Short Story: First of i am not short. I am a good height for my kind. So all of you who want to call me a pony don't! I do not care if the rest of my patrol is in the 16 hh range. I am good at my job as a worker for the mounted guard. I can prove it too. It was a dreadfully hot night as i stood guard on the lawn of the white house. We may have looked lazy and tired, but trust me, we were on our toes for any sight of danger. Everyone important in your world was inside the great white building. We were told that no one is to enter. So when shadows shifted our eyes quickly zeroed in on the chance of a enemy in our sights. But most times it was just this annoying squirrel. This time though was different. Deep in the shadows a figure stood hiding in the trees. I quickly prepared for a charge and waited for the signal from my master. As i stood ready i saw that the figure had a gun. I lifted my head to warn my rider of this evil figure hiding in the darkness. As i watched the figure he raised his hand, the one with a gun in it! As the shot rang out i charged forward, hoping that my rider was holding on. I charged at the man, i could tell now because i was charging him, just to let you know. Anyways i bared my teeth at this vile creature and made myself look huge. I love doing that because i always feel that i am the smallest. Back to the point he ran, and me being the fastest i over came him. I stood with pride by the handcuffed man as the rest of my team caught up. So as you see i am the best on my team, no mater if they call me short. They are just jealous.

Short Story: I walked down to the pasture where Chill and Morning were grazing. I had put Spotlight's Blue Feeling or "Elvis" in there earlier. I wanted to check on how he was doing. He was cantering around, spinning around and charging in the opposite direction. He seemed like quite the actor. The next day I pulled him out of the field and put a saddle on him. During my ride I was surprised to learn that he'd been trained in dressage and barrel racing. He also knew several tricks. I laughed as he bowed to me at the end of the ride. Delighted, I hugged him and gave him a carrot. It was the beginning of a successful relationship.
