How inappropriate to call this planet Earth when it is quite clearly Ocean.
      -Arthur C. Clark

hello there. i've been waiting for a Kia like this
for a long, long time. he's perfect. <3

    kia's name;;
      Atlantis
we've all heard the myth of the lost underwater city...

    gender;;
      male
i could maybe possibly see him as a female, but i
        think he's definitely a male.

I grew up on the beach. It was such a luxury to wake up to the sun and the ocean.
      -Gemma Ward

    poem;;
this is the story of how he got his name and his colors...
(sorry for the terribleness, i'm not the best at poetry.)

      once upon a time
      there was a place
      called atlantis

      once upon a time
      there was a kia
      called reef

      but he lost that name
      and took on another
the name of that fabled place
      that lost forgotten city
      never found again

      reef's home was the sea
he lived to swim, swam to live
the blue currents were his friends
they cradled him, kept him safe
      he played with the dolphins
      swam with the fish
      dived with the otters
but he never strayed too far
      for the ocean was dangerous
and in the deep strange creatures lurked

one day a storm unlike any other came
it raged and roared and howled
      it smashed trees, homes, people
and it swept reef out to sea
      far out to sea
far, far out, where he had never gone
      and it left him there

      reed swam and swam
      but the sea was endless
      what was once his home
      was now his prison
      with bars of distance
      and hunger
      and thirst
      and exhaustion

      reef sank eventually
he sank because he couldn't help it
he sank because he gave up
he sank because he saw death
he looked in it the face that day

      he sank down, down, down
the light died from the water
fleeting bubbles of his life's breath
going with it, leaving reef alone
      he sank into darkness, blackness
it was a void, and he opened his eyes
one last time, to try to see the light again

      and he saw light
pulsing blue lights, floating around him
like the lamps of angels, he thought
but no, they were not lamps
      nor we're they angelic
      they were jellyfish
glowing and blue, tendrils trailing behind them
as they jetted through the darkness

      then they floated toward reef
and he smiled because he wouldn't be alone when he died
the jellyfish surrounded his limp body
they tenderly wrapped themselves around him
like the gentle embrace of a mother
      then they shocked him

      electricity coursed through his body
he shuddered and bucked, his struggle
silent in the deeps, like the screams frozen in time
      of those of atlantis
      his body glowed, became hot
a light shining through the jet blackness
his fur shone iridescent blue, his spots glowed white-hot
currents of electricity crackling over his body

when reef woke up, he wasn't in the water
he was curled up on a beach, fur crusted with salt
the waves lapping at his paws
his body ached and tingled all at once
he staggered to his feet, fur ruffled
      his new fur ruffled

now he was colored like the sea
the part he nearly died in
deep blues and blacks, and his spots
      the color of the jellyfish
      who somehow saved him
but traces of his former color remained
      traces if his former self
      but he was changed
he had become lost, and sunk in a storm
just like in the myth of atlantis

and so reef took on a new name
so he would always remember what had happened
      how he fell, like atlantis
      but he was saved
      unlike atlantis.

Ocean is more ancient than the mountains, and freighted with the memories and the dreams of Time.
      -H.P. Lovecraft

    favorite word;;
      his favorite word is 'compass'
he loves compasses because they sound so cool,
look so cool, and can keep you on course no matter
if you don't know where you are.

Username: I am Narwhals. I hope you enjoy reading this. Have a great day.
Kia's name: Depth. I hose this name for a reason. Water. It reflects, and it takes no exact color. But when water is extremely deep, there is nothing to reflect on. Deep water is a dark shade of blue. But when you reach the deepest depths, the water is purple. Almost a raven. A black. And that is what this kia represents to me.
Gender: Depth is in fact male.
Poem: I am Depth.
I sink.
Down under the currents.
Softly swaying with the blue.
Sting.
Electricity runs through me as I swim.
Safety.
I want water.
No air.
Water.
Depth.
I am.
The ocean.
I am.
Favorite word: Finger. He has always wanted opposable thumbs :3
