The Lost soul wrote:It's a silent night. The sun just set and you're late for getting home. The birds have nestled away into their crooks and crannies, accompanied by the mice that shivered in the cold. The area was stiff with tension and it made the hair on the back of your neck stand on end... goose bumps raked your whole body, and you find yourself shaking. There's this chill in the air you can't explain, and you have come to a stop, unsure if you're alone when....

Like a passing wraith, the beast slips out of the shadows, bathed in moonlight. You think it has a mane of blue fire.... but it's just a mane of some sort... then it turns it's head and you tense up at the sight....

It's wearing a skull. You're unsure of what kind, or by what way, it achieved this mask of bone, but it gives you the chills. It is silent as it's icy blue eyes bore into you like daggers. It rears up, and let's out a roar. You fall back and slam down to the ground, covering your face in instinctual defense.... but no attack comes. By the time you look up, the beast is over you, growling.
"Who are you" It's voice breaths out.... as cold as the winter's ice. You're scared.... this beast is not moved by the temptation to kill... and it shows in his eyes.

Give your name, personality, and a scene. I want something descriptive.... a small story of what he might of done... or your own little horror story. Can be however long, no limit, and can have anything in it. I want gore, I want terror, I want to be on the verge of paranoia. C'mon people, give me scary! Decorate your form! It makes it so much nicer. Effort is everything!

ALSO!!!!

I do not believe in darkness being evil. I believe evil deceives us by looking like good, and appears as the Light. If you incorporate this into the story.... well.... I will be very much happy.

Also, I will give you the story of the mask, and his blue eyes, after the companion process is fulfilled, and over.

Leave it to me to freak myself out. Just my daily dose of Ghost Adventures, like any other night. Only, any other night I wouldn't be walking through the cold in the middle of the night. I sighed deeply, my arms wrapping around my torso as I attempted to sink deeper into my coat. Also the wrong night to wear converses. Stylish, sexy, comfortable; not worth a darn on Ice.

The silence was deafening. It took me a while to notice, but the normal twitters of the birds, or late night snuffling of the various forest creatures had ceased. I had walked this path a thousand times before, and could walk it in my sleep. But something about tonight was…off. The birds were too quiet- not alarming at my presence as they normally did. It was as if they were too frightened to even shift in their twiggy homes. I got an uneasy feeling in the pit of my being. My stomach fluttered uneasily in tandem with my heart; the hairs on the back of my neck stood at end, and my muscles quivered, not solely from the cold. My pace slowed from the high stepping jog I had been doing, to a slow, creeping shuffle. My eyes scanned the darkness, my ears ringing with the strain of simply trying to hear the slightest sound, until finally I stopped moving completely. I recognized the place-faintly. Though in the darkness, the snow, and the ice, it wasn’t the jovial sun filled oasis I knew it to be. Instead, it was a gleaming grove of uncertainty.

Still, it was beautiful in its own right. I preferred the dark and creepy to the sunshine and gay feelings. Not everything is as it seems. I had learned that first hand a while back. Those plastered smiles and well behaved masks of certain folks weren’t as forgiving and understanding as they often times seemed. They were, instead, judgmental and hateful- stuck in their ways and closed minded.
The way I see it, evil and the like try to blend in too much. They are so focused on seeming normal-in seeming Good – that they don’t have the time to dwell in their stereotyped habitats.

It was then that I noticed something was near. I laughed to myself, waving a hand. I was certain I was terribly alone. Until I saw it. I felt as though I were hallucinating- everything moved very slowly, languidly. Something illuminated the tree line, fading in and out of view as it moved through the forest- each tree providing momentary cover, before it was shimmering through the darkness once more. I was stunned. I had never seen anything like it- some never ending flame, with an intense cobalt hue- of course the purest of flames. I noticed then that it wasn’t flames at all- But hair. Fur, more like. And it belonged to a creature I had never before encountered- and wasn’t too sure I’d want to. It had fur of the darkest grays, and the creamiest whites with intriguing markings on its massive shoulders. It hadn’t a tail, though what it lacked in its caboose, it made up for in its sleek, arching back, and its massive, lethal paws. It had elegant, slender ears- of which were pricked, and swiveling. It can hear me breathing- I realized. Though, really-what couldn’t? No sooner had I thought those words, than the creature looked towards me. Maybe it was its piercing crystal eyes, or maybe it was the massive skull it wore on it’s face. Either way, My muscles went taut, and my heart stopped. It felt as though an eternity passed between us-the creature and I. And, as quickly as it had happened, it ended. The creature stood on it’s hind legs- its movements languid and smooth, its jowls opened to reveal shimmering razors, and it let loose a hellacious roar that resonated through the forest-sending birds to flight, and creatures to fleeing-myself along with them.

I muttered an oath, and turned on my heels, wheeling away from the creature. I stumbled, trying to force my numb limbs forward- begging my sinew to push me through the snow and far away from that place as possible. I thought I was doing well for a bit, until I slipped. Curse these infernal converses! I glanced down to see why I had slipped, and was still skating along. I’d unwittingly stumbled upon a river, frozen over form the harsh winter we’d had. I was thankful for that much-at least should I have fallen It would hold my weight. Still, with the urge to flee growing stronger, and my inevitable impending doom nipping at my heels, I couldn’t find my balance; instead, my forehead became very well acquainted with the river’s own façade.
My vision danced and I curled where I’d fallen ,awaiting…anything. Teeth to pull my flesh from it’s bone, claws to shred through my sinew and render me immobile…anything. But attack there came none. I rolled to my back with a groan and sat up, rubbing my temple gingerly. A pool of black surrounded me, and vermillion stained my hands and face. Scalp wounds bled the most, I heard. Guess I could vouch for that, now. I muttered another curse. Why Had I ran through the snow, knowing full well I didn’t have any sort of traction? My mind had played tricks on me, and I’d submitted to its games. I sighed and glanced up, only to come nose to nose with the very creature I had ran from. Our breath spiraled skyward, entwining with one another in their ascent-two smoky dragons released form their prison and rejoicing in their combined freedom. It was a surreal sort of bonding between the creature and I. Then, as if it had grown weary of watching the display, It’s eyes were on me-burning into my own.
Who are you? It rumbled- a voice that chilled me to the bone, and sent goose bumps along my skin. I opened my mouth to speak, but no sound came out. I was shocked-again. This thing can speak?! I stammered, and stuttured, and cleared my throat all in vain.
Your name. it demanded again, a bit more force behind his lyrics. I shook my head and moved ot stand-slipping until I made it to the riverbank. The rocks below the snow were just as slick as the ice, however, so I hadn’t seemed as graceful as I would have liked. The creature paced towards me with unparalleled grace and ease, even on the ice. Its patience seemed to know no bounds, for again it asked my name, and Again I denied to tell it. With a heaving sigh, the creature paced towards me, circled me, and came to a stop in front of me. My name is Erebus Gotzon. And I think you’d better come with me.

This is a dream. It has to be. I thought to myself. There was no way I would have found a magnificent, and equally frightening creature –that spoke- and it would show any interest in me other than devouring me. I was both elated and frightened. I followed the creature, despite my better judgment, and trudged through the snow. My teeth chattered and my muscles quivered. The creature paused on occasion to look back at me- it's eyes full of wisdom and thought, and something a bit darker- before it would shake it's head and continue on. There was something haunting about the way that skull rattled when he moved, the little string of beads clinging in their own right as he glided so easily through the snow.

" I haven't heard a name like that before.." I managed to stutter as I jogged to catch up to him. While I was frightened of him, I didn't want to be alone either. He flicked a long ear back at me, and gave a soft huff- a chuckle almost.
" I don't suppose you have. Its a mixture of Basque and Greek mythology." He didn't offer any further information, so I bit my lip, and glanced around. We had come to a dark and barren part of the forest- a sort of sinister clearing. The bare trees stretched skyward in awkward, twisting ways-jutting across the sky to block the sliver of moon . My heart thumped uneasily.
" wh-what does it mean?" I asked softly, slowing my pace to look after him. he swung around in a slow, fluid movement- like a mountain lion slinking through some trees.
" It means Dark Angel." He rumbled. I didn't have the heart nor the courage to ask why that was his name.
Instead, I swallowed the lump in my throat, and closed my eyes to accept my fate.

POEM:

I see through hollow eyes,
and eat through lifeless jowls.
Scents waft through a hollow gap,
and sound caresses an empty space,
My face is hard as bone, you see-
I wear a skull upon my face.

My mane is fire-y blue,
My eyes of coldest crystals,
a bead I have from behind my ear,
and tacked on to my mask,
It is of lightest cobalts too,
In my glory most fear to bask.

I am an angel,
who resides in the dark,
That for which I am named,
Many Secrets I have,
but I won't tell ,for
Your confusion makes me laugh.

I have no tail,
and fairly long ears,
I've got massive paws,
and oddly striped fur,
I was born this way,
though most only see a blur.

I have found one,
for me to protect,
To call a companion,
To call my friend,
Her name is of a blue hue too,
I'll be her dark spirit till the end.

If you're looking for love, Know that love don't live here anymore. He left with my heart. They both walked through that door, without me. If you're trying to find pity well, you need to look somewhere else, 'Cause I surely can't help you, I'm hurting myself. I've turned into someone else...

Name:
Lucifel
Meaning/Reason of choosing: Lucifel/Lucifael is the angelic name of Lucifer, the fallen angel most everyone has heard of. Something about this guy's design and mysterious atmosphere made me think of Lucifer, but I've always preferred his name that came before his fall.
Secondary name: Dantel
Meaning/Reason of choosing: Dantel means enduring, or lasting. It's a variation off of Dante, which came to mind due to Dante's Inferno. The idea of Hell follows this Jsarin for me, and I'm not sure why. Likely the blue mane; I've always thought Hell burns cold.
Gender: Male
Personality: Lucifel looks imposing, but he's generally harmless. He sits back and watches the fate of those around him unfold. Occasionally he'll tip the scales in one way or another, but he doesn't have either side picked. Light, dark, good, evil.. it's all the same. It's all so boring. Sometimes he'll phase into people's dreams and stop their untimely deaths, or even cause them. Lucifel isn't good or evil; think chaotic neutral. He just wants to watch things unfold and keep them interesting.
He's quiet, and some even believe him to be mute. Words aren't his favourite tool; he'd rather impart visions using his magic.

Tiny history: Lucifel's always preferred colder planets, places that are quiet and cold, devoid of life. He's only come back to earth because he grew considerably bored.

Uneasily the young adult made his way back to his little shared home on the hill. It wouldn't be long now; thankfully. Maybe he could put the night behind him; the premonition that came true. His black jacket masked the blood on him easily, though the blood dried on his face was harder to hide. He lived forty minutes from town, however, and it was unlikely anyone would drive by and question him. His steps were slow, mis-matched, staggered; his body was exhausted from running, and his mind was as empty as his pale, bloodied face.

Nothing could've prepared him for the event, except for the dream he had a few nights ago. A dream in which an unsettling dark brown creature bearing a skull mask visited him, warning of him of the impending event. ..But who ever invests heavily in their dreams? He took in a deep breath, stopping for a moment to rest; every step more painful than the last. Just as he closed his eyes, it all came back to him.

Rescuing wildlife was nothing new to the boy. How many times had he found a trapped creature and set it free? It was hard to count, honestly. The sun was just starting to sink below the horizon, but the cries of the trapped beast were too heart wrenching to ignore. He wandered to the abandoned shack, fishing in his pockets for some kind of light. The light on his cellphone would have to do, he decided, as he opened the door and let himself in. Shining the light, he walked quietly through the tiny shack, trying to pinpoint the whimpering sound. There it was, a tiny fawn. He frowned, noticing how bloodied up the creature was. The last thing he had expected were the two, creamy white feathered wings folded at the fawn's back.

...Just like his dream. Mmh. Maybe he had fallen asleep on his walk. He shook his head, kneeling down and whispering sweet words to calm the panicking animal as he undid the trap it had found itself into. Just as he undid the creature, he felt the entire atmosphere change. Before he could react, sharp teeth were so deeply set into his arm that they touched bone, rousing a loud screech of pain from his throat. He quickly looked down at the animal, only to find it had morphed into something sinister now. The fawn was no longer a sweet, spotted thing; rather, something made of a black shadow-y mass, empty eye sockets, razor-sharp teeth and antlers. He managed to knock the fawn off, displacing his phone in the process.

Image

The struggle was short lived once he found his hunting knife. Still, the damage was done-- deep bites into his arm that already swelled as if infected, a large cut to his side, a broken nose, and minor head wound. (The last two were his own fault; slipping in the puddle of shadowy liquid the creature bled and falling into the floor of the shack.)

He exhaled sharply as he came back to reality with the sound of a loud roar. No, he knew exactly what he was about to see. His eyes wearily peered open, looking straight in the light blue of the Jsarin.

"
Who are you?"
What a rich question to ask. "Who am I? Who are you?"
"
Lucifel."
Lucifel. How appropriate. He would've smirked if he weren't bleeding and in so much pain. "Why were you in my dreams?"
The beast stepped a bit closer, the moonlight making his mane look aflame as it rustled with every silent step. "
To warn you, obviously. Not that you listened. Have you learned your lesson? That not everything is as it seems?"
The man gave a tiny grunt. Alright, maybe there was a lesson to come of all of this-- not that he'd readily admit it. "Yeah, I guess," he muttered, giving a tiny hiss as the wound at his side began to sting. He swore the beast had begun to smirk under its bone helm.
"
Good. I've chosen you as my companion."
"..W-what? Why?"
"
The forces of light and dark amuse me. I don't lay claim to either side, they're just.. interesting; and they're focused on you, for some reason or another. I don't particularly care why, honestly. You are where the entertainment is, and it's that simple."
The boy's lips pulled to a stern, disapproving frown. "What the hell are you? What makes you think I'm going to agree to this, huh?" He would've crossed his arms for emphasis, but he figured that would cause more pain than it was worth.
Lucifel was growing impatient. Lowering his head, he gave a quiet, low growl; moving forward. He lowered down unto his tail-less rear before the boy, his massive paws digging into the soft earth below. "
I am a Jsarin. You'll agree to this because I can keep you alive. Otherwise, you're as good as dead. Now, give me a secondary name, companion."
Mmh.. well, he wasn't really in any position to question any further. He didn't want to bleed out, afterall. "F-fine," he breathed out, wincing in pain and closing his eyes, "Dantel."
Lucifel grinned, his long ears flickering back upon his skull. A companion to call his own.
