Describe your favourite book character to me, and include a quote from them: First of all, let me introduce you to the famous book series, Divergent. I know a lot of people are reading this series; at least 5 people in my class are. Though many people are reading it, it doesn't make it predictable. Divergent is a WIP

Let me tell you about Cinder from The Lunar Chronicles. I doubt you have read the books, as me and maybe 5 other people on CS even know of it's existence. The Lunar Chronicles takes 4 well known fairy tales (Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Snow White) and gives them an awesome sci-fi twist, with strong female characters that are just taking care of business!!!!! I would tell you in detail about this series but I'm kind of trying to beat the clock here, so I'll just go ahead and fast forward to where I start babbling about Cinder.

Linh Cinder is quite obviously the Cinderella in this 4 book series, but she's definitely not a helpless princess. Oh no. She's a mechanic working a little stand in the cramped market place of New Beijing. Day after day she sits in her stand, waiting for business and ignoring the stares from the shop owners around her. Why do they stare at her you might ask? Well, she's a cyborg. As a child she was in a hover accident (Or at least that's what she's been lead to believe.) that caused her to get cybernetic repair surgery. So now she has a prosthetic arm, foot, and a pretty darn awesome interface that allows her to tell when someone is lying, which comes in handy for many reasons in these books. It does other things as well, but seriously. Built in lie detector. That would make life so much easier.

So apart from her awesome gadgets, Cinder overall is a pretty fracking amazing character. She's a hard worker and a fantastic mechanic. (Reminds me of Kaylee from Firefly.) She's got that sarcastic, understated sense of humor that personally I think is the best kind of humor. She doesn't sugar coat things or play around either. When she encountered the man who she believed was contaminating her with a deadly virus, she proceeded to scream at him and try to attack him with a wrench.

Cinder is my favorite type of character. Witty, brave, crafty yet still has enough depth that you can relate to her on many levels, and is still very human. (Ex. Clumsily bumping her head on the bottom of her work bench in front of the Prince.) I've never loved a character as much as I love Cinder, and I'd go as far as to say that she's my idol. She's intelligent and independent, and I truly would hate to be dependent on someone else in my life. I've seen how it can ruin a person's life, and I will do anything I can to avoid that. I read the book in one day because I honestly could not put it down, and even though it wasn't a particularly sad ending, I still cried because I had become so attached to this character in a matter of hours, and I was feeling Cinder's pain. I forced my mom to take me to Barnes and Noble the next day just so I could get the second one in the series, and now I'm eagerly awaiting the third book! Seriously if you love strong female characters and are a sci-fi addict like me, then read these books. You will not be disappointed.

Gaaaaaah! I am so nervous! Laying on the edge of my bed. Good luck to all! Everyone has amazing forms!
Blame is a coward but self-righteous
A funny little creature hiding out in me
Hate is power with a price tag
A funny little creature screaming out in me
Listen to me
Fear is a liar but he's been right before
If you fight your shadow, you'll get lost in a war
Ambitions a champ, but he's also greedy
Drunk or sober he always wants more
I always want more
I always want more
Lust is beauty in a body bag
A funny little thing that's screaming "Just use me!"

Alrighty, so because of his popularity, I spent a long time reading and considering who should take this lad home. I basically judged primarily on book character, though some weight came down on the name too- extras were like "extra credit"- they can help you, but the deciding factor remains the criteria I asked for. I know this guy is well-loved so I hope that no one gets upset- Thank you all for trying out! I'd like to make a note of everyone's forms now. :3

~Country~: Ah, Patch, I've read up through the second book. Patch is the sort of guy that sometimes you want to strangle him and other times you think he's great. XD However, you did a good job giving his backstory, sort of like the inside flap of a book. :3 Your form was LOADED with extras, and they are all absolutely lovely. <3 Your art has effort put into it, and his history is nicely fleshed out. I love the name Allusion.

ZombieLuv<3: Ah, the Cheshire cat. always a favorite. It amuses me how much our culture loves this character, considering he doesn't have the largest role in the book. Maybe it's the delightful wordplay, or how a talking, floating cat can remain so.....cat-like. If my boy cat could talk, I feel like he'd be just like a slightly dumber version of the Cheshire cat. :3 Nice choice!

ImmyWimmy1: Alright, I love the name "Sean", and also...I'm a little mad right now...because you made me want to read this book series! Eek. I have too much to do! I have no time for reading! (Though actually this whole list of books makes me want to to read!) And also, I sort of love that a girl is named Puck. kek. XD Very nice choice of quotes and character. :3

K~Dog: Very nice job with choices of quotes, I liked that you incoporated the poems. I've read through the third book of this series, and I had to laugh, because honestly, Ren drives me nuts. XD I like him alright, up until the end of the second book... But I'm a bit swayed, since Kishan is my favorite. ;3 Your form is very very nicely done, even if he's not my personal favorite! Ren does have a lovely Indian name. I also really like the headshot you included!

Colore: Eee, so much art, and I love the name Vision. T^T The art is all gorgeous. I really like your style....and his personality/history/etc. is all nice. It might not be super long, but it fits him well and doesn't contradict itself. I really like your character choice. I haven't read the series, but it sounds very interesting! I would have liked to see why you like her as a character, but I really enjoy your form overall.

pupstar200: I really like the name Batman, it makes me laugh, and your explanation of the character is well done as well!

TimeLord~Jedi: heheh, you've pretty much gotten my comments! Great book series, really enjoy it! :D

Alright...working on final deliberations...

His specialty is Barrel racing, but he does enjoy some other Western style sports.
He used to belong to a riding school and teach beginners, but is now showed and used for trail riding.

ρεяsσηαℓιтү;;
People would describe him as a storm. Always active, playful, determined, confident, fiery, excitable, joyful and childish. He is a completely different horse when riding though, as he knows he must behave. He changes to a calm, obedient, experienced and patient horse when riding, who is used for beginners.
He is pretty much the perfect horse! Never disobedient, snappy, moody, cranky etc.

нιsтσяү;;
He was born at a stud farm until he was four and sold to a horse riding school where he was broken in. He lived there for two years before the accident and then was taken in by the girl he saved. He has had a simple, easy going life.

sтσяү;;
The girls eyes lit up. "Wow!" she exclaimed with surprise when she saw him. "This is Vision, one of our best horses." said the riding instructor. "Can I ride him instead?" said the the little girl, eyes still gazing at him in amazement. Vision guessed her to be about eight or nine and he sensed her warmth and kindness. He had seen her before and heard the instructor refer to her as "Amy". "He might be a little to big for you... Why don't want to ride Honey?" she said to Amy, tilting her head towards the little palomino pony tacked in pink. "I like him!" she said, sounding a little disappointed. "Oh, okay then."

Vision heard the giggle of Amy who was now mounted on his back. She could barely ride him as he was so big, but she managed as she was a quite experienced beginner. First they did some exercises inside the arena, then they walked to the outside gate. They started down the trail that took them into the bush and after about thirty minutes they broke into a trot until they got to the lake. Amy and the instructor dismounted and walked over to the lake to rest for a bit while Vision grazed with the instructors old bay mare. The lake was unnaturally still, but still very deadly. Vision remembered how deep it was from when he crossed it with his more experienced rider, Molly. Vision started watching Amy as she walked to the edge of the lake.

There was a shrill scream which hurt Visions ears and he instantly scanned the clearing for the cause, but all he saw was a splash. He ran over to the waters edge, but saw nothing. Before Vision knew it he was sliding in the mud and into the icy water. He let out a squeal as he felt something latch onto him and started swimming down the lake to get away, but it wouldn't let go.

A far way down he could finally reach the bottom and he struggled to find his feet as he was so weak from the cold and trying to keep afloat. As he came out of the water something pushed his back down and at that moment he realized that it was Amy. He heard the instructor yelling out their names and the whinny of the old bay mare calling to Vision. He didn't have the strength to call back, and Amy was unconscious so he slowly started down the path back to the riding school.

As he got there he saw the instructor had beaten them back. She ran up pulling Amy off my back and leaving Vision in the cold. Vision was starting to stress, as he heard multiple sirens and flashing of red and blue. After a while the instructor removed the tack, rugged and fed him before she told him he was a good boy.

three weeks later Amy returned. A man came and roped Vision, leading him into a horse box. The journey was quite long, but when he got out Amy took him for a ride. He was washed and brushed before a mane came and took a picture of Vision and Amy to put in the papers. Vision has been living with Amy ever since he saved her.

Storm Chaser

The legend of the horse started on an ancient battleground on a stormy day. The two tribes were preparing for battle. The first was well equipped and the second didn't have much. The Storm chaser was in the second tribe. He was slapped and smeared with painted war symbols. He was mounted by a heavy man and pushed onto the battleground. The sky was dark and white roots fell from the heavens down to earth which made a deadly sound that made his ears ring. He was pushed on into the battle with battle cries sounding all around him. Horses were everywhere on the ground, either dieing or dead but most were pushed onwards. just as he had almost reached the enemy hoard, a large bolt of lighting hit about three meters in front of him. He reared up with a deafening screech, throwing his rider off. As the rider fell, his wooden spike hit the horse in the rump, sending him forward. The horse ran up a hill outside of the battleground and turned to see his riders neck being slashed. He reared up, preparing to turn and run the opposite direction, when the lightning struck him.

Many legends of the horse guiding the lost through storms and into safety have been told, and he has been sighted chasing the storms to distant lands...

See Through The Storm

The storm will not forever rage on,
Birds will soon sing their song,
It rains down upon us,
The thunder sounds so near.

But the warmth will come again,
Just keep on the track,
We will find our way,
A better day will come.

We don't need to fear,
The storm will not harm us,
Just stick together,
And then we can see through the storm.

Vision was born on a stud farm and his parents weren't really identified, but his mate (or favorite mare I guess) is Vintage Butterfly, my dapple grey Andalusian that I won and I now my favorite mare too. C= His friends are Miracle Masterpiece, Silver Rain, Wisdom and New Light.

ωнү sнσυℓ∂ үσυ gιvε нιм тσ мε?;;
I don't mean this comparing to others or anything, but mainly why I want him and what I will do with him.
If I won him he would be my favorite stallion and I would pair him with my favorite mare, Vintage Butterfly. He would probably even be my favorite Cottonwood horse. He would be the horse I turn to for breeding's, as I believe that he would give good offspring. Being my favorite he would have art done by me and commissions done for him. He would go at the top of my Cottonwood Horses thread and will forever be loved, though I believe many other people would want him the same as I do, so I wish them luck. So, as you see he would have a good home and will be of great use for me. Thanks for the opportunity!

cнαяαcтεя;;
My favorite character would be Alex from the books "Ashes" and "Shadows" by Ilsa J. Bick.
The books are about a teenage girl (Alex who seventeen I think...) who survives an electromagnetic bomb which changes most of the humans into zombies (which they call "The Changed" and also "Chuckies") which are stronger and faster that the survivors. She meets this guy called Tom in the early stages of the first book and falls in love with him (also a little girl called Ellie) and they find this rangers house. They decide to hit the road with a truck that was left there, but soon get their stuff stolen by some other survivors who also take Ellie and shoot Tom. They find a shop and Alex leaves Tom there to find help. She finds this village and this other guy called Chris who she falls in love with also but leaves about a month later (I think) but she finds a feeding ground where the village fed the Changed and feels betrayed and such. Some Changed catch her and keep her stocked with some other people for future eating and Chris along with two others go to find her. Tom gets with these other people and plan to blow up this mine which is like a base for the Changed while on his way to find Alex. They take Alex into the mine and that's what I have read up to so far... (about halfway through the second book.)
I can't really remember what she's like as I haven't read the book in a while...

Sorry for the long description!^^ Its pretty much a zombie apocalypse/romance trilogy and I recommend reading them. Also, Alex is alone pretty much alone most of the time so she usually has thoughts, so they are what I am going to quote:

“Run, she told herself. Run, you idiot, run.

But she didn't. She couldn't. She just... couldn't.”

“Those brain-zapped kids weren’t the only - or maybe even the worst - enemy.”

"You're a liar. Your friend begged you, and you couldn't do it.

I know you're a soldier, Tom, but you're not a killer, and neither am I."

Apologies is they are by another character in the book, I have a terrible memory.
