A feathery feeling alighted upon the meadow. A tingling, if you must. The sun had not been seen for days. Weeks. Not quite months but you get the idea. This valley had been so grey and dull, regular formalities had been forgotten. Of four kits one had not been named. This had occurred because the minute this kit was ready for her name, the rain started. Now the nameless kit felt shunned and did not like the foxes of the valley. She decided that she would search for her meaning. Her reason to live. So she left.

This kit eventually felt cold. Tired. Hungry. Soon, she stumbled on a cave. A golden fox found her asleep and bone-thin. This fox saw a spark in the pup. That she could have amazing powers. When she awoke, he was looming over her. She jumped at the shimmer of his pelt.

"Calm down, little one."

Withe these words she burst with energy. With a new light, a spark found within. This was her sun to her rain. She had become her own rainbow.

"I shall call you... Iridis in Nocte. My rainbow in the night."

With that the wolf vanished and the pitter-patter of rain stopped. A rainbow shown ahead.
