And also, would it be okay if some paragraphs are longer than 9 sentences if others are under that limit? Like, could one paragraph be 12 sentences if another one is 6, so that the average is still 9?

nope- 9 is the limit please :)

so long as you don't say 'oh he was walking or riding when a car smashed into his body, breaking his bones" and such- if you just mention a car accident then it should be ok.

At first I didn't click with him, but after writing the story I really love him <3

Owner: Kittehkat<3
Equid Name: Tao's golden honnor, Tao for short. I have him this name for him having almost little flecks of gold in his mane.
Equid Age: 2, really young
Height: 13.3hh
Gender: Male
SHORT story:

The sweet smell of the barn entered Rachael's nose, her favorite smell. It wasn't the straw of hay, the sweet grain that was richly poured into the buckets or the smell of horses, but all of thoughs combined. This was a dearly special place for her and her yearling, Tao. The pink velvet nose twitched as a fly landed on the end, perking his harks up to watch the girl. "You Silly boy" She teased, fixing his mane to which no straw was caught like a bug in a spider web. Her face wasn't what shown to Tao that she was sad. He could sense her sadness, as many other equids could in the six stalled barn. But none of them were as close to Rachael as Tao was. Rachael was there from the moment that he was born to help him on his feet to even triple check on him each hour of the day for a full week. He was specail to her, not because he was quipless, but because he was her's. Tao watched her with his big luminous eyes, unaware why she was in a saddened state. The teenager removed her hand from his wither a to stare at one of the many hung signs in the barn, the one that caught her eye was hanging on the tack board.

"For Sale, quipless Equid. 5,000 dollars friendly, tame, Broke" She whispered before burying her face into his swirled side. Tao watched the sign as well, but being a Equid doesn't mean you understand the writing. His nose let out a snort, moving to muzzle her side.Rachael's tear-streamed face looked up at him managing a giggle. The girl quickly wiped away her tears with the end of her gray jacket and started to breath calmly as she heard a car door slam shut outside. She sighed before hugging Tao then jumping like a mouse up into the rafters, knowing what was going on. Earlier in the day a girl a few years older than her called about her Tao, wanting to meet him before making a decision. Each person that came nearly gave her a heart attack, and sometimes she would find herself getting in trouble by sleeping in the upstairs part of the barn to make sure her stallion would be safe.

The Equid's muzzle looked up at his master, who hid in a hay bale igloo of sorts. She had made careful ways of being able to watch his stall without being seen, or detected by her equid. Tao then resumed to munch in hay left in his stall, Rachel able to hear the soft grinding noise that he made as he chewed. The silence then was erupted when the stall door opened. "Third stall down on the left" Racheal's mother told the girl who started to walk down the middle of the barn towards Tao, who shrank back in his stall. "I thought she was in here, sorry about that Emma" The girl named Emma looked back, smiling "It's fine, I don't care". Rachael narrowed her eyes, staring at the new riding boots and pants that the other girl worn. A crop clicked against end her side as she stopped in front of Tao "Pretty, I guess you were right on no quips" She smirked, watching Tao. She glanced up at the hay, almost were Rachael was. Rachael shrink back, blinking "Well, it's a deal".

Rachael felt like half of her body died, catching herself from falling back. She felt like grabbing hold of the golden hay bales and throwing them in anger. She sighed, watching them start to walk away. Racheal felt like melting into the floor and never coming up, staring into Tao's green eyes as he watched herself from his hiding place. "We'll..." Her mother said, realizing where Rachael was "Lets do the paperwork". She moved out with Emma, the door shutting with a creak. Rachael dashed down the ladder, party Sistine her ankle on the last one. She signed, moving towards Tao. She stopped in her tracks when the door behind her opened "I knew that there was a rat bidding up there" She snarled, glaring at Rachael. Rachael fell back narrowing her eyes "He will always be mine in my heart, no matter what". Racheal kept one eye on Tao, who noisily kicked at his stall. "Whatever, he already wants me, he seems to want to get out" Emma avoided her as she pressed on over towards Tao.

Tao held up his head, stomping one of his hoofs. Rachael knew he would do that out of anger or when he wouldn't want to be ridden, but Emma didn't heed his warning. The stallion half way up before stomping back down, tossing his head as he paced the perimeter of his stall. Just then Rachael's father came out "I've heard enough" He crossed his arms as he leaned against the side of the barn "Please leave Emma, any chance of Tao being yours is gone". Rachael felt her pluse quicken, smiling. Emma stormed off without a sound "whatever, jerks" She tossed her crop at the direction of Tao before peeling out of the driveway. Since then, Tao has been rented out and still lives happily with Rachael <3.

I know I probably won't win him, but it was worth a shot. I have had this story in my head for a while too, so it worked out perfectly :3

Owner: Merlin's Heir
Equid Name: Rendezvous (Dez, DAY-ez, for short)
Equid Age: 2 years
Height: 13.3hh
Gender: Male
SHORT story: "Mom, mom, Dr. Smith has a new equine for sale!" I explained to my mother about the gorgeous equine creature that our local vet had rescued the other day, a horse-like animal with large ears and a standing-up mane that ran down its back and about halfway down the long, lion-like tail. She just nodded and mmm-hmmed as usual, until I asked her if we could buy him. "Alexandra, you know we can't afford to have a horse, let alone some strange new species that has who knows how many extra needs!" I was quite used to similar answers - I'd been asking for a horse since the day I was born, dad always told me, but we'd never had enough money. Mom always gave me a flat-out no, but dad said that if I could earn enough money to buy a horse and pay for tack and grooming supplies, then he'd help me fix up the old two-horse stable in the backyard and pay for the feed and hay. The only problem was earning the money; who would pay an eleven-year-old girl for anything? I might be an avid reader who's a year or so ahead of others her age, but that wasn't going to help me get money for the amazing black pinto stallion that Dr. Smith was selling for $1000. I hopped off to my room and counted out my money, all 486 dollars; this wasn't enough, but I suppose it was a head start. All I needed now was paying jobs and for no one else to take an interest in the animal I wanted so badly.
I decided to start the next day, right after breakfast, math, and checking on Rendezvous (I knew I shouldn't have given him a name, but I couldn't help it!). I asked my parents for ideas, and they said I should ask around our small, old-fashioned town and maybe put a flyer up in the store, so that's exactly what I did. I can just see what my day would look like in a movie: various short clips of me laying, sitting, and playing around on the bench outside the store, waiting for someone to need something done. Eventually Mr. Tanner, the owner of the store, asked me to sort some things, and my luck just went up (slowly, but still up) from there. By the end of the day I had done various tasks around the store, weeded out old Mrs. Jones' garden, mucked out a countless number of stalls at Northwood Ranch and several other farms, and who knows what else, earning me a grand total of $87. I had five more days until Dr. Smith was sending Dez to the big city, so if I could just get about this much every day, I'd have enough to buy my beloved friend and the small set of grooming tools at the Second-Hand Bridle Shop, and since Dr. Smith says that Dez's back is too weak for riding, I wouldn't have to buy any tack! I told dad all about my day and he told me that I was doing very well, and that if I kept up my hard work, he would be glad to pay for Dez's feed. I went to sleep thinking about Dez and all the wonderful times we would have together. Everything would be so perfect, so long as I just got $435 more by Sunday morning. But no story is a good story without challenges, and I, unfortunately, had not quite realized that knights weren't the only ones that had to fight dragons to save their fair maidens from certain doom.
Two more days passed, and I was doing pretty well, having earned $91 one day and $83 the next. But Thursday morning brought bad news, for when I went to visit Dez, there was someone talking to Dr. Smith about him and was obviously thinking of buying him. I waited until the vet and his visitor left the small barn and then went in to see my beautiful equine friend. I talked to him for a little while and then left in search of work, desperate to earn the money I needed before it was too late and Dez was bought by some rich city-person who wants him for nothing but fame and fortune. The hot day seemed to drag on forever between my worry about Dez's future and the long, tasking jobs I had to do that didn't seem to pay very much. Mom paid me for doing a few big cleaning jobs around the house, but nothing that I did seemed to help much when I imagined some slick city fellow in fancy clothes handing Dr. Smith a thick wad of dollar bills and taking Dez far, far away from me. When I counted up the money I'd earned that day, $79 seemed like a few pennies; certainly that person talking to Dr. Smith about Dez could offer far more than I ever could, and I still needed $182 more before I could even offer the least the vet would take! Dad noticed that I was looking upset and talked with me about it, telling me that no matter what stood in my way, I could accomplish anything I wanted if I just set my mind - and heart - to it. But I still fell asleep thinking about Dez's future, and even though I realized that as long as he was happy, I would also be, I still had nightmares about him being taken away.
However, I awoke early with the determination to at least go down fighting, and I immediately set to work to earn the money as fast as I could. I needed to earn a little over $60 a day in three days or exactly $91 a day in two days, so I set out with an unquenchable spirit to succeed in my quest. But, of course, in comes reality, barging in to remind me that, since I've been doing so much work over the past three days, there's less work for me to do now! I admit I was a bit disheartened at that realization, but I was still determined to do my best, even if it wasn't good enough to get Dez, so I went around town knocking on every door and doing all the jobs I could in the time that I had. By the end of the day, my entire body was sore from visiting half the town and doing all sorts of jobs, from mowing a whole acre of field to buying some eggs and parsley from the store. Dinner was delicious, long-awaited, and much enjoyed, and I nearly collapsed on my bed in exhaustion afterwards, though I did manage to count my earnings, which was $80 exactly, before drifting off to a deep sleep in my clothes. The next day was very similar: get up early, eat breakfast and do math, visit Dez, visit the half of town that I didn't visit the day before doing all that jobs that I could, go home and eat dinner, count money, go to sleep. I needed $19 more to buy Dez, just $19 more and I'd finally have my perfect dream come true. But of course, one can always trust life to interfere in such delicate matters of the fragile heart when it's at its peak of joy, yet somehow one never expects it to happen...
I was living with my head in the clouds the next morning, so certain of my success that I decided to stop at Dr. Smith's for an extra 20 or so minutes to chat with Dez, and perhaps that was where I erred - that was certainly where I should have done different. It took a good number of hours to earn my $28 from helping Mr. Tanner with the week's shipment of produce, and then I skipped on over to the Second-Hand Bridle Shop to buy some grooming supplies. When I hopped on back to Dr. Smith's place, however, I met with the demon of disappointment that I thought I'd so cleverly left behind in my whirlwind of hard work. A young girl, probably only 18, was clipping a lead rope on to Dez's halter and leading him into her trailer while a man that I presumed was her boyfriend wrote out a check for Dr. Smith. I shoved my hard-earned money back into my pocket and walked over to the girl, asking if I could say goodbye to Dez. She smiled and told me I could, and when she asked about my calling him Dez, I explained how I had visited him every day and named him Rendezvous. She said she quite liked the name and that she'd keep it for him, and I asked her about what she wanted Dez for, to which she replied that she loved unusual equines and would give him a nice, peaceful home with several others of his kind, which were apparently called Wild Mountain Equids. She told me that she didn't live too far away and that I could come visit him and his friends sometime, and I gladly accepted her offer, knowing that it was the only way I could ever see him again. I cried a little when I hugged him goodbye, but I bravely wiped away my salty tears and waved until the glossy, white trailer disappeared on the edge of the horizon, along with my lost dream.
I walked back home slowly and sadly, trying but failing to cheer myself up with the idea of getting a horse with the money that was still in my pocket. I knew, deep down inside, that no creature could ever replace the cavernous gap that Dez left in my young heart. I was so distraught that when I got home, I completely failed to notice that we had visitors until mom called me into the living room to meet them. To my great astonishment and confusion, it was the boy and girl that had bought Dez that were sitting casually on the couch across from my parents. It turns out that they knew my parents and had stopped by for a visit, and eventually got around to talking about Dez, which is when my parents realized that I didn't get my dream and the girl, Ariana, realized that I was the girl at Dr. Smith's. They had "discussed special arrangements," as dad put it, and agreed that, so long as Ariana got half the money she paid for Dez (I was to pay her from my earnings) and got to keep and/or distribute (among the "community of equid-lovers," she said) all but one of Dez's foals (that last "one" being for myself), my dream was mine indeed. I have never been quite so elated in all my life, and I don't believe that I ever will be again, running around and jumping and screaming with delight until mom sent me outside to get Dez settled into his new home. My dream and I were both quite satisfied with our situation, and I almost got the feeling that Dez knew all along how things would turn out. As he rested his head on my shoulder while we watched the sunset that evening, I knew that my life now was, and would be forever, perfect.

(exactly 6 paragraphs of 9 sentences each, amounting to 1898 words)

I've got a question too omo but thankfully a very simple one x"D
Due to all of the dialogue in my final paragraph, some of it only a few words, it brings the final paragraph's sentence total to 12, I believe, but still it's mostly very short bits of dialogue- is that still okay? vuv
Thank you! <3

Equid Name: Geronimo
Equid Age: 5 and 1/2 years
Height: 13.3hh
Gender: Male
SHORT story: Geronimo was standing in the stall after he had been taken by those humans to what they called the 'sales'. He had absolutely no idea what that was, but he did not like how it sounded. He liked where he had been before. He did not want to leave the place where his mother was, where he had been raised. But he realized there was nothing he could do about it now. He found he really had no reason to gripe, other than that he'd be going some place new. And he would not know anyone there and would have to start all over again. He'd have to make new friends, and probably wouldn't see his mother again. But maybe he would get lucky and catch a glimpse of her some place or another.
Geronimo sighed heavily as he swiveled his ears and closed his eyes for a moment. So lost in thought was he, that at first he did not notice her. He opened his eyes and breathed in almost sadly. And then he caught a new scent, one distinctly different here. It was the scent of a human, yes. Bit it was different, for it was younger and sweeter. And so he swung his head around and saw her there before his stall. He looked the little human girl over and snorted. She wasn't so bad, at least she did not yell like those males had. And she did not have a whip or any of those horrible things.
The little human looked up at the Quipless Equid and tilted her head in an almost shy way. She smiled softly as she came forward quietly and held out a hand to him. Geronimo sniffed her hand and then pulled away. He looked the little girl over again and tried to guess her age. To him, she appeared between ten and twelve years of age. But he could not quite guess how old. He watched her almost shy motions, and stretched his head towards her again. He sniffed the hand that was offered him once more. And then he snorted softly, blowing warm air from his nostrils over her hand, the sign of friendship.
The little girl said "My name is Jessie, let's see...hello there, Geronimo." The Equid snorted again and lifted his head up and down as though nodding to her that she was right. Geronimo closed his eyes as the girl pet his nose softly. He found that it felt really good to him, despite everything he'd been through. He opened his eyes to regard the girl as she withdrew her hand. And then he watched in confusion as she ran off. Had he done something wrong? No, he heard her talking to the master, asking to buy him. Then he heard the girl give a cry of dismay when she found she didn't have that amount of money, she was twenty dollars short.
Geronimo watched as the girl came back to him down trodden, with tears in her eyes as she lifted her hand to his muzzle, but she did not pet the Equid, just stood there with him. Her head was down and she was sad, and all he could think was that he wanted to cheer her up. And so Geronimo nuzzled the girl's hand and snorted softly again, and she lifted her head. She looked him in the eye and said "I'm so sorry boy. I can't buy you." and then she gasped, regarding him for a second and then taking off again. The little girl found the master again and said "I can take care of him and ride him for you! I'm really good at that!" The master laughed at the little girl and said "He will go to Pine Haven Farms and you will go there every day before and after school." She nodded and Geronimo thought He was going home! And so the Equid went back to his farm, and the girl came to him each day to feed water and ride him, because her house was just down the road. And there could not have been a happier pair anywhere.

Equid Name: Kiba
Equid Age: 3
Height: 13.3hh
Gender: Male
SHORT story:

Molly. That's the name of the girl that has been visiting him for the past month or so, he learned it on the same day that he gained his own name.

It was the usual morning routine that day; he got his coat brushed before being taken out to the fields with the others. ' Namless Hair ' That's what the humans would call him, not that he minded. Some would say it in a softer, more polite way while others would attempt at making fun of it. Until now being called ' Namless Hair ' hadn't bothered the stallion, not until he met her. The girl was leaning over the wooden fence that separated her from the four legged animals; her longing eyes flicking from one creature to the other. Her eyes passed the dark stallion a few times, but only now had they properly focused on him; the longing in them was no mixed with curiosity. She stretched out her hand over the fence and thanks to the stallions curiosity, he stalked up to the girl. '' Hello little guy. '' She said. '' I'm Molly but my mum likes calling me Molls. I don't really like it, so i'd prefer if you would call me Molly. '' Her lips stretched into a wide smile before she patted the equines neck. '' I'll call you Kiba, if that's alright. ''

Ever since that strange meeting the two met every single day at the same time. She'd tell Kiba about her previous day, and for some reason he'd listen. Maybe it was the girl's kindness or the way that she made Kiba feel acknowledged; whatever it was he kept coming back to listen to the girl, strangely fascinated by the new, human he met.
This continued for 2 months and the two developed a new bond that was unique in its own little way, little did they know that it'd be put under a cruel test sooner than expected.
Molly lived and worked on a farm nearby but her family was soon going to move to the city after they'd sold the farm. The girl tried over and over again to reason with her parents, to beg them to stay here, but they'd not listen to it. '' It's just a bloody horse. You'll get one eventually. '' They'd tell her over and over again; call her stubborn and silly for over exaggerating.

'' But I'm not over exaggerating ! Kiba... What will I do ? I can't.. I just can't leave you here all on your own... You'd have others to look after you, but how will I know that they're doing it properly ? And-And I won't have any friends up in the big city ! Oh Kiba, you're my only friend here... I... I'll find a way to keep our bond, just you see ! I will, I won't let them move ! '' For an unknown reason the stallions presence alone seemed to cheer up the girl. He nudged her cheek with his muzzle before she ran off, down into the stables.

After that meeting Kiba hadn't seen Molly. Slowly he began to fear that she did move and that he'd never see her again, but he kept distracting himself with something else just to not think about it... Kiba. Would others somehow start calling him that or will his old name, ' Nameless Hair ' become his name again ?
More fears began to cloud his head until a voice broke the clouds apart. It was a voice that could be compared to honey, yet it was soft like the field's that he'd be brought into. '' I'm so sorry ! '' Her hands wrapped around his neck. The two stayed that way for a long while.

When Molly was finally able to pull away, she explained everything. '' I''l buy you off, Kiba ! I somehow convinced them. I won't be getting any pocket money and the money that I'll earn by working here will all go to buying you ! I'm so happy ! It'll take a while though, but I promise that we will never be separated again, not if I'm here with you. '' Then the girl flung her arms over his neck again and the two never parted away from each other again.

SHORT story:

I trudged up the footpath of the old country roads. The cars rushed passed my face as I looked over to the other side of the road, where there was many fields, one after each other. They mostly had sheep in them, or cows. One had a lovely old white horse called Smokey who was incredibly friendly. Though one field, the last before the turning into the hockey pitch, was a strange looking horse. I turned to my grandmother was walking beside me and asked to go and see it, she said "Of course, you know that's a Wild Mountain Equid, It's strange to see them domestic, they are mainly wild." I smiled to her and we crossed the road to the field. I began to call the equid over , it took a while, but he came. I fed it grass for a while and soon ran out of nice fresh tall grass so I ran down to the end of the field to get more. The equid followed racing me down the field. I laughed at this as no horse had ever did that I fell in love with the Equid instantly.

I had always went to visited the Equid, as it was always there. It always seemed so Distant from everything, as if part of him was missing. So that's what I decided to name him, since I didn't really know his name, Distant and we still raced each other up and down the field, it was fun for the both of us, he seemed to like it. I traveled there every morning, it was within walking Distance, only three minutes down the road. Though one day, as I was standing at the metal gate of Distant's field an old man stated walking up the track with a purple halter. I continued to stroke distant as he approached. I asked him if it was his horse and he said it was. "He is beautiful," I said quite loudly as the man had said he didn't have great hearing. He also went on and said "Could i sell him to you?" My eyes widened "H-how much?" "550," he replied, it was cheap for a horse but I still could not afford it or have anywhere to put him. I had to refuse it at that moment, but I never forgot it. The man then began to lead him out of the field to where his home was and that was when I asked his name, "Doesn't have one, I just call him boy." The man said and then lead Distant away.

The man had just been taking him to shed behind his home where he would put him back on hay fodder for he had used him for carting so he was put back into the field shortly after. I still visited him, raced him, brought him the odd carrot or apple here and there. But sometime after, Distant had disappeared from the field he was usually in and wasn't there anymore. I wanted to go and knock on the old owners door but, I couldn't bring myself to do it. I was always bored as I just always use to go there but now I had to go.

After quite some months I had given up, I thought he would never be there again and he wasn't. I had been looking in every other field close to the area and he wasn't there either. One day I had left the area to visit some family out in the city, I had gone by the coast road. Returning we went a different way, not by the coast we were more inland. I loved to just stare out the window so that's what I had been doing, we came to a corner and there had been fields on both sides and in that corner field grazed Distant. I stuck my face up against the window and gasped in delight, "Look mum, look there's Distant!" I had told her all about him so she knew how much I had loved him, she slowed the car though there was nowhere to stop so we had to drive on. I sat in the back of the back with I smile across my face, I had found him.

The field had belonged to so farmers. An uncle of mine had knew them and he kept his boat there so when he said he was driving up I asked if I could go with him. He drove me up the lane to the farm and we got out. My uncle and the farm owner, Jim, spoke for a while, me pretending I was interested. Eventually I had worked up the courage to poke in deeper and speak, "This is a lovely farm, what animals do you keep here?" Jim smiled, he loved his farm his pride and joy it was, "Ah we have many many sheep and cows too, dogs , cats horses -" "Horses! I love horses! May I see them?" I asked eagerly "Of course, come on and we will go see them." We all walked down towards the field. He pointed out all of his horse and then came to one more, it was Distant and he came trotting over straight away, "This one is a different breed, we got him a while ago but I haven't payed it much attention, not much you can do with it really..I thought of selling him-" "No!" I cried, "He is lovely, what is his name?" It was Distant to me, "No name yet, but see we need to do much more with our showing horses so we don't have much time to really d-" "I could help! I would love to take care of him!" Jim thought for a moment, "That sounds splendid, since you have agreed to help why don't you name him?" I smiled, "Distant."

I hope its not too long ;-;
