Oh, good afternoon. Guess you are that friend of Alice's we were waiting for. Well, please, follow me. My name is .cupcakefox.(bold) but you can call me just Bold. I'm the butler of the family Heartwood.
Come along.
Her name is Miss Alice The 3rd. The next successor to the throne, but you already knew this, no?
Alice \a-li-ce\ as a girl's name is pronounced AL-iss. It is of Old German origin, meaning "noble, exalted".
My lady is 10 years old, but don't underestimate her.
Calm and soft, not like a normal loud and annoying child voice. Her voice is like the sound of a tiny bell, chiming delicately in a summer breeze.
Cookies. You can scent them when close to her. She love cookies anyway, but i don't think it's related to her smell.
Oh, and there's her human form: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4065/445 ... 10aa6d.jpg
My highness is an artist prodigy. She can do really stunning drawings (although is not that good with paintings). She have a delicated but detailed style, really amazing, i have to say.

- She'd like to have real friends
- She'd like to have a thousand butlers (but i'm the only one ò---ó)
- She'd like to be allowed to leave the castle when she wanted to
- She'd like to be an artist when she grows up
She's really cute and talkative with new people, and usually uses an advanced vocabulary to her age, which allows her to speak with adults very well. Other children usually don't understand her. She's always calling people peasants.
However, my highness is extrovert and tends to not judge people, although she makes little case of poor people.
Adults usually call her cute and lovely, but other children think she's weird and spoiled. That's 'cause she acts like an adult. I won't lie, sometimes she can be really annoying, but nothing you can't deal with.
She's growing up in a palace, without real friends and a future already organized: to be the queen. There's not much space to make objectives. But her dream is to be an artist, making famous paintings, like Picasso one of her favorite painters (never going to be realized). She hates Michelangelo 'cause he painted a lot of naked people.
Her personality was inspired by Alois Trancy.
And she reminds me of toast with jam
Selfish but delicate, discreet but stubborn, that's Alice Heartwood. A ten years old princess. She loves tea and cookies (especially the cookies), dolls and plushies. Often uses harsh and impolite language, despite her education, and does not obey the castle employees, just her parents. She grew up with strict rules and rude teachers, who made her turn into a child afraid of break rules and make mistakes.
She loves to be royalty and is not ashamed to let it show. Sometimes, she irritates the servants, calling them peasants or "poor people".
Also, Alice likes to draw, listen to classic music and play with her dragon plushies (she loves dragons [and is afraid of them at the same time] 'cause of all those fairy tales with princesses in towers and evil dragons standing guard).
Speaking of fears, she has nyctophobia: a irrational fear of darkness. She needs to sleep with a candle by her side.
If you're not her parents, don't call her Alice. You must call her "your highness" or "your majesty". It's very important.
Alice Heartwood doesn't like to be ignored. If you do, she may poke you or make a scandal. She's very affectionate and is usually rubbing in people to get affection. Alice likes to be the center of attention.
Alice, Alice, Alice, who doesn't know this name? Of course, you know Alice In Wonderland, the classic book. My higness doesn't likes her name. She thinks the Alice in the book is an idiot (who could even think about jumping in a dark hole to follow a rabbit?!). If she could change her name, i don't know which name she would choose, but probably a name that sounds artistic.
What she always wanted to do is leave the castle. She never saw the world outside, and, when no one is looking, you can find her staring through the window, searching for some clue about that big world she can't see. I found her like this once. She just stared at me with a serious expression and whispered: don't even think about telling it for my parents. Ever.
I think they'd be really worried if noticed that she wants to see the world outside. Cool, i must keep a secret ,now. Oh, and i almost forgot: she's always stealing cookies from the kitchen. The cooks never notice.
My highness is just a child, but somehow, she can be really manipulative when she wants to. She don't care what people think about her. Like a typical child, she wants to play all the time, with everything.
She doesnt like animals so much, just rabbits. She loves rabbits (ironic? Remind you of something?) and has one (white, with red eyes) called Prince Edward. She's always carrying him everywhere and talkng with him, pretending he's a real prince that's going to marry her when she grow up. Actually, i think Prince Edward is the only real friend she has.
Oh, no, wait, he's not the only one!
I don't like this man so much, but, yeah... I'm just the butler, i can't give my opinion.
Loki.
He's just the jester, but Alice loves him. He's always with her, drawing, singing, laughing or at a tea party with Prince Edward. Her parents doesn't see any problem, but other employees are afraid of him. They think Loki is macabre.
About my opinion, as i said, i'm just one butler.
Loki is aways with that black cat called Ragnarok, laughing alone and staring at others. Brrr.
I just don't know what she sees in him.
-Here, please, i'm going to show you the next room...
- Ooohh! Bold! Is that my friend? Hey peasants! I'm here!
- Highness?! You should have be resting in your room...!
- Oh, shut up Bold. Hi! I was waiting for you, buddy! Let me guide you to the garden!
Once Upon a Time...
Princess Heartwood says, in her beautiful voice, "your life isn't a fairy tail, you can't start your history with -once upon a time- blah, blah". Well, i'm sure i can, but i'm not in the mood for a discussion, so, i'll just start it with a simple "I was born."
Oh, i hate adults sometimes.
Anyway: I was born. On this palace. On this kingdom. On this planet. But nothing changed. Here i am: ten years old, still here. I'm soooo old! I'm already an adult! My whole life passed away and i'm still here! I DON'T WANT TO LIVE THERE FOREVER!
-Keep calm, highness.
Thanks, Bold.
My parents never had much time for me. Always concerned with kingdom problems. I still love them. I see my mom when she has the time and she's a good queen. I just can't believe myf parents burn witches! Like the heros in the fairy tales!
NOTE: In medieval times, they burned people accused of witchcraft.
Well, i had tutors my whole life, but i never liked them. They were rude and boring, always telling me about the kingdom's history or giving me etiquette lessons. I received punishment every time i did something wrong. My parents allowed them to do this. I never took a beating from my parents, and i'm not sure if they could do it to me, but my tutors sure did. I don't like to break rules. Its like i'm listening my tutors voices every time i do something wrong..
My father aways said that peasants were unsightly and dirty, so, i'm sure they are. All the people like my tutors, including the castle employees, are peasants. Just a note.
Theeen, i met Loki!
Loki is my beeeest friend in the who-le world!
We're aways together and he has the only person that doesn't called Prince Edwad a furball!
After this, nothing happened, i just worked on my drawings.
Talking about this, would you like to see how i imagine the world out of the castle?
~insert image here~
This is how i imagine my future kingdom. It's even better than the original, Loki always says.
Oh, i almost forgot.
I almost had a brother or sister, but he/she died before was born. I know this 'cause one night, i was going to their bedroom (i had a nightmare) and before i entered, i heard someone crying and mom's voice: "i'm not pregnant anymore."
I think dad wanted another son too, 'cause he has crying with her. I didn't sleep that night.
Back to my room, Loki was there, laughing and petting his cat. I told him what i heard and started to cry. He hugged me and started to recite his favorite poem (i love it too): The Raven, from Edgar Allan Poe.Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter,
In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore.
Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he;
But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door -
Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door -
Perched, and sat, and nothing more.
-Edgar Allan Poe (The Raven)
I never forgot, but i try to not think about this.
Actually, i play hide and seek with Prince Edward, Loki and his cat, Ragnarok (i'm a few scared of him) in the palace. There are a lot of secret places and (shhh, it's a secret!) we hide in a super secret room, inside the library, called The Blue Room. Only we know about this room. And inside it, we make a lot of secret plans to steal cookies, we make drawings, we paint, read books, and we dance! Oh, the Blue Room is my favorite place in the whole world!
Oh, before you go, just one thing i almost forgot to mention: some time ago, I saw a bishop put a white powder into the drink of my father. I was playing hide and seek, and i was in the dining room. He didn't see me. When he left the room, i told Loki. He has like: "don't you worry, child" and i was like "OMG, WE MUST DO SOMETHING" 'cause i knew that was poison. I read books, ok?
And then, Loki just entered the dining room, threw the cup on the floor and screamed: "Sorry my lady! Sorry! Please, apologize me!" and then dragged me out of there.
He's a hero, isn't he, Bold?
- Yes, my lady.
-A Short Tale-
- Marta, did you see the cokkies i've made exactly now?
Alice was already far, running with the cookies in her back. Their smell making her stomach growl. If Bold catch her, she would call her a lil' thief. Ran through the stone pillars and silent corridors, enduring the cold look of the gargoyles coming out of the walls. Her father loved them, they were everywhere.
With the same speed, she arrived the library, that was (as usual) empty. She sailed through the many shelves, stopping in front of one that was exactly like the others. Hit four times and waited. Nothing. Hit again. A creak. And then, a part of the bookcase moved, revealing a secret entrance. A room with a blue luminosity. Holding the door, was Loki, as usual, with dark circles under the eyes and a bit crazy way of stare.
- Cookies! - He Smiled.
Alice ran past him and motioned for him to close the door.
- They're chocolate flavor.I just steal them. That was when the cook turned his back to get a bloody piece of pork for lunch.
- Cool. I had brought some tea, even. - He pointed some cups - But today i don't got a really refined type, sorry. It's is not imported or anything. Actually, it's very popular among the commoners. Apple tea.
- Never tasted. - Her blue eyes shone with a mix of curiosity and hesitation.
Loki and Alice had already drank some cheap tea, they aways had very different tastes.
- One of these days, want to taste commoner's coffee. They say it is very simple, to do, you just need to throw a coffee powder in the water and that's it. - He said, sitting in a old chair. The springs creaked under his weight - They call it "instantaneous".
- I think it taste bad. - The red head grimaced.
- Actually, no. I heard it's good. I saw a woman at the fair making instantaneous once.
- I wish I could walk around the fair with you. - Alice stared at him - i wish i could leave the castle.
- I'm going to tell you a bit about the world outside, right? - He shifted in the chair, making the springs creak again.
She nodded, sitting near him.
-Rises a cookie - he asked.
She gave him one and ate other.
- Well. In the fairs, the commoners go to and fro, selling every kind of stuff you can imagine. From instantaneous to dogs and seeds of fruits that you've never heard about! He gestured as he spoke, with his mouth full. She sighed in admiration, imagining all sorts of exotic fruit - some of them travel in chariots driven by oxen, horses, mules, or even elephants. But they are rare. In cities, there are competitions pumpkins, children playing in the streets and ... oh! Bakers! At dusk, the bakers begin making bread and the city smells buttery dough. And when there are parties, they throw balloons with candles that light up the sky like a million fireflies.
- No way! - Her tiny eyes shone, listening everything carefully. She almost forgot to eat another cookie. - One day, i want to see everything.
- You will, Alice. - Loki was the only person allowed to call her Alice, and not "my lady" or "highness".
- Loki, do you found something interesting today?
- Oh, yes! I found I found a disc to our jukebox! Thanks for remind me. - He smiled.
He stood up carefully, to not step on her and walked to the other side of the room, near the window, which overlooked the forest in the fund of the palace.
- Throw me a cookie. - he asked.
She threw it. He took it in the air, without look. HHe moved some stuff in a wooden chest, full of interesting things. The chest of adventures where they kept maps, tea boxes, jewelry and other things that they found in their explorations.
- Here it is. - He has holding a vinyl record, showing the title. It has from a musician she never heard about. He put the vinyl in the jukebox, and then, put a coin. A jazz started to play.
- I like it - She smiled - Let's draw! I think with music, we can make a lot of cool stuff.
He nodded. They drew, then danced, talked about the apple tea and finally, played cards. Loki had his own way of playing cards.
- I won-oh my God, it's almost lunch time. - He frowned. They had to go, before someone started to search for her. They turned off the jukebox and left. The library was still empty - thanks God - so they just walked through the corridors.
- It has fun, no...Loki? - But he had already disappeared.
Let me explain: i like to make a playlist for my characters. Why? Because i think music, drawings and stories fits so well. Also, some songs can tell a lot about someone's personality. Just tlisten to these and see: they speak a lot about Alice's personality. They don't tell everything about her, of course, but all these have something that fits with her. Maybe a quote, maybe some quotes, maybe the melody, maybe the beat.
