i havent seen the staff make regular kiamaras for quite a while and now theyre taking on this too...?? expresses concern and ollies out and it looks hecka frickin rad

I'd say I was excited but I'm not really line edits are cool but I wish their wasn't the color restriction...
I mean I personally wouldn't want a Kia with the same colors as someone else... I'll have to wait and see I suppose

you can't just expect everyone to be super excited and have a blindly positive outlook on it. people will inevitably have negative opinions on things and i don't think it's yours, or anyone's, place to get down on them for that.
a little bit of criticism is healthy for art, and as this is a new event, there will be bumps that need smoothing out, and they can't be smoothed out unless you accept feedback from your audience.

{ Well you see, this is an event we are choosing to put on.
No one needs to participate if they don't want to, its as much for us the staff as everyone else.
People making negative comments means we are less likely to do this in the future.
-points to title- This is modeled after the CS Staff Litter. Which is a set palette used by the various staff members in their own ways.
Each kia is 100% unique, the fun is in seeing how one colour palette can be used to show many different designs. Therefore Destiny's comment did come across as a bit rude, since this IS an event we have zero obligation to put on, and is a chance for people to acquire line-edited kias as well as just have more overall designs to choose from.

The only difference from any other day is that ALL the staff (mods and artists alike) get to participate in making one and we're all using the same palette. There are thousands upon thousands of ways to recombine a design, its not like we're all just going to have "kias with the same colours." There are gradients for one, which make it unique, and the USAGE of colour is going to make a huge difference too. I've already designed mine so I know how many ways you can combine them, just from experimenting ^^

Yes everyone is entitled to their opinion, but as the old adage goes; if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all. No one NEEDS to try for these kiamaras, and posting negative comments on an event that's just for fun and not meant to be perfect and restricted is hurtful to those of us who loved this idea.

So no, none of us expect everyone to totally love the idea, but if you don't like it....don't say anything. And as it is, how can anyone comment on the "Art" if there are no kias or designs upon which to base their opinions? It's ridiculous and unneeded.

So to anyone wondering what this looks like (with the set palette and such) go look at previous CS staff litters ^^ Don't like the concept? Great! Don't try out and keep negative comments to yourself.

There will probably be bumps I'm sure, but we'll work those out as we go, and we aren't looking for criticism from our "audience" either, simply because we don't have an audience we have community members who are free to enter/approve/disapprove as they please.

Once the litter is posted you guys can give feedback since there will then be something to give feedback on. Until that point why not just wait and see how things turn out before posting negative comments? Just please think before you post, these sorts of things come across as hurtful...especially to those less artistically inclined (such as myself) who spent 8 hours on my final day before school designing a kiamara I adore, for you guys to adopt in November for this litter.
