Males

• They are called STALLIONS, based off their
equine traits
• They have ruffs on the back of their legs,
cheeks and underbelly. The thicker the ruff,
the stronger and healthier the stallion
• Stallions have shorter and thinner manes
than mares, as they show off their ruffs
better when they are not veiled
• Stallions have 9 tails

Females

• They are called MARES, based off their
equine traits
• Mares lack the ruffs that characterize
the stallions
• Mares have long and thick manes, as
their strength and health is based off the
length and quality of their manes
• Mares have 6 tails

Foals

• Foals are what baby VEs are called
• All foals are born with three tails and
grow the remaining tails as they age,
depending on their gender
• Male foals also lack their ruffs when born,
which grow as they age as well.

PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES

Vulpes Equus are creatures with mostly equine bodies with
the exception of thick ruffs and silken tails. The tails can
seem to have a mind of their own, waving about through
the air. The amount of tails on a VE depends on the age
and the gender. VE's have foxlike eyes that seem to glow
in low light. These creatures are very athletic and able
to run long distances without tiring.

Vulpes Equus can range anywhere from 13 to 17 hands
tall ( a hand is 4 inches). Their tails are at least as long
as their body length, if not longer.

PERSONALITY AND TEMPERAMENT

Male VE's have fiery tempers. They protect mares with
their lives and are quick-witted and cunning. They
often fight among one another in duels over
smart mares but never take them to the death or
serious injury.

Females have calmer personalities and use their
intelligence and lack of testosterone to find ways
to solve problems that will involve less bloodshed.
Females are brilliant tacticians and are often sought
after by males for their level of cunning.

MATING AND BREEDING

While Vulpes Equus do not mate for
life, they are loyal to their mates and stallions will
do anything to protect their harem. VE's usually have
a harem of 3 to 4 mares, with one mare that is chosen
to breed. The chosen mare must be strong, intelligent
and be able to take the stress of helping lead the harem.
Mares can breed every 6 months and bear 2 foals a year.
