♒ Personality ♒

True to her gypsy basing, Naiya spends most of her time wandering around, looking to forge new relationships and experiences. Those who have spoken with her describe her always note the faraway look in her eyes and the wispy sound of her voice. Though she is known by many, few can say they truly understand her. Her calm exterior hides a vibrant and rambunctious young Koi Koi, and the only sign of this is the kanji on her fan. "Freedom"; a very abstract term. Naiya has often wondered why the Sakura trees endowed this fan to her. Perhaps it was because they foresaw the striking similarities that she and the idea of freedom possessed. Both are elusive yet alluring, opaque yet golden.

♒ Story ♒

It's well known that Koi Kois aren't truly complete without their koi fish companions. They are expected, from the very beginning, to find or be given a fish. Naiya however, had a much different approach to this. At one year old, her parents approached her with the intention of giving her a koi fish, but she only shook her head with a gentle smile, asking their permission to forge a relationship on her own. Rather hesitantly, they agreed.
What happened to the fish, you ask? After hearing Naiya's request, her parents released the golden koi into its home pond, wishing it luck in the future.
The next day, Naiya wandered her way over to the same pond and sat by the rippling water. She observed the dancing koi under the surface, giggling as they spiraled and jumped for her amusement. The sun filtering through the sakura trees made her feel drowsy, and she prepared to slip into the beautiful world of dreams. Then a flash of gold, nearly blending in with the rays of sunlight, caught her eye. What caught her attention was that the gold area was in fact a koi fish, contrastingly stationary among it's playful kin.
So much like herself, among her energetic friends.
Who would've thought that Ronan, the koi designated by her parents, would turn out to be her soul companion?
