Story:
This is done through Nemo's (as an anthro or humanized) 1st person view ^^
The wind whipped through the masts, tuggin' at sails and whistlin' through the nettin'. I could feel 'er leapin' on the waves, excited fer 'er first day out. T'was the day ta let loose the Nautilus, my father's legacy. She was a ship not ta be reckoned with, and t'would soon be unrivaled in all the seven seas. My pa, also known as one a the greatest nautical engineers, had designed 'er 'imself; t'was with the greatest a difficulties to be launchin' 'er without my pa. I missed 'im dearly, the fickle mistress, Calypso, takin' 'im to the depths a fore 'is time. I could feel my eyes waterin' up, 'is funeral service 'ad only been two days aft 'is disappearance and t'was fresh in my mind. I wiped my eyes on my jacket, the jacket Pa 'ad given me a fore 'e was claimed by the sea. T'was with cold and sudden realization that the last things I said to 'im 'adn't been the kindest of words. I took a deep breath, I 'ad to put all of that behind me, t'wasn't proper ta be upset on a day like this. T'was time to unleash Pa's greatest a works.

I took my place at the ship's helm, ready to steer 'er out into the open ocean. I nodded and my first mate shouted out the signals, "All ropes dropped and anchor's rise!", "Open her sails!", "Take Positions, men!" I could feel immediately when 'er sails unfurled completely, a sudden lurch sent some of the less experienced sailors to the floor, but I stood strong. I couldn't help but beam as I watched 'er do 'er job, she was soon pickin' up speed, cuttin' through waves like butter. We were upon open sea quickly and a sudden, roaring burst of cheers broke out across 'er deck. I let out a loud shout m'self, I couldn't help but join in the merriment. "Let us see how fast she can go, eh?" I shouted to my crew members and was met with another loud hurrah. 'Er deck became busier than ever, e'ryone excited to push 'er to 'er limits, to see if she truly would be unrivaled. She was already haulin' at seven knots, the top speed for galleons of 'er size, but my pa 'ad a secret to make 'is ships go much faster than 'is competitors. I signaled my first mate to start, and he signaled the others. Hidden masts began to pop up out of 'er deck and with 'em, more sails began to go up as well. I could feel 'er raring to go, "OPEN UP ALL SAILS!" I screamed over the noise and held on tightly ta the wheel. As soon as 'er new sails unfurled and hit wind, we were off, 'er speed climbin' drastically. The ship shook with another loud cheer as I announced that we were now goin' 12 knots, considered impossible fer a ship of 'er size.

Our elation quickly deteriorated when we saw what we were headin' straight tawards. A massive storm front ballooned in front of us, and I could feel the electricity cracklin' in the air, makin' all my hair stand on end. "Should we turn around, Captain?" my first mate inquired, the whole lot of them starin' at the storm. "No," I replied quietly, this is where my pa went missin' and I wanted ta look around, but I couldn't tell the crew that. "I'm gonna test 'er ability and yer abilities ta withstand a storm," I lied, "can't have a crew that knows naught about sailin' in storms." I could see them stallin', unsure if they should actually listen ta what such a young captain was commandin'. My first mate began barkin' out orders, always there ta back me up, and the crew jumped ta life. They put down the extra masts to decrease the speed, and the ship slid into the storm. She was rockin' back and forth violently, bein' strewn around by the choppy waves and unguided winds. "Hold on tight, my friends!" the first mate screamed into the wind, even I found myself havin' troubles keepin' a grip. The rain sleeted down like needles, decreasin' visibility ta near nothin', but I could still see the trouble I got my inexperienced crew into. They were slidin' to and fro, graspin' desperately for a handhold of any sort. I noticed one in particular who was caught only by the rungs of the railin' that surrounded most of the ship, the only thin' between him and the ocean were those rungs.

I couldn't let any of my crew be swept over-board, they were all my friends or friends of the family. "TAKE THE WHEEL!" I shouted ta my first mate and he quickly obliged; I dived 'eadfirst down the stairs and made my tawards the hapless sailor. The deck was slick with rain and I soon found m'self slidin' tawards the rungs as the Nautilus bucked and jumped on the waves. I caught m'self on the railin' and began ta work my way tawards the sailor. "Ya look like a drowned rat," I laughed as I wrapped my hands under 'is arms and began hoistin' as 'ard as I could. She hit another wave roughly, tossin' the sailor straight inta my arms. As soon as I 'ad 'im in my grasp, I shoved 'im towards the middle a the ship where 'e grasped onta the mast fer dear life. I took a speedy look around ta make sure no one else needed any help and ta make sure my whole crew was still 'ere. Ev'rythin' looked good so I decided ta start headin' back up ta the helm, "TAKE US OUTTA HERE!" I screamed as loudly as I could ta my first mate, and I saw 'im begin ta whip the boat around. The ship lurched nastily and t'was at that moment that I realized I hadn't grabbed onta anything. I felt my body slam inta the deck, knockin' the wind outta my sails. I tried ta get back up, but she 'it another violent wave, and my body slid tawards the edge of the ship, nearly knockin' me off. I clung ta the rung, mine and the sailors roles now reversed; but there was nobody who saw me, nobody ta rescue me as my fingers slipped and I plunged inta the cruel sea below.
Image

My body hit the water like a rock, nearly knockin' me unconscious, but I somehow managed ta stay awake. I tried callin' for help, but kept goin' under and chokin' on the water, each wave pushin' me farther away from the ship. I could barely breathe, my lungs fillin' with the ocean, Calypso's salty kiss. My mind couldn't think properly anymore, all my oxygen was rushin' ta my lungs, tryin' ta keep me alive. It was startin' ta go dark, my vision clouded over and I just let go. I was goin' ta let the sea claim me as it had my father. I blacked out... but there was a light...A strange cloudy light. Suddenly I could see m'self, floatin' in the water. Was I dead? Was this what death was? There was somethin' strange about my body though, the form undulated with a strange life, the edges or colors never sittin' still. Patterns began ta change, then the whole form. Little stars began ta twirl around tryin' to find their place, shiftin' until they found the right spot. When the starfish settled, the form began to solidify, taking on the look of a young fish-woman, a mermaid per se. I looked on astonished, not believin' my eyes. Was it trickery or magic, or was there truly a beautiful mermaid before me? She beckoned me over and I felt a bunch of little pressures against my back; peerin' behind me, I saw hundreds a little stars swimmin' against my back. When they stopped, I was face ta face with the fish-woman and she peered inta my face, her doe-eyes lightin' up with curiosity.

Finally she spoke, "Interesting, I saved another like you from the seas only a few days ago. Do you not know that you can't swim?" "A course I can swim!" I began ta defend m'self before realizin' fully what she 'ad said, "did you say you saved another like me?" She giggled, 'er little starfish bouncin' with 'er, "Yes, I did. He was quite a bit older than you though." Before I could question any further, she pressed her lips against mine. It felt as if the sea was retreatin' from my body ta be replaced with oxygen and with that feeling, darkness came once more. Time seemed to pass so slowly until all at once I woke up, water rose up my throat as I hacked and coughed, tryin' to breathe sweet air. My eyes fluttered open to see my crew peerin' down at me, "Give him some room, give him some room!" I could hear my first mate shoutin'. I turned my head ta try ta see where I was, still coughing up water. It was the Nautilus, I was back on 'er somehow. Had they turned around ta save me, was all of that a dream? My first mate kneeled by my side, "you okay, my friend?"; 'e began inspecting me, "Your da would've come back and killed me if you had died."

I musta looked like a deer in the headlights, 'cause he started snappin' his fingers in my face, "You okay?" he asked once more. "I-I'm fine," I managed to splutter, "how d-did I get back on the ship?" 'E looked at me in disbelief, "I honestly have no idea how we found you," 'e stroked his chin," we sent a boat out, and your body just happened to bump into it; We all thought you were dead." I sat up and whispered in 'is ear, "I think Calypso saved my life and she saved my pa's life too." 'E looked at me sideways, not understandin' at first, but then 'is thoughts cleared up, "stranger things have happened, I wouldn't be surprised if Calypso had helped you." I stood up, lookin' out ta the now calm sea and thought of what coulda happened. So many questions circled around in my head: Where 'ad my father gone, was 'e truly alive, was that all a dream? My head began ta hurt with all the questions swirlin' through it. "Let's head back home," I told the crew, I could think about it when I wasn't freezin'.

Sorry about the accent if it's hard to read :T It was very difficult to write that way.

Marola wrote:Ever since I was young, I have loved the sea. My favorite thing to do is go scuba diving. I remember one time, I went to Australia, and I got to see the Great Coral Reef! It was wonderful!

I put on the scuba suit, which was actually rather comfortable, and the mask and air tanks, and looked over the side of the boat. The water was beautiful! It was a clear, bluish green color, which reminded me of my fur. I could barely see the colors of the coral below me until I jumped in the water. The flippers they had fitted me with helped me swim down to the coral beds, which were thriving with underwater life. The fish were beautiful, so colorful! I saw fish of all different colors. Blue and green and red and pink and purple and orange, the rainbow and more! I swam down lower in the coral, and there were larger fish. My favorite part was when I saw this humongous sea turtle! I swear, it must have been at least twice my size! It wasn't even green, though. It was a pale yellowish color, and had dark red spots everywhere. Its shell's spots had a sunburst like explosion of red, spreading from the middle of each of the spots. As it swam by me, it turned its head and seemed to smile and wave at me, but I knew it was just looking at me, and its flipper was just raised to move it forward in the water. So, as soon as I got out of the water, I went to a gift shop and found a nice turtle necklace. The charm was made of glass and the cord was hemp. I wear it every day, now, to remind me of the beauty that thrives deep within the ocean.

Why I want her:
Marola wrote: She says that the reason that she wants to win me, is because of our shared love of the beauty of nature. Though hers is mostly on land, like forests and mountains, and mine is under water, they are stol the same thing, basically. Nature. The natural beauty, untouched by human hands. I still enjoy hiking in the woods, and she will go swimming with me when I go diving. Its feeding the love for both of us that keeps our relationship well.

Aurora, A Bright Kiamara

u s e r n a m e ;;

Hi there, my name is Foxer ♥, a non-owner. She's just so pretty, and she fits me really well!

k i a ' s ' n a m e ;;

This Kiamara's name is Aurora, and I thought it suited her perfectly.

m e a n i n g ;;

"Aurora" is the Latin word for 'sunrise'. Aurora is also part of the name "Aurora Borealis", which is the beautiful Northern Lights in Alaska.

n i c k n a m e ;;

Aurora has several nicknames. She is called Sunrise, Sun, Star, and Rora.

g e n d e r ;;

Aurora is a definite female. I just cannot picture this beautiful Kia as a male!

p e r s o n a l i t y ;;

Aurora's personality is a lot more simple than you would think. She is happy most of the time, energetic and bright. She shines like the sun, as she is always willing to help people and make friends with them! She loves being silly and cracking jokes, and, so far, she seems to have a very good sense of humor. Aurora is a humble girl. She never brags and, instead, is shocked when she wins anything and gives her ultimate gratitude. She is very kind and sweet, always willing to give some sort of compliment, even on her worst days. She's sympathetic, giving pats and hugs and simply being a shoulder to cry on. Among most people, Aurora shines like a star.

Now comes the dark side of Aurora's personality. Most of the time, she can be annoyed easily. She hates being drilled into with words, despite her happy attitude. She might snap or zone out, while other times she's bouncing around. With that being said, this Kiamara can be quite annoying sometimes. She's always excited which, as you think, would annoy people constantly if they were not in a happy-go-lucky mood. Although she tries to maintain her excitement, she can't help but burst with every little exciting piece of news! Although, Aurora can be very impatient. Even if you hold her up for five minutes, she raps on your door and rushes you! She likes to do things in that split second, and anyone who holds her back annoys her greatly. With that, her favorite phrase is "You Only Live Once" meaning you have no time for sob-stories or depression! "You're only on this planet once," she says, "meaning you gotta get out there and live your life to the fullest!"

Username: Hi, I'm Mimi26188 A non-owner

Name: Gwen

Name Meaning: Gwen really doesn't mean anything, I just wanted a short simple name that didn't have to be based off a mermaid... or anything sea related. Instead I used the word's dawn and Dusk (her eyes) and the word deep (her legs) and mixed all those words together and came up with Gwen.

Personality: Gwen is fluid. She loves to learn. She is quick to take in new information and make adjustments to her structures. Gwen is restless and always asking "why". Gwen would do well in any kind of job where she is continually learning something new, or jobs where she is required to be highly creative. Curious by nature, Gwen need's a strong structure in their work to channel their creative energy, but too rigid of a structure will cause her to lose interest. Once she has lost her enthusiasm for learning Gwen, must retain interest in what she is doing or she will become depressed and look for distractions to keep her life interesting.

Story of the Starfish: June 20th 2013 Clear sky's, 12:45 AM: Gwen again! it's the 20th of June! And it's a special day today.. My birthday! Right now were in the car and my dad is driving toward's Feather's R US. Weird.... Why are we going there? I told him last year I didn't want to go there! We parked, Went inside and looked around. My dad bought scuba gear, Floats, and a boat. We got back in the car and drove to the dock. I wrinkled my nose at the salty smell. We unpacked. Then my dad said "Happy birthday Honey" I was really overjoyed and leaped into the boat eagerly waiting for them to start it. My dad said I could go take a swim while I was waiting. So I did, Dived off the boat and into the water. I enjoyed feeling the water agaisnt my fur And then... WIP WIP WIP WIP WIP

Kia Name: Tropis
Meaning: 'Tropical' in Indonesian.
Gender: Female
Story:
Running
Tropis ran her foot through the hot sand as she slowly
wandered up and down the beach. She lived in Indonesia,
a hot place where she felt she was always on the go.
That day, she missed home back in England particularly
more than usual, as yesterday it was Christmas. She had
recieved cards and presents from them all, but nothing
could had made her smile more than their appearance at
her small home, thousands of miles away. Boxing day had
always been a day Tropis loved. When she was a pup, she
took it too literally, and used to have fights with her friends,
or she would insist that she and her family watch a match on
TV, much to their objections.

Tropis felt today was a lot hotter than usual, and the air felt
and awkward around her. She hated it. Sweat beginnings to drip
from her fur, she scampered towards the sea, which was lapping
against the shore, drenching some toddlers as they experienced
the salty playground for the first time. Farther along the beach,
Tropis noticed that the waves were getting bigger, and more
frequent as they smashed against the cliffs. She would not want
to be down their. Brrr! Giving out a sigh of relief, Tropis dunked
herself into the murky cobalt depths of the Indonesian sea. The
waved battled with her efforts to paddle a little further, but she
kept on going.

When she began to get out of the sea, shaking the sopping sand
off of her, a sparkle of curiosity filled her eyes. There, on the
horizon was a foamy line. Higher than the normal level of the sea,
and she could see it was rapidly advancing on the shore. There was
definitely something wrong here. Surely it couldn't be what she thought
it was. She had heard about it in stories when she was younger, but she
didnt think it would really happen to her! Now it had got a lot closer, but
she still had time. "Tsunami! Everybody run!" she shrieked as she grabbed
her towel and sprinted into the jungle behind her. Nobody followed. They
hadn't believed her. But Tropis had to save herself. "Keep running. Don't
stop until you have to. You can get out of this. You don't have to die!" she
whispered to herself, although she didn't think she was being truthful. She
couldn't stop the forces of nature! But at least she could try to not be affected
by it. Suddenly, the moan of the sirens began to echo through the air. It must
have reached the shore, but by now she was right into the jungle. If she kept
on running still she might get away!

Then the horrible thoughts struck her. What about all the people on the beach?
The ones that didn't believe her? They must have been washed away. How far
had the Tsunami got to? Had it destroyed her home? Probably; it was right next
to the beach. Without thinking, the distressed Kiamara felt a plump tear roll
down her cheek. And then another. All her things. They were destroyed and she
had nothing left. Nothing to help her to survive for much longer except her towel
and her fur. She lay down and wept. She didn't care if the Tsunami reached the
spot she was laying; it seemed like she was going to die either way.

When Tropis awoke from her fitful sleep, she found she wasn't in the same place
as before. She infant was snuggled on a rug, and she felt a soothing hand stroking
her back. Without checking to see what it was, Tropis felt a fuzzy, safe feeling
inside her. She knew that whoever it was was going to care for her.
"Hello, darling! My name is Cat, and you can stay here with me as long as you like."

(I kinda got the main idea from 'Running Wild" written by the legendary Micheal
Morphurgo. All the words are mine, though.
