name: Blueberry Whip
gender: Female
feelings about blindness: Blueberry doesn't really mind her blindness, to be honest: after all, how can you miss something you've never experienced? Although she sometimes wants to see the snow or to see her friends, she tries to keep a positive attitude - it's never going to get better, so it's just something she has to put up with. Being a bouncy, bubbly little deerssert, she usually puts things like her blindness behind her; it's something she's had all her life, and it's just the way she is. Being blind, in her opinion, is what you make of it - some people may hate it forever and long to see, and others may be wistful, like her, but continue to be happy and content all the same. Part of her is a little bit proud that she is blind, as she is able to prove that blind people don't need to be unhappy or sad, and that blind people are the same as seeing people, that they don't have to be separated or considered odd. She actually thanks her blindness at times for having sharpened her other senses - she has a great sense of both smell and hearing, and she says it's thanks to her blindness that she is that way. Just because she's handicapped in one aspect doesn't mean she's handicapped in all of them, and she has a better sense of smell and hearing than most people. She is also sure-footed, which is another of her abilities she is proud of.
