Simas are small wolf/cat creatures. The largest they can get is the size of a house cat, which is why some are mostly domestic. They are very friendly creatures, and extremely social, living in a pack of ten or more. Simas live mostly in the tropical regions of the world, making their homes in bushes and some have even been found in trees. They are omnivores, meaning they can eat just about anything. A Sima finds a mate and challenges others for dominancy by using their tails and claws, and sometimes horns. They don't mate for life, so they can mate with different Simas, though they can mate only once every two weeks in our time. Their tails have guards on the sides of the crystal within it like a sword almost. The jewels on their tails are always the same color as their eyes. They glow at night, though the glow isn't visible in the day, most the time anyway. All Simas are also covered in thick, fluffy fur that's soft to the touch.

A Sima can have two types of horns; stubby or long. It is not common for you to find them with horns, but its not completely uncommon to.

I'm gonna go on a limb here and say Doctor Who. But of course I am wrong.
Backstory/what happened to him/her?:
When Hymn was a young Sima, his mother would come to his bed and sing him a lullaby. It was soft and quiet, and it did not have words to it, but it soothed Hymn and helped him get to sleep. But one night his father came into his room instead of his mother. He took Hymn and sung the lullaby as he walked, and soon enough the young Sima was fast asleep. The father placed him in a machine, and worked on Hymn's body structure for three hours before finishing. Once his son was awake, the father brought him back to his bed to sleep.
Hymn woke up in the morning feeling fine. He was tired, sure, but nothing felt strange or awkward. But when he opened his eyes, they started adjusting just like a camera would. The Sima was frightened and called out to his parents, who came to his room. They comforted the youngster, and his father explained that his eyes were replaced with robotic eyesight. because every young male needed to have them in the pack because of a certain law.
Hymn learned to live with his new design. But after his parents passed, he spent every night looking up to the stars and observing them the entire night, talking to them. He is still seen doing so today. Hymn never forgot that one fateful day. And he never forgot those two most important Simas in his life.
He repeats the Lullaby Hymn every time he needs to sleep to this day.

Why did every young Sima in his pack need robotic eyesight?
Hymn was one out of four in his past pack who was a young male. The law passed to remove real eyesight for newer males so that they could take pictures of their surroundings for analysis of the Sima life. The leader wanted to study how the males worked so that warriors could be trained properly for the future. This worked out for some time, but the plan backfired when the young Simas started using the technology against the leader by taking non-useful photos.

For some reason I think Breaking Bad even though it's obvious you love Doctor Who. I am not sure.
Backstory/what happened to him/her?:
Masozi remembers little of her life before meeting her adoptive father and savior, Tafari, or her adoptive brother Idir. She remembers seeing a red piece of metal held by a gray muzzled Sima and feeling a white-hot, blazing pain going into her eyes, then, blackness.
She wandered blind for days, getting weaker and weaker unable to find food or water. Eventually she passed out. A kind, yet strange, elderly Sima by the name of Tafari found her and took her to his home. When Tafari's adopted son, Idir, saw her, he was surprised, for he had not seen many females in all his years. Especially not one so close to his age. Tafari, noticing the blindness of the unconscious female while doing a check of her vitals, decided he would do a similar, yet much simpler operation to her like he did to Idir.Tafari used mirrors coupled with camera technology to give the young female back her sight. Unfortunately she would no longer be able to shed a tear, not even in ultimate sadness.
Once she awoke, he asked her for her name. Being unable to recall it, Tafari named her Masozi, over the tears she would never be able to shed again because of her fake eyes. Since she could recall little of her own past, she opted to stay with the two males as Tafari's adopted daughter.

She is a quiet girl, who hates getting into fights with anyone. Masozi can be very timid unless Idir is with her. Even though he is technically her adoptive brother, Masozi cannot help but have a crush on the male. She admires his strength despite his bleak start at life and tries to be as courageous as he is. She is currently trying to build up the courage to tell him without ruining their siblinghood. Little does she know, he feels the same and their father really hopes it will come to pass that they will be together.

He was born with no name, no mother, and hardly a heartbeat.
His mother, Naylee, had been cast out of her pack for carrying cubs with an outsider and left to die. She could hardly find food the time she was pregnant and it showed horribly in her form. Where a baby bump should’ve been there was only a sunk-in portion and her ribs were so prominent you could see them from a mile off. Naylee knew she would not survive the birth and could only hope and pray that she could find someone before it was time. Unfortunately, she could find no one and contractions started while she was utterly alone in the forest. She laid in the leaves under an old oak for hours before her cub was finally born, and she finally passed out of this life.
The cub was less than half the size of a regular one, not to mention extremely fragile. His black fur was dull and almost lifeless, except for the shallow rise and fall of his chest. He tried crawling to his mother for warmth and food but he was much too weak and his mother was already gone from this world. The boy cub would’ve died if a strange old sima, by the name of Tafari, had not found him within the hour and taken him home.
Tafari knew the cub would not last long on its own. Its body was already starting to shut down slowly. He would have to interfere with life if the cub was to survive. The only thing that was still full of life was the cub’s eyes. Stark bluish white like lightning or electricity, they held the spark of life that the old sima knew the cub would need if he was going to survive what the elder one had in store for him.
The aftermath of the operation was a success. Tafari successfully implanted a device to help the young one’s organs to work the way they should with a control panel on the cub’s wrist. It would forever be attached to the cub through his veins, but Tafari felt it was a small price to pay to be alive. So that is what he named the small boy, Idir, “alive”.
Extra?:
Idir currently lives with his adoptive father, Tafari. He spends his days in Tafari’s laboratory, trying to make things that will make life easier and/or better for the whole sima race. He is almost old enough to mate and the thought has crossed his mind a few times just so he can give his child the real loving parentage he never got to experience. He does not know what really happened to his mother (besides her death), but wants to eventually try and find the original pack he came from to get the answers. Idir enjoys tinkering with gadgets and pondering about life. Unfortunately he cannot do too much physical activity because of his underdeveloped heart and lungs. While he does sometimes wish he could do the things he knows other sima can do, he knows he is lucky to be alive.

Even ran through the digital world. Where is Aelita? he wondered to himself. Something didn't feel right, and he was worried about the others. Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi still hadn't shown up. It just wasn't right.

Suddenly, he couldn't see.

He knew exactly what was going wrong. X.A.N.A had found him. He'd spent days avoiding him, helping the digital world and cleaning areas of it up when the others couldn't join him. "AELITA!" he yelled. "JEREMY! ANYONE!" he screamed in panic. He just couldn't move, both from fear and X.A.N.A. He could feel the darkness of the digital monster taking over. He had to fight it. He had to!

Before X.A.N.A could have him completely in his grasp, he heard someone yell. It was indistinct, but he knew the voice. Yumi. She was coming to his rescue. He heard the sound of fighting, but he still couldn't see. He assumed some of X.A.N.A.'s monsters were there, as he could hear them. Yumi yelling, sounds of a scuffle. Suddenly, all is quiet. He could feel X.A.N.A. retreating. His vision slowly coming back, but only is one eye. The other eye saw nothing but darkness. His left eye looked into the face of Yumi, grateful for her help. Grateful for his safety.

But he could still feel the power of X.A.N.A. inside him. Tainted.
