dangit memphis wrote:username:: dangit memphis is my current username. uvu I am a non-owner who is hoping to make this lovely girl her first. With that being said, this is actually my first attempt at trying to win a Psuedodragon, so if I win her, this will be especially memorable.
why do I want her:: Well, there are many reasons why I want this lovely lass. But to start this off, I'd just like to let you know that I only try out for characters I think I can feel a connection with. And boy, do I feel a connection with this girl. She's a lovely character with a beauteous design and loads of personality in those green eyes of hers. The fact that she's from China - a country I'd love to visit someday - makes her all the more appealing, considering that leaves open many opportunities to develop her character.
Her design is simple, yet elegant. It is very easy for me to replicate, and that causes her to stand out to me. You see, none of my characters are what you would consider "complicated." I make them very simple, as I tend to get bored and frustrated with colouring complex designs. So when I saw this girl, you could imagine my delight. Finally, a Psuedodragon I'd taken interest in!
However, I'm what you would call a "procrastinator". I waited until today to start my form - an extremely poor choice on my part, seeing as the deadline is now a week away. But still, I think that I have the upper hand; I have a lot up my sleeve, and because my fellow competitors don't know what I'm doing for my form, that makes it easier for me to swoop in and snag her. I'm very experienced in writing forms - most of which are successful - and I hope to make the same sort of form here today.
So, to sum this up, I want Jiao not only because of her simple design, but because I can feel a connection with her. I think I have what it takes to care for her properly, so I'm going to give it my all in order to win her.
use:: Jiao would be a very beloved character, one that I will use only for two things. The first of these uses is "art." This includes GIF's, animations, sketches, stories, doodles, avatars - whatever you can think of that pertains to art. As stated above, I can easily replicate her design, so I'd love to draw her a lot. Through these art pieces and stories, I will start to see her true personality shining through. Jiao will be developed into a proper character.
The second and final use is an "ask page." Now, you may be thinking, "What's an ask page?" An ask page is usually portrayed as a deviantART account/tumblr account/CS page where a person acts as if they were a certain character - for instance, we'll use my fursona, Memphis. Say I were to make an ask page on deviantART for Memphis. First, I would make an account on there with the username of "AskMemphis" (or something like that). Then, I would draw up/write up an ask box - a place where people can ask questions to that character. From then on, I would answer questions with either a drawing or writing, acting as if I were Memphis.
I'd like to use Jiao for this because I really believe it would help develop her character. I would be answering every question through her eyes, so I could really get in touch with her personality. From then on, I think I could portray her more easily. The Necessary Information
Name:: Jiao Lung, which, when put together, means "Beautiful Dragon".
Origins:: Jiao Lung was born in a bamboo forest and raised by a family of Great Pandas. She developed a caring nature from being with these gentle giants for so long, and one day, wandered away from her adoptive family. Jiao walked alone for an impressive four miles, following her eager curiosity wherever it led her. Finally, she stumbled upon a human camp. A family of six was visiting China, but none seemed to notice the Psuedodragon invading their camp. A girl by the name of Memphis, however, spotted the little dragon soon after coming out of her tent to look for firewood. She lured Jiao towards her with the promise of fresh meat, all the while, her family watching and warning her to stay away from "the beast", as they called Jiao. Memphis, however, refused to listen, and instead convinced Jiao Lung to approach her, where she quickly grew attached to the human girl. Memphis and Jiao soon became inseparable, and Jiao agreed to leave China and go back to the United States with Memphis and her family under one condition: that she could say goodbye to her Panda family before they left.
The goodbye's were short, but sad. Jiao's adoptive father, the largest Panda named Bai Chen, gifted her a small pawful of Jasmine Sambac seeds that Jiao could grow and then put in her mane at any time to remember them by.
