's a part of me. Something that I'll always have with me in my mind and in my heart.
I wouldn't want to dream any other way than breathless and alive.
    Extra:
"I'm making artwork to go here, but it's a wip so check in later!"

Dropping out >w< I like him quite a lot, but I think others deserve him more than me.
