Your Username: Electra Heart
Name of the Mutato: Bluebeard
Reason for choosing the name: When I first saw this, I thought of the fairytale Bluebeard. The blue background, the words 'Once Upon" reminded me of it. That story is one of the strangest ones I have read. It's about a woman who married a man with (you'll never guess it) a blue beard! Right after their wedding, he goes on a trip. Before he leaves, he gives her a key ring, explaining that the keys unlock all of the doors in the house. One of the keys is especially small, and when the wife asked him which door it opened he told her where the room was and warned her never to open it.
Of course, once he leaves the first thing she does is open the door. What she saw inside was the bodies of all his previous wives, murdered by him. She was so shocked that she dropped the key into a pool of blood. Because she didn't want her husband to find out she'd opened the door, she went to her room and tried to wash off the tiny key- but, the blood wouldn't come off. She tried everything she could think of, but when her husband came home the key was still bloody. She returned all of the keys except the little one. When he asked her where it was, she lied and said she had left it upstairs. When she gave it to him later, he knew instantly that she had been in the room. "You have disobeyed me." he told her. "Soon, you shall join the women in the room. However, I will be kind and allow you an hour to say your prayers."
She knew her brother was coming for a visit soon, so she went to her room and watched out her window, hoping with all her heart her brother would get there before an hour was up. Then, just as a rider came in to view, far away on the horizon, Bluebeard called up. "Come down here, it is time now." She asked him for a few more minutes. Eager to get rid of her before her brother came, he refused. She came down the stairs, sobbing. Right as he was about to plunge his knife into her heart, her brother burst through the door and killed Bluebeard. The wife was released from her husband and she inherited his vast estates, married another man, and lived well for the rest of her life.
What gives you the creeps? Beetles, for sure. They're so shiny and squirmy and they fly into your hair and their feet are horribly scratchy.
