>> From Kellin's View <<
I slowly padded through the forest, hearing the rustling of branches and leaves. I stayed calm and kept walking, as these things didn't scare me. Ever since that day . . . I was fearless. Nothing, no one, scared me anymore. I leaped up onto a rock ledge, gazing out at all before me. I felt the presence of something behind me, and turned my thin body around. There it was. I was face to no-face with a strange creature. As mentioned earlier, it had no face, instead a pale, blank head just sat there. Strangely, it seemed to be . . . Watching me. It had a black suit, along with a white undershirt and a blood-red tie. He was very tall and slender, towering over me. Six long, black tentacles snaked out of his back. I stood tall, whispering a fierce, "Who are you?" I heard a deep, slightly scratchy voice in my head. I am Slenderman, it said, And who are you? I sat down, wrapping my fluffy tail around my small paws. "I am Kellin," was my response to this Slenderman, "Pleasure to meet you, Slend." I heard him grunt, and rolled my eyes a bit. Slend . . . What a nice nickname. I smiled, flicking my ears back and forth slowly. He turned his head away for a second, seeming to be in deep thought. You . . . You have no fear of me. You are not like the others, are you? he said after a while. I tensed. Had he found out? I gulped, eventually gaining my bravery back and replying quietly, "It is true, I am different. I am of the fearless, the believers of the paranormal. The spirits of darkness, the broken, the outcasts." He nodded, sitting next to me on the ledge. Kellin . . . Where do you live? he asked, turning to me. I scratched the back of my neck, mumbling, "Nowhere. I'm a . . . nomad, you could say." I shrugged, shifting a bit. Slender seemed to think for a few minutes, in which an eerie silence overtook the whole forest. I see, then. Kellin . . . Would you want to come to live with my family? he seemed to smile, even though he had no facial features; he added with a laugh, Warning, they are very . . . strange. I gave a hearty laugh at this, waving a hand in dismissal. "I, too,am quite strange," I laughed, "And y'know, I'd love to!" Slender ordered me to follow him, and I pounced off the rock, doing so. I had the chance at a whole new life now. I could live with Slender, his whole family, I could have adventures and experiences I never would have been able to dream of. Looking to the dark sky, I saw the stars shinging. they seemed to smile at me. And, you know what I did?
I smiled back at them.
