I am DragonInAPiBox, previously known as Kaycee Sohma.
I am a mod for this species, although that really shouldn't matter
much right now. Even if I have had a username change, I still like
to go by Kaycee. <3
I have been waiting for a long time to try out for another Shionnix,
for fear of winning and filling my final slot all to soon. When I saw
this girl, i hoped she hadn't closed for judging yet as I fell in love. <3
And seeing nothing that said she had, well I decided I would give it
my best shot. :3

Name:
If I was to win, this Shionnix's name would
be Arielle. Arielle is a Hebrew name, and means "lioness of God."
The variant form "Ariel" is another name for Jerusalem, and specifically
the altar in the Holy Temple (Ezekiel 43:15). (variations: Ariel, Ariella)
I chose the name because I found it very beautiful. I love Hebrew names,
and wanted one for my last Shionnix. I didn't so much go after meaning this
time, as I have with my other Shionnix, but rather what sounded best and fit
the character best.
Gender:
If I was to win Arielle, she would be female. I have
a slight issue with my characters genders being off, if they are from the same
species, and as of right now they are. i have two males, and one female. I would
really love my last Shionnix to be female, so both genders are equal.
Not only that, I could see Arielle as nothing but female. I see a fiesty, somewhat
flirty spirit in her eyes, that could only belong to none less than a girl. <3

Artwork:
For artwork, I decided to to do some writing. As I
cant draw Shionnix to well online, and I dont have time to draw it
traditionally, it is the best I can do as of right now. <3 Although I
will definitely be making art of her later, for either myself or gift
art for the winner. :3 Writing is, after all, a form of art!

Over, Under, Dive through the opening!, the female shionnix thought as she dodged the branches that blocked her path while she flew the trees. Her breath was heavy as she tried to quicken her pace, but she could only fly so fast. Everytime she slowed down just a bit, she could hear them getting closer, and more desperate...
Finally, she could go no further. She was, in all honestly, completely exhausted. She had no choice other than rest for a bit, and with every flap of her wings it became harder to breath in the precious air she needed.
Flying to the top of the tallest tree she could find quickly, she reached her feet out and grasped what looked like the highest branch that could actually hold her.
Holding her breath, the young Shionnix crouched under the leaves, listening to her 'predators' run below in search for her. After a moment or two, all was silent.
Relaxing, she started to breath again. She should have known better than to let her guard down, because before she knew it she was being tackled by two small Shionnix.
"Hey!" She exclaimed, rolling onto her back using the branches to support her. Laughing she gently batted at the two youngsters with her wings, eventually getting them to stop tickling her. "We got you!" Kyo, the oldest of the two teen Shionnix said, grinning. The other, Sheishi, just grinned in a fox-like way.
"Good job you two," Ayame said, alighting down next to the three. "You two are fast, for a while there I thought Arielle would never have a small chance to land, even for a bit!" Arielle lay there, somewhat on her side panting, but with a smile on her face. "I wasn't." She told him. "They're really fast, I bet some day, they'll be the fastest Shionnix is all of the floating islands!"
Kyo puffed out his chest proudly, and Sheishi just stood there shyly, glancing down at the ground. "I bet they will," Ayame agreed. "But, it is getting a little late..." He said, nodding towards the setting sun. "We should probably head back home, so you two can rest."
"Awwww!" Kyo and Sheishi said at the same time. "I don't wanna!" Kyo complained. Arielle laughed slightly. "The sooner you'll sleep, the earlier you can get up tomorrow and we can race again." She told them, winking at Ayame. The two young Shionnix's eyes lit up, and they nodded. "Let's go Ayame!" Kyo said, and took of without waiting for a reply. Sheishi took of after her friend, leaving Ayame and Arielle alone in the tree. "I should probably go after them, before they get lost..." Ayame told his own friend, looking in the direction his cousin and Sheishi went. "It's fine, I understand." Arielle replied, smiling.
The white Shionnix nodded, and was about to take off again when he stopped. "Should we tell them?" Ayame asked, concern in his eyes. "They'll find out soon enough," Arielle replied, a little suprised at the sudden question. "Go, you don't want them getting lost." Ayame nodded, and after quickly touching noses with Arielle, took off after the two teens.
Arielle sighed as she watched them fly off into the night. They'll find out what? She asked herself, a little confused. She was rather exhausted from her race, and where she was in the tree made a rather nice nest....it wasn't long before she fell asleep; a smile on her face.

Aaaahhhh The mystery. :'D If I won, I would finish the story and it would all fall into place. <3 But I really had a lot of fun with this, and hope it actually counts for something!
