Did the title scare you? I hope it did! The main banner on the first post is pretty creepy too, but don't freak out! Be excited! It's almost Halloween! And just like on the last thread, BEFs is going to have a special Halloween Event!


When is the event?
I'd love to do it on Halloween but once again, like last year, Halloween is during the week when I am busy with school and other things. Luckily, it is on a Thursday, which is close enough to the end of the week (in my opinion) to where we can just push the event back a bit to this upcoming weekend!
The event will be held on Friday, November 1st, and Saturday, November 2nd. Friday will be for those in different timezones than me who are worried about foxes being released in the middle of the night and having to miss them- I will be releasing foxes throughout the night (my night, maybe your day!) from 11:00 PM to 3:00 AM Central Standard Time, or CST. These will be random small releases (of 2-4 foxes) at random intervals (normally once every hour) all night! On Saturday I will release foxes from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, once again in CST. This is for people a little closer to my time zone. I cannot accommodate for everyone's optimal adopting time- I need to sleep at some point- so I am sorry if none of these times will work for you. I'm trying to spread them out so a lot of people have a chance at adopting.

Here's some more information for those who haven't experienced a BEF event before-

How can I adopt from the event?
Easy! Just like normal adoptions- I will put foxes up for adoption in the Adoptions post on the main page in the "Event" box. There is a form, just like with normal adoptions, you have to fill out in order to adopt. Post the form and see if you get a fox. It is still first-come, first-server based, like normal. You can adopt one fox from the event. Once you have adopted your fox, you cannot adopt any more Halloween foxes from the event. I will be keeping track of who has adopted so don't try to pull anything on me C;

Are the foxes like normal foxes?
No! The foxes are Halloween-themed, special for the event. Most of them are on special edited lineart and may have extra details or mutations. There is also a chance of the elusive winged weasel making an appearance! Winged weasels only come out during events, and there is normally only one or two per event. Maybe you'll catch one!

Does anything special happen during the event?
Besides special foxes being released, yes! In the old thread we used to play games- the most common being a thread scavenger hunt. Because this thread is still small, we won't have a scavenger hunt this year [cue sigh of relief from older adopters]. Last year, we had everyone help us solve a BEF mystery, and whoever solved the case got a special prize fox! I won't tell you what we have planned this year until tomorrow (Oct. 29th), so stay tuned for that! I think a lot of people will have fun with this one!
