NAME

Kainalu (kye-nuh-loo) meaning "sea wave." His nickname is Kai.

PERSONALITY

Kainalu is an outgoing and fun loving makoatl. He is pretty adventurous, and tends to go out on a limb and take risks. He sometimes gets himself into trouble on these adventures, but that has never stopped him from adventuring, exploring, and taking risks. Kainalu can often be found goofing off with his friends, and likes to play practical jokes on his friends, family, and teachers. Luckily, most people appreciate Kai's sense of humor, so he never gets into really serious trouble. You will almost never see Kainalu without a smile on his face.

HISTORY

Kainalu was born on a star filled cloudless night, in a small coral cave. When little Kai opened his eyes, the first things he saw was his mother and father. Their faces were kind and loving, as his mother leaned down to kiss Kai's tiny head and whisper his name for the first time softly in his ear. "Kainalu," she whispered. The second things he saw were the stars in the sky, shiny brightly with their light filtering through the water into the cozy little cave. Kai stared up at the stars, then pointed his tiny paw up. "Those are called stars," Kai's father told him when he saw what his son was pointing at. "Tuh," Kai shouted, trying to say the name of the stars. The third thing Kai saw that day was a funny orange and white clownfish. It swam around Kai's head, making him giggle and shriek with joy. He reached out to try and catch it in his paws, but it was too fast and swam away. Kai laughed some more, before letting out a large yawn and falling asleep. It is thought by many that these three things are what shaped Kai's personality from the moment of his birth. It is said that the sweet loving nature of his mother is what gave Kai his ability to sense when someone is unhappy and to comfort them. It is said that the stars gave Kai his sense of wonder and curiosity, as well as his undying urge to explore. Finally, it is said that the clownfish gave Kainalu his joyous, fun, upbeat, goofy attitude which is present everyday.
