Name: Vladimir

Gender: Male

Favorite food: Avocado's, or those chubby little grubs you find under dead logs.

Favorite thing to do: Star gaze, collect shiny things, making bubbles underwater.

Journal entry: (500 word limit)

I'm kind of quiet. I like to blend in. Other than the bell, I don't make much noise. In the dark, I can slink around fairly quietly. But sometimes you can catch a glimmer of my golden spots. I feel really flattered when the little fireflies nuzzle my flanks, because I feel like a part of their family. And they are beautiful, silent and fleeting, but they leave sparks in my heart. Like little fallen stars that leave little butterfly kisses on my skin and dance through the night. Sometimes they get really attached to the shine on my bell, and stay inside of it until they fade out. I like to pretend they're sleeping, but I am not that naive. I make them little boats out of leaves and float them down a river the night after they die. The stars always seem like they are drowning in the reflection of that river. And those little fireflies deserve to return to the stars. So yes, I am pretty quiet, and not the largest. But I like to believe that I am loud enough to sing with the gurgling river, and big enough to dance along with the stars.

Name: Hi, my name is Loki
Gender: I am a male hehe

June 18th
Today I saw something, I don't know what it was but it seemed to be looking for something. The creature was quiet small, and grey in colour, it has a long tail and small rounded ears with a pointed nose. Sharp front teeth and small red eyes, it also made a strange squeaking noise, often sitting back on its hind legs and looking around. I followed it for a little while but soon lost sight of it. I wonder if I will see it again?

Loki

June 19th
I saw the grey creature again, it still seems to be looking for something. It stayed longer this time. I followed it for a little longer today but again it soon vanished from my sight. I could smell it though, it has an acidic stale scent of rotting food and urine, I wonder if it is ok? I saw an inflamed scratch on its right hind leg that seemed to be infected and causing it to limp. I still wonder what sort of creature it is?

Loki

June 23rd
Two days ago (20th) I finally caught the small creature, It was a little female mouse. She was looking for her family, but lost them. The mouse didn't have a name so I named her Trixie. Trixie agreed to let me look after her and help her wound, it was swollen and filled with a file smelling creamy substance, it reeked of death. I gave her a bath and told her to be brave as I cleaned out the infection. She was brave but I could tell it was agony for her. Yesterday Trixie slept all day, I kept an eye on her and checked her injury, it was weeping a cloudy liquid which I wiped away every few minutes with a damp rag. Today she seemed a heap better, being able to walk a little on her leg. She asked if she could stay with me and I happily agreed. I had always wanted a friend, even if it was a little grey mouse.

Name:
Green Tea

Gender:
Male

Age
23

Occupation:
Botanist- a biologist specializing in the study of plants

Journal entry: -435 words

Dear Journal;

__________Normally the gardens are full with the laughter of children and their scolding mothers. However, there was no “don’t touch that” or the “oh dear, those have thorns” comments. It was just quite, no noise but the soft wind blowing. I did find peace here though; it was a nice change to drink my after new tea in quite. But I did miss the company of the children who would sit with me and tell me story’s about the games they played. They would always go one about a dragon that has the princess locked up in a tall tower, which normally turned out to be a tall blossoming peach tree or even a group of ninjas that stalked silently through my bed of flowers like a night’s wind. I sometimes grow jealous of them; they seem so care free, so full of life, so free that it makes me want to join in on their imaginative games. But with a seconded thought I had decided that I would stick to the flowers that I tended too and studied. The colorful petals and the sweet of scent of the lilac’s had always been more attractive to me than the thought of rescuing a poor damsel in distress or going on top secret mission to save the world. I bet I should just watch from affair and then listen to their great tails and adventures under the peach that we cool down under after a hard day at work. But the kids would not be coming today as school has set back into actions and there would be no one sitting under the peach tree today as the leaves turned and then fallen to the ground in a forsaken ugly pile. I guess that’s what happens when fall come around, but its ok because I have the greenhouse I work in once the cold sets in and when the first snow falls the mothers and children return to the gardens to play in the white blankets and to partake in the Build a snow man contest. But soon fall and winter will pass like any other season and my wave of loneliness I have will be melted away as the new warmer seasons fill the air the mother and children will come and there comments of “don’t” and “stay safe” will fill the air once more and the laughter of children saving the princess from that dreaded blooming peach tree once more come alive.

I can’t wait to see the new season and colorful flowers that bloom with them, tell next time,
Green Tea
