{Her favourite accessory is a little gold necklace with a small, metal Western Emerald hummingbird that was handpainted to the right colours of the hummingbird. She loves it because the Western Emerald hummingbird is her favourite animal and also because she thinks it looks like her. Chimalis will always try to wear it all the time - even when she's sleeping if she can!}
{Straight away when I looked it I thought of a bird, the paler blue markings on her ears, back, tail and paws look like ruffled feathers to me and the coloration is extremely similar to that of the Western Emerald Hummingbird. It even has some gold feathers that look like the spots on Chimalis. To compare the design and the actual bird, Have a look at this photograph.Such similarity!}

Her name will be Kusuma, & Her nickname Suma.

Kusuma has found one thing to keeps with her always, her Sari (Indian head scarf).
She doesn't wear it all the time, but carries it with her most places she goes.




Kusuma was born in, and grew up in, India. She had an instructor over the years, who taught her
everything she knew of her home, from the language and dance, to the culture and traditions, as well
as her typical studies. Once she became of age, it was decided that she would move to the states,
to live where there were more of her kind, so that she wasn't isolated as much as she had been.

As a parting gift, her instructor gave her a red & tan Sari, with white & gold beading on it.
As he gave it to her, he told her to always remember where she came from, and to never
forget the values and traditions she'd learned. The Sari did help her to think of this,
and to comfort her in the times of homesickness that came after she left.

For the longest time, the Sari was a safety blanket of sorts, and though she was teased,
she never took it off. She talked often with her instructor on the phone, and eventually she
became comfortable with where she lived. She ventured out in the community more, and
gained confidence. With that confidence, she found the courage to take off her Sari and leave
it at home. She still has the Sari, and often carries it around. However, now it is more of
a reminder of what she has been through than a safety blanket she needs to survive.

She reminded me of a doily as well, but I chose to base my form on India.
