My Entry: Anguis Lacerta (Pretty Much Finished!)

Postby FateStoryteller » Sat Jun 08, 2013 10:36 am

Whew! That took me forever, but its worth it!

Anguis Lacerta(e)

The Anguis Lacerta (Lacertae when plural) is really a science experiment gone wrong. You see, scientists have been trying to artificially bring on mutation(yes, X-Men wasn't kidding...) and they were making progress. These scientists wanted to use something large and carnivorous but did not want to graduate to monkeys. Instead, they began testing on large lizards (like the bearded dragon) and on large snakes(the python to be exact). However it is here that the mutation experiment failed.
Oh, the pythons and dragons mutated alright, but instead of creating super reptiles, they bonded and their DNA mixed! Yeck! Now all the scientists have to show for their work is this beast which they call the Anguis Lacertae which means "Lizard Snake" in Latin.
The Anguis Lacertae(or AL) grows to be about five feet long and three feet high with its neck outstretched. It is actually a rather placid fellow except in its adolescent stage when it will lash out at anyone. It also sleeps most of the time except when it hunts. This is where the creature might startle you with its agility: it can slither on its belly by tucking its legs under it but it can also climb nimbly using its claws. When pursuing something, the AL never gives up. These creatures can be deadly, but also beautiful in their serpentine way. They really don't make bad pets, but you have to be careful to make sure it always gets its meal once a month for it does not know loyalty and you do not want to become its prey...

What this Oekaki contains:

Piebald 1 (hidden)
Adult lines/color/shading (shown)
Several Shading Layers (shown)
Signature (shown)
Egg lines/color/shading (shown)
Embryo lines/color/shading(shown)
Piebald 2 (hidden)
Piebald 3 (hidden)
Piebald 4 (hidden)
Infant lines/color/shading (shown)
Female Fur (hidden)

All bases can be Lock Alphaed as well as the adult eye color. Piebalds can also be Lock Alphaed.

Maybe add (probably not):

Adolescent lines/color/shading
Mutations

And I have a question: If we don't win, can we keep our lines? If you don't want this guy, then I do! X3 I'll add you to the color in list! :)

Finished my definite to-do list. When you get the chance to explore the layers, let me know if you would like all of the shading/shine layers to be merged. I thought I'd leave them separate in case you wanted the freedom to possibly play with them in the future. ^^

So happy that I could please. :) I'm rather fond of the critter myself. I was thinking that it might have been created from some fun science experiment gone wrong trying to force the evolution of a snake and a lizard and instead the two combined. O.o' Ooops! Lol. :3 Still working on a name. :)
