Personality: Maya is a complex, many-facetted and even controversial mare. She is very hard to describe because her character seems to be almost fluid, and can change drastically within a rather short timespan.
Maya usually behaves like the typical movie star. She is feminine, proud, graceful and loves to be the center of attention. She needs to be in the spotlight, then she'll truly shine and her eyes will sparkle. This mare knows exactly what she wants and what she doesn't want and will clearly state it. One thing she seriously dislikes is getting her coat dirty or her mane messed up. She cares a lot about looks and wants to look pretty, she'd never want others to see her on a bad hair day. At her worst, Maya behaves like a loud, determined and moody diva. At her best she is a quiet and caring girl who just wants to be loved and appreciated.
Just like her name and markings suggest, this mare is great at putting "mask and accessories" on. She could be called an actress because she has an amazing talent when it comes to playing different roles, regardless of her true feelings and emotions. It depends on the circumstances, but not entirely. Of course she'll sometimes alter her behavior because it's required and beneficial in this certain situation. Sometimes she also wants to entertain others. But at other times she decides to put on an entirely new mask for a while, without any particular reason, just because she feels like it.
Her convertibility shows, for example, in sudden and everychanging obsessions with certain kinds of food, plants, ways of talking or moving and so on, but also more notable things - sometimes she seems to have totally changed.
Maya simply enjoys change in life, she would find it so boring to always be the same. And while she can't always alter her surroundings, she has realized that she can simply alter herself instead. She just invents a new version of herself whenever she wants to, and when questioned she will most likely say "because I can".
Maya is an utterly creative mare and can express her emotions extremely well through body language. It doesn't need many words for her to get her point across. She has learnt that a particular way of moving her tail or looking at someone in a certain manner can be so much more expressful than mere words. No matter what "role" she is currently playing, she does it passionately and puts her whole heart into it. She is absolutely disciplined and seems to have great confidence in herself and in what she does, and when she can live out herself in whatever way she wants she truly seems to shine.
Though, what many don't see is her inner core. There is something inside her that she tries very hard to hide, but it is always there and always stays the same, regardless of the mask she is wearing. Maya does have a very sensitive, vulnearable and breakable side that doesn't usually show through. It mainly shows when she's "out of the spotlight". Then she starts to wonder about things like what others might think of her, if others like her, if she is pretty enough and so on. It might not be so obvious because she looks like a rather confident young mare, but she is hurt more easily than you'd think.
Overall she could be compared to stained glass - its colors and shades change frequently depending on the light shining through it, and only because they can change the masterpiece is really perfect. But after all a stained glass window is only glass, it's breathtakingly pretty but breakable.

Personality: Delphi has two sides to her personality -- not in a bipolar sort of way, but just what's on the outside and what's hidden, like shimmery gold coating that can be chipped away to reveal the true surface underneath. When you first meet her, you'll probably get the impression that she's a total socialite. Spunky and outgoing, often outspoken, never afraid to make a new friend or express her opinion. She's daring and a delight to be around, excellent at setting others at ease. She's always ready with a wide grin or a shoulder to lean on. She enjoys being the center of attention and her greatest fear is being forgotten. Around her friends is where she's happiest, and she hates being alone, even for a little while. She acts like she doesn't care but inwardly she thrives on company, wilting limply when not around others. She loves laughter and happiness, as well as dramatic emotions of all types as long as it doesn't get TOO out of hand. Yes, this is the outer part of her, exposed for all to see, the shiny gold.
And it is true -- not a charade or anything like that, no. But there is definitely another side to her as well, a hidden one. This part of her is in awe of nature, and the universe in general ... it feels small, insignificant, when she looks up at the sky at night. A tiny speck in a celestial miracle. This is the more thoughtful side of her, the side that comes out late at night when she is alone, no one around but her. She thinks about many, many things, about decisions and fate and miracles. This side is also rather superstitious -- much her to her great mortification. She just can't help it -- she gets frightened easily by what the silliest things might mean or cause. However, her so-called superstition can also bring her joy and wonder, as she imagines all the marvelous things a small thing might mean, from a drop of dew catching the sun just so, sparkling like a diamond, to one star winking a bit brighter than the others, to a beautiful pink petal, soft to the touch, landing on a swirled stone. This is the side of her that truly enjoys her life and the world, drinking it all in with a relish, living every moment like her last. Her hidden side; yet her true side, also.
These two parts, two sides of Delphi make her who she is. Without one, the other is useless ... a lock without a key. But both together, they combine to create the beautiful, wondrous, awestruck creature that she is.
