WTE #290: Striped Olive Dun

Postby Tigermay » Wed Jul 31, 2013 5:18 am

Don't you just love those random ideas you get way too late at night? I was done with stallions so here's a fancy mare! My other mares will be more to the 'less colorful than stallions' standard, Pause. xP
She was too green at first so I had to airbursh over her and her beautiful stripes. *moment of silence for the loss of sharp stripes* Her striping gene seems to have corrupted her dun genes, mmm.

Owner: Jadeghost
Name: Kaida, which in Japanese means "little dragon."
Age: She is five years of age.
Personality:
Kaida is slightly smaller in size even for a mare. While she is not short, the rest of her body has always been petite and lithe...completely in contrast to her fiery and explosive personality. She is a firecracker waiting to go off. Kaida seems to have endless energy, and even though she is past the age of a filly she still has trouble deciding what to do with all of it. While physically she is quite strong despite her size, she is mentally "weak" in that she is easily distracted and cannot focus on any one thing for too long. This does not mean she is unintelligent, but Kaida has trouble getting the others around her to respect her. Her mind is as muddled as her coat, and sometimes it takes her a while to sort out her thoughts. Like some of her markings, she often has great ideas that branch out from every direction, but for some reason they never quite make it out of her own head. She is a tough mare to get along with only because being around her takes some getting used to. But once you gain her trust, you have gained a lifelong friend, and Kaida will never abandon you no matter the circumstances.
Her favorite activities include running as well as exploring. For a mare she is quite the wanderer, much to the annoyance of the stallions that must keep watch over her. Kaida has been known to let her curiosity get her into some pretty dangerous situations, but she does not fear danger or even death itself. She is very daring and a tough spirit to tame.
Gender: Mare
Height: 15.2hh
Genes: Bay base: Aa= Pangare, Aa= Dun, AA= Stripes

Also, only 10 WTEs 'till 300. Get excited!

Username: Makani Black
Name: Rosario
Age: 4 years
Personality: Rosario is a young mare that likes to be on her own most of the time due to some bad experiences. Many stallions tried to get her in their bands but she would simply run off at night. She likes to play when she believes no one is around.
Why do you want her: She is absolutely stunning.
Your plans for her: I plan to role play with her and make stories about her. [Need to really start doing that.]
How many other WTEs do you own: 1

Name:
Gaia

Age:
9

Personality:
Mysterious, kind, caring and has a good sense of humour. She has a very serious side that she doesn't always show but when it does she makes things happen. She is protective over her close friends and family and will stand up to them if she has to.

Why do you want her:
I have been looking for a new mare for ages and she is just too perfect, I love how her markings represent trees and as earth is one of my favourite elements and I love going to the forestry near where I live she is really too good to pass up on :). The fact that her eye is green.. I just couldn't resist trying to win her.

Your plans for her:
Well she would be drawn and put in my character thread. I would possibly breed her.

How many other WTEs do you own:
7: Dwr, Dash, Dragon, Ferrous, William, Spring and Crimson

Other:

This photo reminded me of her colours and markings, it had a magical feel to it. It is also where I imagine Gaia to spend most of her time.
Below, a sketch and a drawing of her.

Name: Filial
Age: 6
Personality:Filial is the mothering type of Whip Tailed Equine, spending time with her family, enjoying the sheer peacefulness of it. She likes to spend time with others, whether it's adventuring or just grazing. Filial is an excellent peacekeeper, finding solutions to all arguments and issues. Don't let her soft, loving side fool you though. She is determined, fierce and protective. She will do anything to keep her family together, not even hesitating to sacrifice herself. Filial, a nurturing and caring mare, also has a loyal and independent side, which keeps her family together.
Why do you want her: I was looking at her and realized that her markings represent tree branches. To me, the branches represent the importance of family and family history. She represents all that I stand for.
Your plans for her: I will definitely be breeding her, as well as drawing traditional art. I may roleplay wither her, because she would be wonderful in one. She'll definitely have a place in my stories, and will be revered as a character.
How many other WTEs do you own: 8, Streetlights, Taysa, Lute, Penns, Blaidd, Elias, Bohemia, and Curlicue.

Name: Brunneis (Bru - it means brown in Latin, not very inventive but it fits.)

Age: 6

Personality: Bru is a gentle girl who is a bit quiet, she's not shy but prefers to stay on the side lines rather than get involved in anything. However, if your in trouble, she gives good, helpful advice often to the young ones of the herd. Because of this a Bru is often thought of as Pacific's advisor as well as his long term mate, the pair rarely leave each others side.

Why do you want her: I would love to have her as a member of my small herd because I think her personality fits with those of the others as a kind of opposite, I think she would be perfect fit with them as an advisor mothering figure and so I would be able to really build on her from that.

Your plans for her: When I first saw her I thought sh would be a good mate for my stally Pacific but she would be a lot more than that, I'm planning on making a thread for them and as my second adopted female (hopefully) she would be a main slot on it with her beautiful design - I don't know how many artists draw WTEs but with her fancy patterns I'd love to try drawing her myself.

How many other WTEs do you own: I own four, my stally Pacific, his two daughters Kara and Pyre and my newest mare Firecracker.

Extras:

Likes:

Flowers (poppies)
Sunshine
Being right
Having her herd in sight
Her mate, Pacific

Dislikes:

Insects
Thorn-ed flowers (roses)
Winter time
Shadows
Being alone too much

History:

Bru was not bred in the herd like the other mares and spent the majority of her life alone after her mother died in a fire, and it was only by chance she stumbled across Pacific and his small but close group while fleeing from one of the forest animals. Being the brave stally he is Pacific came to help, inadvertently winning her heart as well as the fight and bringing the question,
"Could I join your herd?"
Of course he couldn't turn the beautiful mare away and now they are mates.

Why do you want her:
I've been keeping an eye out for a mare to mate with my stallion Ryoma for a while now, and there haven't been many to catch my eye yet, until I saw this mare. Her coat is absolutely beautiful, I love her markings, and I think it would match up well with Ryoma. Plus I can't resist dun or buckskin whiptails in the first place <3
Your plans for her:
I plan on breeding her a few times with my stallion Ryoma, as mentioned above. I'm also currently working on a story about all my whiptails, which is currently at a standstill until I find Ryoma's mate. She will be the last I adopt, except for the foals I breed of course.
How many other WTEs do you own:
I have five currently: Solana, Phantom, Amon, Lyra, and Ryoma. They can all be found here!
Extras:

Sickness. Death. Those were the words running through the herd's mind as they stared down at their newest member. The tiny little foal looked as if her very veins were about to burst through her fragile skin. Her breathing was shallow and labored, and she still had yet to stand on her own two feet. The only one who dared get close was her mother, who was desperately trying to nudge her baby to her feet. But little Kaida, as she had been named, lay motionless and still.
Her situation seemed hopeless. Hours rolled by and still the foal did not move. The herd had been waiting for the baby to stand before they would move on; but the storm was almost upon them. If Kaida did not get to her feet within the next hour, the herd would be forced to leave her and her mother behind.
The mare had finally worked her muzzle under her baby's belly, and was trying to force the young newborn to her feet. Little Kaida seemed to realize the danger they were in, but she could not get her legs to remain in the proper position. With a jolt, her mother realized that there was nothing wrong with her foal, and that the "veins" were merely markings on her unique coat. She tried desperately to call for help from the herd, but none would come. If she and Kaida were going to make it out alive, they were on their own.
Again and again, Kaida got to her feet: only to fall right back into the dust. Small droplets of rain now began to fall from the sky, frightening the foal and making her panic. Frantically she tried and tried, but now her terror was only making the situation worse. Thunder and lightning began to crack overhead, sending the baby into a blind panic. Just as the herd was about to take off without them, a stallion broke away from the main group: Kaida's father.
Quickly he nudged his child to her feet one last time. Bracing herself for the impact of the fall that never came, little Kaida could only stare at her father in shock. But they had no time. The baby that had only just found her footing would now have to outrun a storm. With her parents standing protectively on either side of her, the little family took off as rain began to pelt onto their thick coats. Kaida stumbled in the mud that was beginning to form and even fell on her face several times, but her parents refused to let her give up, and they would not leave her.
Finally, they reached the shelter of the forest, where the mare quickly found a safe place for them all to take sanctuary. After nursing for the first time, the little foal fell asleep to the gentle lull of the rain.
