History:Dune was part of a travel group in the Gobi desert. She had grown used to the ever shifting sands, the lack of water, the beating sun and the chilly nights. Dune might as well have been on of the camels that she worked alongside. She wasn't supposed to work out here but the humans saw how strong she was, both in body and mind. No one was even sure where the young Shire had come from, she had shown up wandering about as a sickly little thing and the humans took her in. Well now it was time for her to repay their kindness. One day a camel became sick, they needed another pack animal for the tour though. As they tried to figure it out, their eyes fell upon the 4 year old shire mare. They decided to try her and lo and behold she did amazingly well. She ended up with Nyra after a huge sandstorm destroyed Dune's farm. As Nyra was vacationing there, she saw a majestic....horse! Up on a large sand dune, she clucked and the mare trotted right over. She was sandy, a little thirsty and hot but otherwise fine. Nyra was shocked by the hardy mare, she knew horses didn't just show up in the desert, she must belong to someone. At last she found the owners but they had no where to keep Dune now that the barn was gone. Nyra offered to buy her and the gladly accepted the kind woman's offer. Dune was flown back to Nyra's farm where she quickly adjusted. Nyra named her Queen of the Dunes, Dune, because of the way she had looked in their first meeting. How Dune had looked so majestic upon that large sand dune under the blazing sun.
Personality:Dune is very competitive, to her disadvantage sometimes as she doesn't know when to give it up. She is also very strong if mind and body, only rivalled by Golden Hawk at the farm. She has great stamina and actually loves working. She becomes bored and grumpy if she can't work and is left to do nothing. Dune though feisty loves attention and getting hugs, kisses ect.. From the people at the farm.
Discipline: Nyra uses Dune as a trail horse and cart horse now. Oftentimes Nyra will take Dune to the beach so she can frolic in the sand that she loves so much.
Likes: SAND! Working, winning, coffee, hot weather
Dislikes: SNOW! Losing, apples, boredom, cold weather, snooty horses
