It chose this photo because there are so many things that connect with me from my past, an example being the postcards. My mother was a very fond collector of cards and postcards and anything that told stories of places she dreamed of going. For a large part of her life, she was stuck in a small town where she had no future; there was a very high chance of her staying there forever. So she collected the cards, dreaming of someday traveling the world. And then she met my father, who took her traveling and brought her to live in (I can't tell you exactly where because you'd know where I live.) a different country, a 'big city' you could call it. I was brought up with a love of travel; my mother passed down all the cards and postcards to me on my 10th birthday and I've kept them ever since, adding more and more to my collection. So every time I see a postcard, it reminds me of that story.
