Show Name:
Hurricane Bay
Barn Name:
Uila [Mean 'Lightning.' So cool.]
Breed:
Appaloosa
Gender:
Female
Age:
Eight Years
Mother:
Fired Up & Ready To Strike
Father:
Questionable
Personality:
Hurricane Bay is very idealistic. She is also a rather creative and enthusiastic, and can do almost anything that she sets her mind to. She has wonderful skills, and is excited by ideas. But she gets very bored with the details. Uila is very flexible and open-minded, and she does things freely. She had a huge range of interests and abilities. This mare can also be very sensitive, and doesn't like conflict, and has a wide appreciation for beauty. Hurricane Bay likes to enjoy the moment before it's gone, but gets off-track easily. She tends to not be the best listener, and can be quick to jump on something. This appy is always going outside her physical limits and trying to be the best. She's very competitive and fast, making her great for competitions. Uila can be rather rude when in the heat of the moment, but in the end she will be very apologetic.
No matter the pros and cons of Uila's personality, she's a faithful and dependent mare of her word.
Story:
Crash! Thunder roars overhead like symbols being smashed together. Lightning turns night into day like the sun would. Water floods the streets, the houses, covering every inch of dry land. A hurricane is rocking the land brutally, and it isn't showing mercy anytime soon. Inside a small barn, a mare shivers and shudders, writhes and gasps for air. Her belly is plump, and she is ready to give birth. A young man sits with her, shooting wary glances about, hoping that nothing happens in this terrible storm.
"Come on, baby." He says soothingly, stroking the mare's muzzle.
She just snorts and gives a nicker of pain as a hoof starts to appear. Then another hoof. Slowly, a head. Then a neck, an abdomen, and, oh my, the hind legs! "It's almost over." The man says, getting excited himself. Suddenly, with a shock of lightning and a crash of thunder, the foal slipped out. The mare raises her head, trying to get a look at it.
The man can only smile and the foal looks around, shivering slightly. In a few moments, she stands shakily and wobbles to her mother. The mare snorts and nuzzles her baby, her eyes glinting with happiness.
The man rubs her head softly. "What we gonna call her, girl?" He says. The mare snorts and nuzzles her foal as more thunder and lightning fight overhead. "How 'bout Hurricane Bay? And we'll call her Uila for short." He says, the name popping into mind.
The young foal raised her head abruptly upon hearing the words, eyes scanning the human. The man chortled softly and nodded to the foal, as though coming to an equal decision on the name. Finally, the foal gave a small snort and closed her eyes, exhausted.
-------------------::::::-------------------
Uila charged around her mother, eyes fiery. Ever since she's been born, the foal had been different. One of the fastest young horses in the barn already, she shot past the grazing mares, geldings, and stallions. Receiving a few snorts, she grinned and lengthened her stride.
The mare was already becoming rather dazzling, and her fur was always shining. She kept running until the clouds broke and rain poured down. The mare paused, tasting the rain as droplets spilled down. Many other took off running towards the barn, rain dousing them as they disappeared into the safeness of the game.
But Hurricane Bay stayed. She started to run, letting the cool fluids from the sky douse her. She was enveloped in cold, but her running contradicted it.
She races in the rain.████████████████████████████████████████Marcus Garvey wrote:Look for me in the whirlwind of the storm.

Show Name: Amazing Gracie
Barn Name: Gracie
Breed: Appaloosa
Gender: Female
Age: Six years
Eyes: Heterochromia blue and brown
Riding Style: Western
Best Competition: Trail Rides
Worst Competition: Dressage
Personality along with History: Gracie is a very feisty and tough mare who has had a hard six years of life. She was abused as a foal for the simple fact she had one brown eye and one blue eye. Wasn't good enough to sell since the breeders were top notch. She was a tough girl though and endured those years until she was sold to a man who used her for work, and eventually over worked her to the point where she was malnourished and near death. A lady named, Molly found her in the bad state and bribed the man to take the horse and has kept her since. Gracie is happy and gets along with other horse well. She enjoys their company. Also she is diva sometimes and doesn't like change. Such as new bits or different riding techniques. This young mare always has the energy to get out and ride the long trails on the property in which she is living and loves her large happy ball which she plays with out in the pasture. The company of horses and loving people bring her joy.

Show Name: Ring Around the Roses
Barn Name: Roses
Breed: Appaloosa
Gender: Female
Age: 8 Years
Personality: Roses is sweet, but tends to be rather flighty, especially around new places or people. She gets along well, surprisingly, with geldings, but can get nippy and nervous when around other mares. She does enjoy dressage, funneling all of her nervous energy into hitting the mark just right.

Theme Song.
Title: Shake The Sugar Tree
By: Pam Tillis
Love you're gettin' lazy
You're forgettin' to give me
Sweet sugar words that I want to hear
You've been neglectin' me
You know jealousy, it is bitter as a green spring berry
You're like fruit from a fickle vine
You turn sweet in the nick of time
Love, you only come alive when you're losin' me
And it's a childish game
I've got to shake you up just to wake you up
To make you love me
Chorus:
I'll shake the sugar tree
Till I feel your love falling
All around me
You've got to tend to what you've planted
And if you take my love for granted baby
I'll shake the sugar tree
Another night and you're sleepin'
I'm awake and I'm dreamin'
Oh honey 'bout the way you used to be
A little time's gone by
Now do you think that I'm content
With the cookin' and the payin' of the rent
No, I wanna know if your love's all spent
Chorus
I've got to raise some commotion
Before you show me
Some real emotion
Art:

Short Story: Annie's heart raced standing at the chalk line. In front of her stood 8 jumps. Taking in a sharp breath as her rider kicked her sides. Jolting forward she slowed down from the gallop she started with. She hadn't jumped many times so it always worried her. Coming up on a jump she pinned her ears back and sped up slightly. Front feet lifting off the ground kicking the odd mixture of dirt and sand off the ground. Back feet leaving the ground, her heart pounded. Breathing in sharply as her front feet hit the ground. First jump she cleared with no faults. Rounding a turn another jumped appeared in front of her. She jumped, but a little to soon, her back legs clipping the top pole. It teetered for a few seconds before rested back into it's normal position. Her rider let out a sigh of relief. Riding straight she came up on another jump. It was a simple one but till very intimidating. Picking up off the ground she soared over the jump. Hitting the ground her rider glanced back to see all three bars still there. Snorting she looked at the jump ahead, it was the tallest of the 8 which worried her. Coming up quickly on the jump at the right time she pick up off the ground. Flying over the jump her back legs clipped the top pole. As they hit the ground so did the top pole. Shaking her head the rider frowned "I know you can do better than that." She said to Annie. Coming up on jump five she was determined to clear it with a foot of room. Speeding up slightly she was slowed down by her rider. Snorting she jumped off the ground. Hurdling over the jumped she cleared it a few inches. Not what she wanted but it's better than knocking a pole down. She calmly made her way around to the next 2 jumps, barely clearing them but no poles falling. The final jump was coming up. Annie's heart raced as the neared it. When her rider gave the signal she jumped. Trying not to close her eyes she flew over the jump. She got the foot of clearance that she had wanted. Landing on the ground with a thud she bolted over the other chalk line finishing. Her score had placed her at 2nd place. Her rider hugged her ecstatically, they usually got 6th or 7th place, practice does pay off.

Title: Springtime
By: ~Country~
The smell of rain
A little grass stain
Flowers blooming
Storm clouds looming
Children having fun
The horses will run
Hearts beating fast
We hope this day will last
Smiles apon faces
The warmth embraces
a springtime day
I hope it will stay.

Blame is a coward but self-righteous
A funny little creature hiding out in me
Hate is power with a price tag
A funny little creature screaming out in me
Listen to me
Fear is a liar but he's been right before
If you fight your shadow, you'll get lost in a war
Ambitions a champ, but he's also greedy
Drunk or sober he always wants more
I always want more
I always want more
Lust is beauty in a body bag
A funny little thing that's screaming "Just use me!"

Show Name: Dakota Rose
Barn Name: Kota
Breed: Appaloosa
Gender: Female
Age: 18 Years
Riding Style: Western
History: Kota was born wild, half mustang half appaloosa. She roamed the mountains of the Appalachians, born from the lead mare and stallion of her herd. She grew up into her herd, destined to become the next lead mare. Instead of that glorious herd title, she was rounded from her herd and captured, being brought to a farm that excelled with horse handling. She was trained expertly, even though many voiced their opinions about her never having a chance in the competition world. She showed them wrong however, having quickly transformed from a wild horse to an elegant, well-rounded show horse. She was one of the best western horses in her time, and easily won many big title competitions. Her owners were kind and never was she even considered for sale.
Personality: When Kota was first seperated from her herd, she was wild and unmanageble. She wanted nothing more than to have her freedom back. Though, as the years went on in her training, she began realizing that the luxuries she experienced was a fair trade off for her old freedom, and learned to trust humans. She went from being completely out of control, stubborn, and aggressive, to a docile, sweet, and determined show horse.
