Sand Surfers are small, furry creatures that stand about a twenty inches tall, fifteen inches long, and weigh an average of seven pounds for both genders. These animals are native to the deserts of Egypt, India, and Africa. The Sand Sufer's coat is thin and soft, making for easy travel across the sand. You may have noticed the large tail at the ends of their bodies. Sand Surfer's use their muscled tail to "surf" across sand in the desert. These creatures live mainly underground in complex tunnels that are about five feet below the surface to keep cool. Sand Surfers are omnivores, meaning they eat both meat and plant material. A common food of the species are small rodents, small birds, small reptiles, berries, grasses, and nuts. They also eat eggs of other animals when they can get their hands on them.

Name: Almond (like the nut)

7 word describe: Funny.Brave.Thoughtful.Silly.affectionate.sympathetic.Caring.

short story: Almond groaned as he dragged himself throw the harsh blowing snow, Almond was desperate to get home after what had happened. A tear fell down his cheek as he thought of the sad moment. Trekking through the heavy snow was exhausting as he sat down taking a rest. "I can do this!" he told himself. After that he kept going, the cold snow blowing on his face wouldn't stop him from what he was desperate to getting to. He saw a large white figure in the distant. He thought it was just some ice and kept moving till he heard a couple of groan's and grunt's. He stopped, he looked around slowly and came face to face with a polar bear. It stared at him then pounced. Almond was lucky enough to escape running quickly. He tripped on a icicle. He fell on the ground and got up quickly, his vein's flowing through him quickly and his heart pumping he took a big gulp and stood back up. The polar bear was catching up almost a tail length away. He ran and then came to a dead-end. He stopped and tried climbing up the ice hooking his claw's into it pulling himself up. It was no use he fell back down and the bear was there, waiting for his dinner. the bear approached but before he could lay a claw on him almond quickly eyed a rabbit. The rabbit saw him and it quickly turned the other way. The bear heard the scurrying paw-step's and ran torward's the animal leaving Almond safe. But, not for long. He continued his trek but stopped and he heard a rumbling sound under the ice. He again quickly made his way through the ice but he heard it again. He looked down and saw a Orca, it didn't see him but it was right under him. He didn't care if anyone heard him at this point. He ran! He ran sideway's, backward's and everywhere to escape. The bear had come back but he had already killed the rabbit he turned back to Almond but the Orca also saw him and broke through the ice making a giant splash onto the ice with his mouth open. The bear ran away but left Almond to die. He jumped quickly onto the Orca's muzzle/mouth before he could open it then hopped on his back escaping. He felt good to be alone again and soon reached home. The fresh grass greeting him nicely and he was actually very happy to see some tree's.
