Very in tune with nature, Terrax has the uncanny ability to read the weather and predict what the next day will bring. Of course he isn't always right, but more often than not he is correct. For his age he's very wise, though he's often oblivious and doesn't always pay attention to what he's doing. Terrax is very loving and innocent in his own way, and is more of a pacifist. He's the one that leads the mares to safety when Jarek and Arivin are defending them. He has a strong sense of direction, and very rarely gets lost, even though he's partially blind. He is very fearful of the dark, though, and needs to be nearby to someone to keep his cool.
