Have you ever seen a musician at a concert? They're all
dressed up, wearing a fancy suit and a little bow tie. I've
always thought penguins looked like men wearing suits, and,
although I won't tell anyone this to their face, vice versa.
This bean, of course, reminded me of a penguin, but also
a musician. This is where the first part of the name came
from, and the second part is that the spots look like staccato
markings.

Mozart is affectionately called Mozzie.

Writing music is getting harder and harder, I'm so nervous about the concert! What if I mess up... if I drop the trombone slide, or hit the wrong note?! I"m not really worried about the rest of the band, but I seriously think I'm going to mess up the whole thing for everyone... Maybe if I drink some hot chocolate it'll help me calm down.

The concert is tomorrow, and I'm almost literally shaking with anticipation! The trumpets sound good, the baritones sound good, and so do the woodwinds and the french horns, but I don't know about me. Since I'm the only trombone, there's nobody else to cover for me if I mess up! Agh, I can't even write music to let it go, the nontes form the concert keep coming up... Ugh...

So, would you like to know my username? Well, in that case I am known as Air as in, ya know, the stuff that keeps your alive? There is no real reason for this username, I've just always enjoyed the breeze ruffling you and it's my favourite element out of earth, fire and water. I don't have a nickname right now since I can't find any way to shorten Air, but if you can think of a way, you're welcome to call me that. Right now, I am debating changing my username to another though this is still undecided, time will tell whether I change my mind or not. Past usernames have been Back Caviar, after the famous Austrailan race horse, greenchickencurry, after my favourite food [ that was my first username, Pure Gold, ~icy~ and aρτέμη. I'm pretty certain there was one other past username but I can't remember it just now. xD

Ｎａｍｅ

Nina likes to boast about her name but what really is there to boast about? It's not a name that people make fun of so she's safe there but really it's pretty decent and ordinary despite this young girl making up wonderous lies behind the meaning of the name. Nina is a feminine given name of Spanish and Hebrew origin, and the meaning of Nina is "little girl; great-granddaughter". Her great-grandmother actually named her this, the old dragon took care of Nina after her mother's death just after she was born. In Europe it is a short form of names such as Marina and Katharina though Nina is her full name, it's not short for anything. Another meaning: God was gracious or God has shown favor in Hebrew; nice in Persian; beautiful eyes in Hindi; mother in Swahili; strong or mighty in Native American culture; friend in Arabic and flower in Old Greek. So basically, Nina can mean quite a few things but she doesn't know about these other meanings. A nickname of hers is Nin which she hates with all her heart but some call her Nana which she doesn't mind as much ; but really Nina's pretty short as it is already so there's not many ways to shorten it. By very close friends she is known as Mushroom after the young dragon ate a deadly mushroom on a dare, the nickname has stuck to her ever since that case and she actually quite likes it. If you want full names, it's Nina Eternal Twist. You see, her great-grandmother wanted her to choose her own middle name so she waited until Nina was old enough to understand before allowing her. Nina wanted a name that no one would forget so she proudly chose Eternal.

Ｇｅｎｄｅｒ

Seriously? Asking Nina if she is a girl or a boy will seriously bring on a rather snappy comment, meant to hurt you and maybe something to hurt you physically such as the female trying to actually bite you. Do not be surprised if this does happen, even if you made a joke about her gender she would probably be bitter towards you for the rest of your life. Alright, from a distance you might think that Nina is a male but when you get up close towards her, you would half to have half a brain and not be the very brightest dragon out there to ever think she's a male. Even when she's yelling, [ which is quite often actually ] her voice still seems sweet and isn't really loud. She has a female shape and would even be happy to show you the parts if it meant she could prove that she was a female. So, have we got this perfectly straight with no one at all mis-understanding? Nina is a female, likes being a female, would hate to be a male and it's unlikely impossible for her to change her gender in her lifetime.

I am sorry for the two pieces of art following these words, It's safe to say that I'm completely horrible drawing art on the computer. But I did try, I really did, just letting you know in case you think I've put no effort at all in these pieces.
x - There isn't really much to say about this piece of artwork, Nina is simply posing in front of the camera with her happy smile as the sun shines down upon her, feeling as beautiful as the universe itself.
x - Nina doesn't actually know that someone has the camera turned on her at this moment, she keeps this a secret and would quite cheerfully commit murder to anyone that told anybody else about it. It's always highly embarrassed her and no one knows though her friends would actually find it quite amusing ; the truth is you likes to play little games but Nina makes it sound all formal, drama. Here, she is pretending to be an old lady with a walking stick, her dream one day is to become an acter and really ; she's pretty d*mn good at the job too.
Sadly, the timers do not lie for these drawings ; yes, the first drawing did take three hours and five minutes, the second painting did indeed take one hour and forty-nine minutes. I rekon this just proves two things for certain ;
1. I have no life, duh. xD
2. It took be so long to produce such an ugly piece of artwork.

Ｓｔｏｒｙ

Nina blinked her eyes as she waited in peace and the meadow, blinking her eyes in the sunlight. A shape trotted over to the meadow and the young dragon gave a small smile at the sight of the other dragon, even one of a different type, coming towards her. She knew some of her kind would run at such a sight, scared out of theirs wits but Nina didn't move, instead her eyes were bright as she tipped her head to one side.

''Hey.''

The other dragon spoke with the same amount of joy she felt. It was a jewel named dragon, larger then herself with it's wings pressed calmly against his back. Of course it was Jay, the blue and black dragon of his kind. Nina knew other jellybean dragons didn't approve of their friendship together but she couldn't care less about it ; it wasn't as if something romantic was going on between them. He was Nina's best friend actually, Jay was basically her pesonality as a male, joking and friendly, it was why they were so well together.

She blinked her eyes a couple of times for a few moments, her mind wandering back to the day they met. It wasn't exactly a pleasant metting at first. Nina had indeed hidden her stash of sweets in the woods under a bush, away from her friend's thieving as she had caught them taking her chocolates several times before. So, she had gone there, once a week she went to stop her from getting too plump, Nina had looked under the bush and found her chocolates gone. But there was also some strange scent there ; one that made her fur bristle in both fear and anger, knowing what it was in an instant. It turns out the robber of her lollies had been a jewel maned dragon.

With fury pricking in her heart, Nina had gone in pursuit of the burgler who had left a trail that was easy to follow. She soon found Jay, basking in the sunlight with a rather arrogant face, all the sweets finished ; you could tell that by the scent of him. The jellybean dragon had yelled vicious things at him but for once, he didn't seem affected by her cruel words, he only seemed amused really. Soon enough, Nina realized it wasn't going to work but it only annoyed her more ; did this male think he ruled the world? Furious, she had stormed off only to meet him a few days later.

Eventually, after a rather long period of time the two had become friends and as the years passed ; they moved up to best friends. It just proved, Nina thought, that you didn't need to be the same kind to be friendly with each other. Though Jay still needed to pay her back those chocolates he had stolen. She had tried to bring the topic up several times but he had always found a way to change the subject, avoiding his crime. With that now firmly lodged into her mind, she opened her jaws to speak and reply to her friend. Besides, she could see he was getting bored and confused that she was taking so long to answer.

''Hi. What are our plans for today?''

Though Nina kept a rather un-interested face, she couldn't help but feel a little fear. Yesterday, Jay had told her that the next time they saw each other, he would take her on a little adventure. She could only think of what the male dragon had in mind ; probably something that would give her nightmares for weeks on end. Even now, she could see Jay's face twisted up in a smile, a deadly glint in his eyes as he watched her.

''Oh, you're surely not afraid of a little camping, are you?''

Nina huffed, skillfully hiding her fear and hid a barely surpressed shudder. Ugh, camping? She had heard very bad stories and had a bad feeling about this ; after all, weren't there snakes and spiders out in the woods? Ones that could kill you with a single bite? As reckless as Nina may be, she didn't want to die yet, she at least wanted a few more years. Instead of wussing out of it like her feelings screamed for her to do, she did the worst thing for herself. Why did she need to be the brave one all the time? Why couldn't she just be the one who gets scared easily every one in a while?

''A Jay's Lonely Song, of course I'm not afraid of camping. In fact, I rather enjoy it.''

He knew she was bluffing, Nina could see it deep in his eyes but she kept a cool face. Jay stared at her hard for a few moments longer before a wide grin spread over his face. Her heart sank, Nina had been hoping that Jay was the one who had been bluffing, that he hadn't actually ever planned to go camping with her and just desired for the female to have a nervous break down. Yet that wasn't the case and she wasn't going to back down, it seemed ao Jay was forced to follow through or back out himself.

''Why, that is rather good then. Shall we start by learning how to swim?''

Nina gulped without thinking before trying to turn it into a cough. This was the test ; Jay knew that she was deathly afraid of swimming, this was the challange set for her. He was just waiting for her to back out but Nina refused. She could get through it, couldn't she? If anything, Jay's task that had been set to scare her only made Nina angry which was quite good really ; she had found before that anger gave you the strength you needed to complete an almost impossible task.

''Oh yes. Of course, I can't wait!''

Jay allowed one smirk before she flew off, leaving Nina to follow behind at a steady trot. Oh, how she wished she could fly like Jay but what was the point wishing she could have things that was completely impossible to own? With a huff, she followed after him, thoughts of annoyance running through her head as she trotted along. It wasn't exactly fair though, was it? Jay had a blue jewel, meaning he had the power over water and could breath beneath the surface of water. He was born to swim. When she finally arrived, Jay turned to her with his eyes twinkling.

''So, you've finally arrived. Now, jump in the water!''

Jump into the water, just like that? Nina struggled to keep her face steady as she plunged into the icy cold river, paws failing as she struggled to stay afloat. But her chin began to slowly go below the surface despite Nina's best efforts, eyeslids began to grow heavy and droop. Water filled her mouth and her paws grow limp, was she dying? Nina tried to choke out Jay's name but he couldn't, her mouth was filled with water as she slowly sank to the bottom. Suddenly, sharp teeth sank into her scruff and pulled her upwards towards the surface, a blurry image easily swimming beside her.

''Nina! You scared me so much!''

Jay's panicked words rang in her ears as she struggled to raise her head, only for it to flop back down again like it weighed a tonne. For the rest of the afternoon, Jay didn't try to dare her to go in the water again though he showed her while she watched. It was quite beautiful really, basically it just look like the male was running on the water though she had sworn to herself never to go in water again. Okay, she would have a shower and bath every once in a while and would drink water but that was final. No more trips to the ocean or the lake, even though she only watched before, never entering the water.

It was growing late at night when Nina finally felt comfortable again, relaxed and easy-going. Her eyes turned to Jay who was sitting by the fire they had started together, the orange flickering flames climbing high in the sky while the heat warmed their coats, eyes closed in pleasure. Together, they roasted food over the camp fire until both their bellies were full ; Jay had taken the first turn of cooking but his attempt didn't go so well. The male dragon burned the food so bad that they couldn't eat it so Nina took over, making much better meals and cooking food that was good to eat. All through the night, Nina made gentle teasing comments about Jay's failed attempt at making to which he responded playfully.

''You know, this is the life.''

Jay's words made Nina smile, of course it was. She still thought it was strange they had come this far but she could easily say that Jay was her best friend and she wouldn't feel any sign of embarrassment anymore.

''I agree.''

Nina's words were murmured , you could barely here it but Jay's keen ears managed to pick it up, causing him to smile. He grabbed a stick and turned to her, the sizzling food hanging on the end before he spoke, voice filled with kindness as he spoke.

''Want another hot dog?''

''You bet.''
