Yes that's all I can remember from the days when I was little. See my home is up there, in the stars. Their light has been seared onto my pelt and I will never ever forget their secrets. The only reason I came back is to investigate my heritage, where I "supposedly" came from. I don't believe it though, that I was born here on such a small planet, it's hard to image that anything but my home on the ship is where I belong. I'm a star traveler through and through!
Don't mind me, I'm getting off topic, they say I'm a good story teller but, HA! I ramble off all over the place.
Eh hem. So my earliest memory was of Captain Araz staring down at me in amazement, I don't think he'd ever seen something like me before and I had no idea where I was but it sure felt like home. In fact up until recently I thought I was born on the Ship!
Captain Araz took me in, or so he says, I still reckon he's my father. He taught me about fuels and hyper engines, about the universe at large and how to communicate with other lifeforms. When I showed an interested in computers and automated systems he taught me strait away. Now I realize this must be a link with my brother. It was easy for me to even integrate myself into circuits and scout ahead to see the next system.
The cap raised me as an intergalactic traveler and side line space rouge. We'd steal from any well off merchant we met and shared the profits with the crew. We wondered the universe and trapped down on tiny earth my heart still wanders with him and my beloved Ship.

Favorite Objects: His collection of glow in the dark stars which he keeps in his pouch, no matter where is goes in the universe he'll always have is very own constellation.

Name:
Adara
Name Meaning:
She is named after the star Adhara. Adhara is one of one of the brightest stars in the sky, and Adara is the brightest JBD you will ever meet. She will always live up to her name.
Gender:
Female
Age:
Adara is Eight.
How I was Raised:
Frankly I can't remember my parents, and I can barely remember Cognium being taken away by some robot computer thing. Those things said I was too creative to take with Cognium and left me all alone in the woods. That's when I meet the *soulsaviors.

Image
As far as I can remember I have lived with these creatures. They found me alone in the woods during migrating season. I was lucky that the forest I was in was the forest they were migrating to. These birds were as large as a vulture and I thought they were coming down to eat me. One came up to me and said, "Don't be afraid, child. We have no means to hurt you. Are you lost?" This soulsavior would soon be the one I called mother, but she was formally known as *Alma. They were very cultural, and always had faith in the stars above. She always said, "The greatest creatures have their stars permanently painted into the galaxies above. You could be up there to, if you belief you can. Don't ever let anyone tell you, you can't, not even me." Those words never left my mind, and they never will. I learned so many stories of the stars and how galaxies were formed. The soulsaviors taught me to trust in a star, and it will take you far.

Image
They treated me like I was one of their own, and for the longest time I thought I was. That is until Migration time came around. The hardest part was migration time. I had to be carried by one of the males, and I felt so bad having to put them through that all because I was the person who couldn't fly. At first my mother told me that I was a special soul because I was born without wings. I soon figured out that I was not a true soulsavior. My mother told me that it was no trouble for the bird who carried me, but that never changed anything. During the migration I would look at the trees and stars, trying to memorize the path. Each time we did it I got better and better at remembering, but I only remember the stars. There was a particularly a bright red star that came out at around the same time each migration.

We always lived in trees, no matter where we stayed. The taller the tree the better for these birds because that means you were closer to the sky and see the stars better. The beds we made we always on the highest branches, and this meant I had to quickly learn how to climb a tree. It was hard at first, but, just as I did with everything, I learned, and I learned it well. I also learned how to make the beds. We made them only out of the leaves from the tree we were staying in. They would not let us get leaves that had fallen of the tree, leaves that were on the ground, or leaves that were on other trees. Since we were so close to the stars, My mother was able to teach me how to navigate through the galaxies. Each night I would learn a new story about fallen stars or stars that have made it in the sky. Sometimes we had to settle for a low tree, which made me sad because for some reason my mother wouldn't tell me the stories she normally told.

Image
There were also so many great times. I was only a little larger than the other children because they were huge birds. I played their childhood games and sang their childhood songs. My favorite game was "Who's got the Star?" A group sits or stands in a circle and holds their paws or claws together in front of them. One person takes the "Star", we just use a marble, and goes around the circle, pretending to put the star in someone else’s paws or claws. They actually put the star in one person’s paws or claws, but then continue the rest of the way around the circle, pretending to put it in everyone else’s Paws or claws. Then going around the circle, each player tries to guess who has the star now. Before each person’s guess, the group asks together, “who’s got the star?” Then the player can state their guess. Once the player with the star is finally guessed, that person distributes the star during the next round. I love how this game challenges you to pay close attention to see if you can spot where the star is. I think we all need to play closer attention to the little details of life.

The food they ate actually wasn't that bad, and I liked it. It mostly consisted of nuts and fruit that grew on the trees. The hard part was, is that we only ate nuts and fruits that grew on the trees. Sometimes I would want to go eat a small insect, but my mother would stop me and say, "That is a soul who is connected to another of my kin. Kill that soul, kill the soulsavior." Even though I wasn't allowed to eat live things, I did sometimes steal food from the humans, such as cake or cookies. My mother didn't like this either. She would tell me stealing is bad and that fruit and nuts are all you need, but she never went out of her way to stop me like she did when I tried to eat a small insect. I would always go out with some of the others to collect nuts and fruits. It was a very boring task, so we would try to make things more interesting. Normally we just have a competition to see who could find the most nuts and fruits. Luckily we have a relatively small clan of soulsaviors compared to the other clans of soulsaviors.

Image
*This is a traditional Persian Symbol for a star.
Every month or so we gather around in a circle to prepare to do a sacred tradition of Singing to the Stars. We gather around a pile of gifts to the passed souls. We join claws and look at the stars. We wait until the it is completely night and the full moon is out, and this is when we start to sing. The words are in some different language because I have no clue what they mean. We sing this song five times then we light the gifts on fire, releasing them to souls above. We also have a special ritual that we perform when one of the soulsaviors prepares to leave this world and guide it's destined soul to the skies above. Both the creature and the soulsavior are unmoved, but my mother says that they aren't dead that their souls are trapped in their bodies and we need to set them free. First we mark both of them with a special symbol (On the Left), and then we dip both of them in water. By this time the souls are set free, and we must bury the bodies together so the souls will find each other on their way to the skies. I look at the bodies and wonder did they life a successful life and will their star be bright?

There were no restrictions to what I was allowed to do or be. Of course, I followed their traditions, and followed the laws of the group, but it was my choice to follow their ways. Every night I would look up at the stars and watch the souls being set free in the bright stars. My mother told me ancient tales of how all the famous stars and constellations came to be. Everyone grew up learning these staries so one day they may help a soul. I always asked why could't I be a soulsavior, and My mother always told me, "You can be. In a different way. You can save a soul on Earth before they head to the sky." I was never sure how I could do that, but I will have to try. This was how I was raised, and that is what I know in my heart is true because I may not be born a soulsavior, I was raised to be one.

*Soulsaviors are an ancient Persian culture of birds. These are birds that catch lost souls and release them into the stars to be free. They are all different shape and sizes depending on the soul they guard. They are based off of smaller birds that actually use the stars to migrate. Information about these birds are found here.

*Alma is of Arabic origin meaning nurishing, kind or fostering mother. Alma is Adara's guardian.

My Favorite Objects:

My Paintbrush:
Image
My mother once told me,"The stars help us when we are lost, but they are not directions or rules to be followed. They were put there by our ancestors who followed their own paths. It is time for you to follow your own path and paint your own stars in the night sky." When I first heard this expression, I took it literally. I thought of how I wanted mine to be the biggest and the best. So, I set out to find a paintbrush. I was gifted with a green paintbrush, which is now my favorite color, and I think I permanently stained the tip of the brush yellow because painting galaxies and space is my favorite thing to paint. I practiced painting and I fell in love with it. I painted everything, my dreams, my nightmares, and my life. Even after I found out it was just an expression, I continued. I plan to paint my destiny in the stars in the night sky, and turn that saying into more than just another expression.

The Constellation Canis Major:
Image
There are many bright stars in this Constellation, and so many stories behind it. The star I was named after, Adhara, is part of this constellation. Sirius is, also part of the constellation Canis Major. Sirius is the brightest star in the universe, and has many different sides to it. Adhara is a star that is often overlooked even though it is the one of the brightest stars in the night sky after Sirius, the dog star. I am also just another overlooked soul in this world, but when I finished, people will know my name.
I have studied everything abut this Constellation and it's stars because i can just seem to relate to it. Did you know Sirius B is 8200 times dimmer than its companion, Sirius A, but is actually the hotter of the two? I am underestimated by everyone when I tell them my dreams, but I plan to prove them wrong. I have researched so many things about Canis Major. Did you know Ancient Egyptians based their calendars on helical rising of Canis Major, which is when it first becomes visible above the eastern horizon just before sunrise after a period of not being visible. I want to change the lives of people just as this constellation did. Adhara is actually 3500 times brighter than the sun in comparison. I plan to shine as bright as Sirius and Adhara put together!

Extra 1 wrote:Personality:
Being raised in a very respected creature, made Adara really try hard to live up to the expectations. There was definitely a little freedom given to be herself, but that little spark turned into her flame of ambition.

Adara is a unique little bean with a natural intelligence and a knack for adventure. She loves to read about and listen to stories of ancient myths and folklore, they always get her mind reeling; especially when it's just before bed, it results in her up imagining all night the possibilities of what might or could have been. She likes to make up her own fairy tales as well, coming up with the most intricate and fantastical creatures. Her biggest fascination is with the stars, constantly gazing into the sky's depths, wondering what lay before her vision in the murky darkness of the universe. She wonders how bright she will be when in the sky.

Adara is very sweet and caring, and with a big heart she shares her love with everyone she comes in contact with or meets in any way throughout her journeys. She loves exploring, searching every nook and cranny for the secrets any particular area contains. She's a little nitpicky at times, but it's mostly when someone gets a story wrong about one of her favorite myths. She's quite friendly to everyone, and will easily trust anyone she finds worthy. She is very creative and loves to write. When she has an adventure or something inspires her she will always write about it. She's still a child and somewhat nïeve, but has a brilliant mind capable of reaching impossible heights.
Adara wrote:Writing and painting is they way I expressed myself. I even wrote a song about my dream of helping people! I wrote lyrics and put them to the song "Skyscraper", by Demi Lovato. I gave them to my friend, and I then recorded us singing the song with the lyrics I wrote. It's called "Soulsavior"

Extra 2 wrote:How I found My Paintbrush:
My mother used to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to me, and explained that the song was about all the souls that were set free. We always looked up the night sky to see if there were any new stars who made their way into the sky. The brighter the star the greater the person. As every night that I sat looking up at the sky I thought I should be out changing the world for the better. That's when I set out to find my paintbrush.

As I explained before, I took the expression "painting your destiny in the sky, leaving your mark on the world" literally so I had to find a paintbrush so I could learn to paint. This was quite an adventure and by the time I received my paintbrush I learned what this expression truly meant.

The early sun was just waking up when I set out on my path. I headed into the thick forests, for I had no idea where to start. I walked through the woods for an hour or two looking under every rock and up every tree. I was about to move on to the next place because I had a long way to look, until I heard a cry coming from the other side of the woods. I had to keep moving if I was to find a paintbrush by nightfall. The cry roared through the trees, hitting my ears. I had to go check out what was going on. I ran to the cries as fast as I could. As I neared the shrieks the creature came into view. It was a Burrowing Owl. I only knew this because we would sometimes run into them when searching for food. We would never eat one of these, and they were great friends to us. This Burrowing Owl had her foot stuck in the root, and it seemed to be badly injured. I walked out of the bushes slowly, trying not to startle her. "Who are you?" She immediately asked when she saw me. "I have no means to hurt. I want to help get you out." I said calmly. I wasn't sure how I was going to get her out without hurting her foot. I decided to try to chew the root apart instead of putting pressure on her foot. I slowly walked up and started to bite at the root. It took a couple of tries before I finally manage to get it weak enough to break. The Burrowing Owl slowly pulled her foot out. It took her a second before she could put weight on the her claws, but she soon was able to walk normally. There was "Thank you," she replied. "Please follow me I want to treat you to dinner as a thanks for saving me." She said as she started to walk.
Image

On our walk she told me she tripped and got her foot jammed into the root, and had been yelling for help for almost an hour. She then asked, "Why were you in the woods?" I replied with "I was searching for a paintbrush." She looked at me for a second and asked, "Oh, you lost a paint brush?" I was a little confused on the question, but I replied with "No, I don't own a paintbrush, but I want to find one." She looked at me with a curious look and laughed a little before replying with, "Well you won't find one out in the woods." She said this like it was common knowledge, so I decided not to reply and just laugh with her. We finally came to her home. It was a underground and I barely made it into the hole. once I manage to go down the hole the rest was a lot bigger. She suddenly had a worried look on her face. "Is something wrong?" I asked. She turned to me and said shaking, "My children are gone."

"Wait, isn't their father with them?" I asked. "No, he was going hunting the rest of the night and wouldn't take them with him." She said worried. We both quickly crawled out of the hole. She started calling for them by their names. We decided to split up and search for them. I was walking around, calling their names, but no answer. I had no clue where to look or where they were. I finally heard some whimpering which reminded me of when Cognium and I was separated. I ran as fast as I could. I felt a rush of relief wash over me, as I laid my eyes on these two baby Burrowing Owls. "i am friends with your mother, and I am here to bring you home." I said to them. I called out to their mother as loud as I could. It was not long before she met up with us. She hugged them and could not stop thanking me. "Please come back with me, I have a gift for you." She said to me. We reached her home and she went down the hole, and when she came back up she had a green paintbrush in her mouth. "This is to thank you for all your help. " She said as she laid the paintbrush in front of me. I was so excited, and I thanked her for the amazing gift. "I guess you can find paintbrushes in the woods," She replied jokingly as we waved goodbye.

It was dark by the time I returned, and when I returned I saw my mother waiting for me. See looked to me and said, "Where were you? You had me scared." I looked up to her and I replied with, "I went to go find my paintbrush." I grabbed my paintbrush and laid it in front of her. When I showed her my paintbrush, I realized what that expression meant. I had changed those creatures' lives, and they would never forget me. I had already made my first stroke of the brush because I had painted my mark on them.

Name:
Nyx

Name Meaning:
Nyx was the Greek goddess of the night. She was a shadowy figure who stood near the beginning of creation.
Her appearances in mythology are sparse, but reveal her as a figure of exceptional power and beauty.

Gender:
Nyx is female.

Age:
Eleven

How I was Raised:
Nyx wrote:All of my life, I was a creature of the night. The shadows beckoned me to come to them and dwell in their comfortable depths. The only light that I could bare, and rather enjoy, was the light of the stars. The stars seemed to dance and tell me what to do when I needed to do it. They were practically my parents. My only companion was my own shadow, and I named her, well, shadow. We would talk to each other when we got the chance, for I only saw her when I was in the light, and I did not prefer to be in it's strong rays. Every evening, I would have to summon the dark sky by singing a song. I learned later in my life that the night came naturally, but as a child my imagination was so strong that I thought I myself was the goddess of the night. I still sing that song every night, just for the ritual of it. I never knew I had a brother until one fateful night when the stars whispered to me. It sounds silly, but I could swear that they tell me secrets of the future. On that night, the heavens sent me an image of a small blue dragon, and behind him were my parents! My parents... my gosh, I had never seen them either. They were beautiful, though. In my dream, they were also separated from my brother and strangely enough, I thought I saw some computers... Strange. Heavens knows how I became separated from them, but some how I did, and now I was being raised out here in the beautiful, quiet, forest. I have never met my brother, but with any hope, I will find him someday.

Favorite Objects:
Nyx's favorite objects are her silky, sparkly deep blue scarf and her telescope. She wears the scarf constantly, it resembles the night sky, and therefore comforts her. Her telescope lets her see the farthest reaches of the sky, and sometimes, while studying actual constellations, she makes up her own constellations and maps them out on a piece of paper.

My entry Tron for Bean #491 :D

Postby Groggy » Mon May 20, 2013 3:42 pm

Image
Image

    Image
I'm Groggy, on here and the JBD fanclub.

    Image
I'd name this little bean Tron.

    Image
Tron is a shortened version of Electron and he is the perfect image of the name. It fits him perfectly because in the movie Tron Legacy it is all digital and everything is blue and black, with maybe a few other colors. The first thing I thought of when I saw him is that I wanted him to be Tron and in my mind, that is the only name I see him being as. I see him and I think electron themed not space themed, I hope you see it too.

    Image
I see this bean as a little boy.

    Image
    Tron is ten years old.

    Image
Tron is a sweet boy, he is very kind to his friends and family. He is mean when it comes to losing games, he throws temper tantrums but I can handle that. He is very smart too, he knows everything there is to know about electronics. He likes figure it out games, adventure games, scary movies, and music! He loves all kinds of music, he always goes to concerts now, with Cognium. He hates clowns, spoons, hights, spiders, bees, and real weopons.

    Image
I want Tron not just because the species is beautiful. I've always wanted one but have had no luck in winning. I don't just want to win any bean, I want to win one that I have seen and fallen in love with, and that is Tron. I have given up on too many beans to give up now. I love him, and I will always have a special bond with my first bean but I would love a second or third one equally. I can raise him from a baby and always order SO MUCH art of him that I wont even know what to do with it! XD

    Image
Well since his name is Tron, like his brother he was raised by computers. Well, computerized robots anyway, he never knew his parents, he only had the robots, which made him do everything and learn everyday, except on the weekend he was allowed to play video games, play on the computer and talk to his brother Cognium, even though he never met him in person, he knew they had a lot in common. When Cognium and Tron were separated at birth they were raised by computers, in the same place. Too bad they didn't know that until Cognium had an owner. He is allowed to play outside now and he is trying oh so hard to get a home, that of witch I would love to give him.

    Image
His gaming systems, his laptop, and his phone, Because they are the only toys he knew of while growing up.

Name:
My name is Galaxia. I was named after the millions and millions of stars that are scattered across our galaxy.

Name Meaning:
Midnight, my caretaker after I lost my brother and parents, was a Spanish dragon. His accent was very strong...That's beside the point. He named me Galaxia after the Spanish name for Galaxy.

Gender:
I am a girl. A female. I don't want to be a boy. I'm still getting used to Cognium.

Age:
(Cognium is 10)
I am 11. I was born a year before Cognium.

How I was Raised:
I was raised by an old, really old, dragon. His fur was really short, his dark skin showing. His horns were long and black. His fur used to be a long pure midnight blue. His eyes are ice blue. Both he and I often slept under the stars. Midnight, what I called him, moved slower than most. But I kept easy pace with him. I was brought up to dislike houses and roofs, having heard Midnight's horrible past with houses. Now I would rather sleep in the open, my dark fur usually keeping me camouflaged in the dark surroundings, only sleeping under a ceiling during storms. I could watch the night stars for hours, slowly falling asleep. I believe that roofs and houses are evil.
Though now Midnight is gone, having passed away peacefully in his sleep, and I travel on my own now.

Favorite Objects:
A star-shaped rock I found while I was traveling. I keeps it in my small pouch. I loves the warm feeling it brings during sunny days. It reminds me so much of Midnight.

A necklace made of a special stone.

Her first item is actually very simple. It's a necklace made of a transparent-edged galaxy stone held by a black cord. On this necklace there's also a horsehead nebula pendant.
