A young soul swam in the blue seas,
splashing joyfully and bursting with glee,
but then it starts to rain, and the dark clouds appear,
as they shoot their electricity at the young peer!
she tried to swim away, as fast as she could,
but the storm continued to follow her.
she took a deep breath, and dove into the sea,
but she realized she could breathe underwater, oh joy! she shouted with glee.
she continued to swim, and saw a school of fish,
it almost looked like one was trying to blow a kiss! yuck.
the wind currents blew strong, making the water move,
should she keep swimming or go back to the shore? that's up to you!
she sighed sadly as the friendly school of fish swam by,
turns out she had no friends, oh my!
just as she was about to turn her back, a group of jellyfish gave her a quick tap.
"what?" she asked, annoyed by their presence,
"my name's Watt, my name's Jake, and my name's Fred, and we sure aren't fakes!"
the girl shuffled her feet and looked down,
she didn't know what to say right now!
the three jellyfish tapped her again and flashed her a smile,
"we don't have friends either, but we promise that we're worthwhile!"
she shuffled her feet again, and looked up at the friendly faces,
"my name's aquatic, and I don't go many places."
the three jellyfish all linked two tentacles together,
"that's sign language for 'friend'." they said.
the girl smiled and linked two fingers of her own together,
"friends."
the four swam off together to the coral reefs,
she knew that they would be her best friends forever, and nothing could change her beliefs.
and that's my long poem. -strikes a pose-

As I float through the ocean blue
I look to the sky with its stars so bright
And I have to wonder if I could too,
Could shine with such a brilliant light

As I drift along at the mercy of the sea
My mind soars into celestial currents
Where the comets shoot beside me
And star dust swirls by in great torrents

As I return to my shivering body,
Passing by the sweet moon,
I turn my eyes from the sky so gaudy,
Back to the sea and its own boon.

I dive right down, into the dark,
Away from the beauty above,
To someplace that will be stark
And show me if I am worthy of love.

Below the waves that shimmer and shine,
In the ocean depths darker than night,
Is a jolt of electricity that is mine,
For I am like the stars, a beautiful sight.

❝A Little More About Varuna
Runa loves all things that glow in the dark, be it stars, jellyfish, glow sticks, fireflies, Chinese lanterns, anything, even fire despite the fact that she is afraid of it. She believes that anything that gives off its own light must have so much good energy that it can't contain it and sees these things to be signs of very good luck. Even though she herself doesn't really glow, she believes that her star like spots, so bright against her dark fur, signify her own good energies. Runa is particularly obsessed with the stars, actively believing in astrology and thinking that all things are destined to be some way and that the stars and planets will tell everything to someone who can read them. Sometimes she even fancies that she understands them for a moment or two when she is having deja vu. Runa is a very cheerful Kia who is quite optimistic despite the fact that she is easily hurt or picked on and is apt to get herself into situations where she can only fail. She's the kind of girl who will smile through her tears and try to make others happy, even when she is miserable. All of this also leads to her being easily used and very naive of the evil that others can have, though among her own kind, she is usually safe.

Drifting unimpeded,

I awake from the strangest of dreams.

Currents heave and shove as the moon commands.

Electricity pulsated just as the waves would beat against the shore,

Collapsing and twisting upon themselves.

A dark blue realism painted by beings cut from Sedna herself,

Pulsing with a sort of unconcerned life.

We are astral creatures plucked from stars and born from anemone.

Bodies adorned with finest lace and most precious jewel,

Yet unwanted by man.

Bear me from the depths, my friend.

Embrace me and gift to me

The ability to protect my vulnerable self.

Decorate my weakest points with pure lightning

Pulled from the rain-laden cumulonimbus.

Though I drift without knowledge of happenstance or direction

I know one day, I shall return to your body

To be renewed once again.

To begin my unguided journey to land once more.

Living unperturbed, free from the sea’s spell,

Drifting unimpeded.




Chromatophores.

Although many call her brainless because of her resemblance
to common cnidarians, she's actually quitthe deep thinker.
Chromatophores are pigment-holding cells, especially ones
that through contraction and expansion produces a
temporary color, as seen in octupi and chameleons.
This has become her favorite word as it explains one of her
favorite occurrences in nature, the ability to change color.
