Name:: Damon
Gender:: Male
Age:: 20
Personality:: Damon is a silent, gruff fellow. It's hard to see him grin often or even at all. He will be quiet or give a snarky response to anyone other than his sister. While he is intelligent, he is compulsive; attacking first or repeatedly if the mood strikes him. When left with his twin, Damon shows he is incredibly loving--in his own way. His twin is his world at the moment and her safety and happiness comes first and second. He can grow envious if his twin shows signs of suitors or any friendship that may tear their relationship apart--as he grew up with only his sister and sees her as his only companion (for now.) With a facade like water, his eyes speak for himself. His emotions are intense cesspools even if he seems stoic outside. A few words to describe him would be fierce, stoic, vindictive, relentless and reliable. He could care less if anyone attempts to flaunt their title and status--nor would he willingly back down to anyone.
Relationship with His Twin:: His sister is his entire world. He breathes and exists to protect her and salvage any redeemable aspect of himself through her. Born a tad bit older than her, he deemed it his duty to ensure she lived as fulfilling life as she could when their parents were deceased. Only his sister has seen the softer pieces of him or even know when her brother is on edge of attacking or when upset. He likes to believe he can read her moods just as she could read his.
Story on How They Joined the Pride:: The day their parents died had been a long day in winter. Game was scarce, driving them to do the feared to survive. Father had gone and retrieved food, doing what no Antlered Guardian of Destera should do; steal from the humans. In the wake of his 'hunt', father had let the sheep's blood drag forth, leading the humans right to their den. Smoke and flames scorched through their frozen wastelands, illuminating the snow-falling scenery. Torches glowed off in the distance once their bellies has been filled with their stolen treasure. An argument ensued between father and mother of his choices before they simultaneously agreed upon one thing--their cubs needed to get away. So mother did. Snatching the two in her jaws and antlers, mother fled the scene as father went to meet the humans and give his family time to successfully get away.
The female AGD sprang away as quickly as she could, coiled muscle breaking through frigid ice and pelted with sprinkling snow as her eyes desperately searched for a route away. Her mate had fallen after a fierce battle and she could smell the humans now focusing on her. Hounds were released, swift on the scent of the maned beast and her cubs. Her eyes revolved, locking on the frozen river and besides it, a tree. The large feline bounded toward it, hoping to find an entrance--to her delight, she did. It was a hole small enough for her cubs to remain and close to the water to diffuse their scent. Laying her daughter and son down into the hole, the mother gazed upon the kittens who lifted their heads to coo towards her. Their last sound, she thought as she pressed her muzzle to them. "Take care of each other. Do not follow me." She employed, extending kisses to the two before she bounded away.
The humans were now in sight by the time she returned to the river, attempting to cross it, lose them and return for her kits. The dogs swiftly attached to her hind quarters, fangs finding purchase on thick fur. A rumbling roar reverberated from her throat as she twisted and lashed out upon the mutts. Knocking the canines away, the antlered feline leaped onto the ice, crossing it with impeccable speed when an arrow sailed through, whistling and sinking past her fur, skin and grating bone.
Damon watched, trying to shield his twin as he watched the fight between his mother and the humans. He watched as the ice gave way and the humans jeered and cheered as the antlered beast was washed away. It was here, he knew he was now the only thing to defend his sister. He curled around her and for several hours, anticipated the humans finding them. Fear and terror began to pave the way for Damon's encroaching rugged outward portrayal. The male taught himself to hunt, then his sister--but made himself always to hunt for her. He attacked other beasts, claiming territory--if his sister so wished to have more land to explore. With combating emotions; his love for his sister and the sheer need to protect her along with his hatred and aggression to any outsiders, Damon grew to learn the best way to function was to remain silent and observe first, when interacting with neutral, or less hostile unknowns.
It was during their young adult stages that his sister had made it known she sought companionship--besides himself. At first the brother rebelled this idea, sneering and promising himself he was all she needed but when his sister fell ill, he grew to realized while he protected and shielded her--he could not care for her. So with a heavy heart and swallowing his pride, he sought out a pride for the two of them.
