Seneca - "People Of The Standing Stone", largest tribe of NY, the Five Nations of the Iroquois Confederation. It was also the Romanized name of a village/town, which is what I actually meant for it to be, rather than the name of the actual people (which has also been Romanized).
He accepts the fact that he now lives with people, and that he is no longer "free," but he's still pretty iffy about being touched, groomed, etc. He hates being picked up. He can tolerate being held, perching on someone's lap while they are sitting or laying down, but he will not remain in their arms while they're standing up. He prefers being draped about someone's neck or sitting atop their shoulder or head to being held in any way. He likes being scratched behind the ears, and is learning well to come when his name is called. He also likes to play rather roughly with other smaller animals (tackling and rolling around, having a relentless grip on a tail, etc.), though a large dog's ears are an excellent target for playful nips and are very useful for directing the dog's movement. He is possessive of his food.
