Counting Bodies Like Sheep To The Rhythm Of The War Drums

I run faster and faster, my legs screaming at me for a break. My joints ache, my head’s banging, my ears ringing, my paws sore and surely blistered. I need to make it though. Past the men ahead. Past them and their large hand-held machines that shoot hurtful things. Pass them and their excavators or whatnot that mother calls them.

Mother. The darkness.

She’s taught me many things. Like what the darkness is for, what I’m for. My job, my past, my future… She also told me about the sun.

Stupid Sun

The Sun always gets on my nerves. With its stupid remarks toward me. He's always trying to be the best, and always failing at it. He's always too bright. Trying too hard to beat me. The Sun can't beat the Night. I keep telling the Sun that, but of course he just laughs it off with his dumb self and walks away screaming that he's the best. His rays of light blind me- It blinds all darkness. I hate that. And when I tell him to stop, the stupid head goes ahead and shines brighter. Is he a jerk or what?

Though I'm not even sure if he knows...

As you can see the Sun's an idiot. A 'tard who hopes to be the king god one day. Can you believe it? Chief God?! What he doesn't realize is that he's already king. King of the world. Shining the day with blinding rays 24/7- Wait scratch that. Except at Night. That’s when darkness takes over- That’s when 'I' take over. That’s when the sun sleeps. My darkness always finds a way to wrap around him and quickly pull back when the Sun stirs. Such a heavy sleeper he is, not waking until he absolutely needs to and the world needs to wake. It’s amusing. He thinks all he needs is himself. Thinks that he's so special...

But he doesn't know what loneliness is. He's constantly surrounded by lovers, friends, and other gods- some that don't even control the sky! Like animal gods, elemental gods... everyone.

I wonder what it would be like to be with the Sun. It's impossible because we both have different duties, and all at opposite times. I am Darkness, he is the Sun. But I still wonder what it would be like. Then he could shine 'my' world 24/7. Unfortunately, no one can be eternally with the Sun. The Sun is an idiot. An idiot that wants to be king. An idiot that doesn't realize that he 'is' King. King of our world- King of everyone's world. No one likes the darkness. They all like him...

Name Meaning:
Well, Ares is the Greek god of war, murder, and bloodshed. First name. Hades is the Greek god of the underworld. Middle name. Cerberus is a three headed dog that guards the underworld. Second middle name. You will find out why I named him these names in the section 'How I was raised.'

How I was Raised:
Ares was found in the woods by a she - wolf. Ares didn't like her, however. The she - wolf took him home, and cared for her like her own. After he got bigger, he was nicer to her - well, sometimes. The wolf wasn't aware that he had multiple personalities. One personality nice, another like a demon. One night, while the she - wolf was sleeping, Ares got mad at one of her pups. So, he killed him, and ate him. Ares laid down next to his foster mom, and when the she - wolf awoke the next morning, she seen her pup brutally slaughtered, and eaten. The she - wolf was in so much pain, instead of punishing Ares, she tried to kill the young JBD who had no memory of killed her pup. She ran Ares out of her forest. Ares returned, madder than ever, watching her from the trees, red eyes glowing with anger, and blood tears falling from his eyes, onto the ground. When he seen that the she - wolf was asleep, he went into her den. She instantly woke up, feeling a disturbance.
"I told you to get out of my forest!" she growled as Ares, standing up as she snarled for him to return from where he came from.
All Ares did was laugh, and walk towards the wolf that rescued him when he was just a little bean, and raised him as one of her own.
"Mother, don't you love me?" he asked in a deep voice, darting right into her face, which astonished the she - wolf as she backed up to the wall, fright filling the poor wolf's eyes. Ares snarled, darting back into her face. "I asked you a question!" he growled, digging his claws into her shoulders. She yelped, crying out for help, which made Ares mad. That night, he killed the wolf, smearing himself in her blood. After he did this, he then realized what he did. He tried to help her, then realized he couldn't help her - she already passed - going to the light.
"What have I done?"
After that, he wandered off, and was found dying by a bear. The bear raised him as a soldier, and was taught never to trust anyone. So, now, at the age of twelve, the JBD is treated like a warrior, at day, scared, at night, evil . . .

At day, his favorite object is his little armor, since he is afraid of getting killed. Well, he's just afraid of the world, really.
At night, his favorite object is his trusty trident that his mother bear gave him. He thinks it's easier to kill things with.

How I was Raised: Now unlike my brother, who i've come to be reunited with (hope this is ok aswell) i wasnt raise in the presence of robots, but computers i was indeed. Though not in exactly the same manner as he, i find his manner of being like a computer databas/robot himself interesting. But me? Now i was raised with astronomers and the thoughts of theoretical thinkers. I grew up learning the many names, locations, and wonders of space and its many objects we see from our sky. The stars, the moon, the planets,and what's beyond. Constantly dreaming up theories and contemplating what's out there and why things appeared as they do. It was my fascination, No My LIFE! i couldnt imagine what it would be like without growing up the way i did. i never would have satisfied my busy mind without exploring the depths of those thoughts about our sky, our universe. His raisers gifted him with his items, a small portable telescope, sextant, and star compass. he keeps them with him at all times. Now back to my growing up, i was raised in the presence of computers too. But in a different fashion. My caretakers had a enormous telescope that could see far better than any other one i've seen and it showed me the worlds beyond ours, our computers now held maps and recorded data or all the stars,planets, and things we saw and studied.
