● Me in a Nutshell ●
I am not a nice guy. I used to be, once, but I was foolish back then. Now I like harassing others. Yup, plain and simple. Not bad enough for them to have life sustaining injuries. Maybe a few scratches or small bite marks here and there, but mainly I like to scare other dragons. Make them think that I’m going to do something terrible. My old friends get it the worse, because they left me for dead, but unless you’ve somehow befriended me, or happen to be my girlfriend, then you’re fair game to me. I love slinking in the shadows, causing chaos, mayhem and destruction on a relative small scale. Can’t be on a large scale or they’ll come after me. Darkness is my friend, and it is the only thing that’ll make me feel safe. I usually hide out somewhere during the day, because it’s too bright outside, but at night, it’s my time to shine. I may have been a nice jewel before, but I am a cold, ruthless, unforgiving jewel now. I get my enjoyment and entertainment in other’s suffering, so watch out world, cause here I come!
Ignorance, the root and stem of all evil

● My History ●
I didn't always look like this. Ok, I was born a black jewel with a mainly black pelt, but I looked normal, you know without the bone wings, bone tail, scars and strange red markings. I use to actually be a nice guy, with a different name, Jason, they called me. Had lots of friends and my life was pretty good. But one day, something bad happened. I only a teen. I was walking home when a vicious gang of black and red jeweled dragons stopped me. They said they wanted me to join them, that I would make a good addition to the gang. I didn't want anything thing to do with them, and I told them that, but they didn't like that answer. They immediately attacked me, biting and clawing at my face, wings and tail. I tried fighting back but I was greatly outnumbered. I cried for help as I caught faint glimpses of other dragon walk by, but I was ignored. No one wanted to get in the gang's way. Eventually some of the gang members set my wings and tail on fire, but at that point it was too late. I was bleeding out, and everything slowly went black. It was only pitch black for a moment before a saw a bright white light. I started to head for it but was soon stopped by a large red dragon with a black jewel and a pitchfork.
"Jason," he said. "You don't have to die. I can save you."
I looked at the devil. "I know who you are. And something like that is never free. Plus, I'm a good jewel."
The devil laughed. "I can sense a hatred in you Jason. You called for help, but no one did. They just watched as you were beaten to death."
I looked away. He was right. No one even tried to help. No went to go get help, no one tried to help me themselves. They were to scared for their own safety. The more I thought about it, the more my hatred of those bystanders grew. "What would it cost, for you to heal me."
The devil laughed again. "I think you know the answer to that Jason." he said with a pause. "Your soul."
After some consideration, I agreed. "Deal."
The devil laughed. "Pleasure doing business with you, Jason."
After that, the bright light started to get farther away and soon I was able to open my eyes. I looked around, the gang was gone, and I was laying in a puddle of my own blood. I slowly stood up. The devil had kept his word for the most part up to this point, but I wanted to see if he healed any of my other wounds. I walked over to a puddle and saw the creature I had become. The devil had brought me back to life, but he didn't heal any of my flesh wounds. The flesh on my wings and tail was completely gone, and scars littered my body. But the most surprising thing was the new bright red markings that I know had, a "receipt" given to me by the devil to remind that I had sold myself to him. As I stared at my new reflection, an evil grin spread upon my face as I let my hatred flow. I was no longer a "good boy." The devil had made me a demon, and I had a new purpose in life: to harass those who stood and watched me die; to make them sorry they did nothing. But before I started my new life, I gave myself a new name; the name I now go by: Zagan, the demon king. Now I am constantly causing chaos and destruction, torturing those who did nothing.
The world's not a very comfortable place if you have a nightmare to face

● My Legend-
written by Amberblaze ●
One night, I was stalking the forest and came across what appeared to be a group of children and an adult out camping. They were sitting around a campfire. I was watching them, deciding whether or not to do anything. I recognized the adult. Her name was Ember. She sat around the fire, her pelt matching the fire’s bright flames and dark shadows. As she hushed the jewels sitting in front of her, on a classic camp log, she began to speak. “Welcome children, I have come to tell a tale of the demon who haunts these very forests, these very grounds.” She spoke loudly in a commanding voice, as the little ones became slightly intimidated by her large speaking voice and glowing red eyes.
As I heard this, a smile spread across my lips and I made myself comfortable in the shadows, so I myself could here the story knowing it was about me.
“Are you prepared for these words or will you run?” Ember asked loudly, watching the little watery fearful eyes of the children.
“I-I’d like to know.” one said nervously.
“Of course!” Cried Ember in delight. “But where shall we start?” She thought for a moment and announced, “For, we shall start where the demon came to be. For, it was said, long ago that the demon was created in hell for devilish deeds. For the devil himself created this hellish figure. He one day cried, 'For I have no love, only for those of the dead, who hate me!' He screamed in anguish and then made a plan. Taking fire and brimstone mixed with deadly thoughts and evil intents. Soon they were put together in a young jewel, but this jewel defied him, by being nice in the beginning.
He was innocent and acted towards the devil, Satan, as if he were his father. He called him 'Dada' but the devil disapproved of this mortal act. He called him foolish and burnt him with fire of the darkest pits of Hell. The fire was dark fire, magical and singed the wings and tail of the disobedient child.
The child cried out in pain. His wings and tail forever wiped apart, his tail just bone-” Ember paused for emphasis before continued. “And his wings are said to still be bloody and smell of fire from those dark days, made to bring fear even to the bravest of jewels.
Soon the jewel became angry and rose to face the fury of the devil. He attacked Satan but was soon put in his place, down on the ground, growing red marks, as if blood to show his disobedience. Soon great claws grew out of the child’s paws and a large fang from his mouth. Now covered in a few scars. 'You have defeated me father.' he said, head bowed down to the ground.
'You have beaten me.' The devil cried in delight. 'Then you shall serve me, for an eternity. Now go child, go cause chaos, discord and strike fear in the pure one’s hearts.'
The child did as he was told, now called Zagan. It is unknown how they came to this name but it soon spread throughout the lands striking fear, just as he had promised. Soon he burned down villages, haunted nightmares and attacked those who had acted like him, sweet and innocent.
Every month, when the moon is full, he is said to prowl these very woods, looking for souls to collect, moaning of the pain that the devil had inflicted on him with the dark fire of Hell. You can hear slow clanging as he approaches, but you will be unable to move. His blood red eyes, fixed on you, on your soul as he is determined to break it.
But he has been known to mix with mortals, hiding among the living, creeping into their lives and murdering them in their sleep or even breaking them slowly.
There is no escape from him and he will eventually meet you all, kill you slowly or quickly as you burn in hell forever. Nobody can escape, nobody but a few, the few he knows, the few he loves.
Now children, run. Run home and say hello to your loved ones, maybe you’ll die today. Maybe tomorrow. But be aware, don’t run away in the woods, for he has a taste for children in fear.”
The children began to look at each other, beginning to huddle together, now aware of the sounds. Ember laughed a rich, deep laugh.
“Now, you are scared, I see. Well let me tell you of the angel...."
I smiled as my half of the story concluded. Oh, how I admired the rich imagination of other jewels. They came up with an interesting backstory for me that struck fear into their very hearts. As Ember started talking about the angel I got up to leave, purposely breaking a decent sized stick and laughing slow but manically as I walked away. That alone should have been enough to give everyone at the camp nightmares to last a lifetime.

There is always good and evil, but evil is
power and those good are too weak to seek
it.
● Meet my Enemies ●
There aren't many that I have decided to call a friend after what happened to me. Pretty much everyone is an enemy to me, especially the angel JMD. I just can't forget how my supposed "friends" let me get attacked and didn't help or go get help. Now, if they weren't my real friends then, they certainly aren't my friends now, and by definition, if they aren't with me, they are against me. Then there are also the ones who believe I can be saved, aside from the angel JMD. They just irritate me beyond belief. I cannot be saved, and the sooner they realize that, the better.Enemies agree with you but friends tell you no
● Meet my friends ●
I didn’t think I’d ever have a friend again after my incident. That was, until I met Ashe. I know what you’re thinking. “How could you be friends with one of the sweetest, nicest jewels? And he’s even a yellow jewel, isn’t one of your weaknesses light?” How perceptive of you. But Ashe is really different from any “nice” jewel I have ever come across.
Ashe actually crossed my path, as I was lurking n the shadows trying to pick my next target. My eyes fell upon him, and I guess it was just his appearance, is green and white striped scarf waving in the breeze, that just made me want to have a little fun with him. When the moment was right, I pounced on him, pinning him to the ground.
He looked at me startled. “Whoa! What’s you’re problem?” he asked with a little fear in his voice. All I did was smile as I felt him take in my appearance. “And what happen to you?”
Without moving, I laughed. “You have no idea who I am, do you?”
“Um, no. I don’t think I’d be asking a question like ‘what happened to you?’ if I knew you. So who exactly are you?” Ashe asked me.
“My name is Zagan, and I, my friend, am a demon.” I answered him confidentially. It was only then I realized his facial markings, but I didn’t know they were markings at first. “Are you crying? That’s pathetic.”
Ashe looked at me genuinely confused. “No, I’m not crying. Those are my markings.”
Still, holding him down, I turned my head and gave him a thorough look over, noticing his other markings. “What do they mean?” I asked, truly curious.
Ashe sighed. “It’s a long story, but if you get off of me, I’ll tell you.”
I nodded, backing off and sitting down, waiting for the story.
Ashe rolled over and looked at me. “When I was little, I went to this elementary school. I enjoyed it. I made lots of friends and I liked my teachers. One day, I got really sick, so I stayed home, and I was lucky. Because that day, some monster came and killed almost everyone, kids and teachers alike. But one girl, a girl I barely knew, she was the sole survivor. She fooled the shooter by playing dead until it was over. As soon as I heard I ran to my school, despite my cold. I wore this scarf to keep me from spreading my cold. I quickly located the girl, gave her a big hug and started crying. I told her, ‘I’ll always be here for you. We’ll get through this together.’
The girl looked at me, and wiped away my tears. When she did, right where she touched me, my fur changed colors to a lighter silvery gray. And without speaking, she drew with her fingers something on my pelt and tail. When I finally looked at it, what I saw made me smile through my tears. Along my tail, she drew stick figure kids, on my rear, was her handprint, and on my legs was a rainbow, a sun, and some sort of UFO.
‘Thank you,’ I told her. ‘I love it.’ And that’s where my markings came from.”
It took a while for the story to sink in. It took me a while to even look at Ashe after he was done.
“I’m sorry,” was the only thing I said before I turned and started to walk away. I guess Ashe had other plans because he very quickly blocked my path.
“That’s it? An ‘I’m sorry’? Something similar happened to you didn’t it? That’s why you’re like this. Let me help you.” He confronted me.
I snarled at him. “Yes! But no one even tried to help me. I saw them. Just pretending that I wasn’t being attacked to death. I sold my soul to the devil just to stay alive. No one even cared. And I don’t need your help, now leave me alone!”
I tried to push past the smaller jewel, but he just stood in my way again. “No. I know you don’t want or think you need help, but I’m going to anyway.”
I glared at Ashe, “Why do you even care, huh? You don’t even know me.”
“But I’d like to know you. I believe everyone needs someone they can turn to, whether it’s a friend or a stranger. “
I just stared at him. No one had ever had the guts to stand up to me before. After a moment of silence I buried my head into Ashe’s shoulder and cried.
From then on, Ashe has been keeping a close eye on me. He is the only one I will ever listen to. It is a love-hate relationship though. I still cause chaos, but Ashe is the one who keeps me from going on a destructive rampage. It's just funny how opposites attract, him being a yellow jewel and all, but in a way, we aren't so different. I have just resorted to anger while he has taken the high road.
Love is Evil Spelled Backwards
● Evil Lovers ●
Now, normally I would laugh at the idea of a demon falling in love, but sadly, I do have my eye on someone, a pretty red jewel named Genevieve. She may sound like an "angel" but she is anything but. I met Genevieve not too long ago. I had actually retreated up to the mountains for a few days. Sometimes, when I’m not harassing other dragons, I just like to be by myself. There was a cave that I usually used. It was nice; small and dark, just perfect for me. I walked up the mountain, since I couldn’t fly, and I had finally made it to my cave. I was tired and just wanted to rest, so I just walked right in. However, as soon as I did, I smelled the intruder. Immediately I became furious.
“Get out of my cave!” I growled threateningly. I was in no mood to deal with this at the moment. I was surprised to get a pretty threatening growl in response.
“This isn’t your cave. I found it, and I’m using it. Go find a different one,” the voice answered. I was also pretty surprised that it was a female voice.
“No way! I’ve been using this cave for years! You go find a different one. You won’t like it if I have to come in there.” I growled again.
“Bite me!” was the only response.
“Suit yourself.” I said went further in. I bit down on the female’s tail and started to drag her out of my cave, hissing and growling. It was only then that I saw her. A red jeweled tan dragon, with red marks just like mine, but unique to her. I dropped her tail and stared at her for a moment.
“What are you looking at? I can’t believe you bit my tail. Look at it. It’s bleeding thanks to you.” she told me harshly.
With a shake of my head, I replied, “Your marks. They are just like mine.“
“Yeah, so what? That doesn’t change the fact that my tail is now hurting. Did you have to bite so hard?”
“So, I think they are pretty. I think you are pretty.” I said as I continued to stare and ignore her complaining about her tail.
“Really? You think I’m pretty?’ she asked. She sounded surprised, as if no one had ever said that to her before.
I smiled and nodded. “Of course! Anyone with eyes can see that.” I said to her. “My name is Zagan. It means demon king. I’m not really a king, but I just love the name.”
She returned the smile. “My name is Prof. Dr. Genevieve Conoe Psmith, but I go by Genevieve.”
I smiled. “Such a pretty name, “ I complimented her. “So, um, I’m sorry about your tail. If I let you share the cave with me, can you forgive me?” I asked hopefully.
She got up and circled me, looking me over before winking at me. “I’ll think about it.” she taunted me.
We shared the cave that night, and it was the first time since I changed that I actually felt somewhat happy. We have been seeing each other ever since. Eventually she told me that she was depressed, had social anxiety, had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and on top of that, she had killed someone. To me, we immediately seemed perfect for another, but we haven't done anything yet. I plan on changing that soon though, because I do think that we were meant for each other. Here is a love letter I wrote to her:
Zagan wrote:Roses are red
Just like our marks
That set us apart
And strengthen our barks
When I look at you
I see myself
So let me love you
And share my pelf
We go together
Like two peas in a pod
I care not
That you are flawed
Cause I am too
That’s why we make
A perfect pair
We are not a mistake

Just because it's evil it doesn't mean it's wrong
● Angels and Demons ●
You think a demon and an angel get along well? That's right, no. I live in the darkness, my only purpose and joy in live is to cause chaos and destruction. I am a black jewel and I take full advantage of it. The angel JMD is my opposite, doing good things and helping others. Blech! I try to avoid her at all costs and I think she is the same way with me, although I do think she believes she can "save" me. I am a creature of darkness, I cannot be saved. Whenever we do meet, there is usually a bit of a fight, but one of us usually gives in. We will never get along. Although the angel has the upper hand now, I will never stop trying to get on top. Ne-ver. In fact, this song describes our relationship quite well. (warning: This is a concert band piece and is 15 minutes long)This is usually what happens when we meet. (Citrus and I wrote this together when we did a little mock rp between the angel and demon):
The angel peeked around a tree. There it was! She placed one paw in front of the other, wobbly as she grinned and stepped up to the edge of the river. The rushing sound filled her ears, and she breathed deeply. She slid down onto a rock at the base of a miniature waterfall and thrust her muzzle, into the spray. She let her tail and paws drift down and submerged them, the fast water tugging at her fur and lapping at her muzzle. A light spray of mist made her wings sparkle like dewdrops. The angel lifted a paw out of the water and started using a couple soft rocks as paint and water as shading as she slowly created a picture of the falls on a dry rock near her. She smiled.
Little did the angel know, I crept through the forest, slinking through the shadows, looking for something to do. I perked my ears at the sound of splashing and a malicious smiled crept across my face. Quietly, I stalked towards the sounds until I came across a river with a mini waterfall. But then my eyes fell upon her. Suddenly, I had no wish to be near the river as my hatred for the angel was immeasurable. But something made me stay, but out of sight. I watched her, thinking bad thoughts.
The angel closed her wings so that her painting shone in the light in full color. She was lucky to have found some vibrant berries nearby to create less of a black and white scene. She smiled and raised her face to the sun glancing off the river, closing her eyes and spreading her wings to soak up the warmth. Right before closing them, thought, she thought she saw something. Her ears pricked and she turned her head into the darkness of the forest. Of course, she thought. Who else would lurk in the shadows in a day like this?
"Come out!" she called. "I know you're there!" She sighed and rolled her eyes. She knew I had no respect for the beauty of a sunny day.
I growled as I was discovered and took a few steps out into the open, staring at the angel with my blood red eyes. Staying in the shadows, I sat down, grazing my bone tail and jewel across the ground.
"What do you want, Angel?" I asked menacingly. I hated being around her, but I could easily take her if she annoyed me too much.
The angel rolled her eyes. "You know, you could really clean up that fur of yours. Such beautiful designs, but you never wash it. Come on." She raised an eyebrow at him and smiled. "And quit lurking in the shadows. There's nothing worse than a lack of vitamin D," she said playfully. With a second glance, she eyed him carefully. " And ya know, you really should do something productive with your time instead of being a stalker. No one knew I was here." She eyed him critically, only half-joking as she motioned her tail to the art piece she had spent her time on. "See? Art is productive." She sighed happily. "Its nice to add a bit more beauty to the world."
I snarled at her, showing my sharp, pearly white teeth. That was what I hated about her. She was always trying to get me to change, to save me from myself. A pointless task since I didn't want to change.
"There are only two jewels I'd ever listen to, and you are not one of them. In fact, you are the last jewel in existence that I'd listen to, if you were lucky. And you know I don't like sunlight." I growled at her. I looked at the rock she had just painted and smirked. I focused on the rock next to hers, and as my jewel started to glow, the rock blew up. "That's what I think about art and beauty."
The Angel laughed. "Oh Zagan, thank you! I knew you would do it. Now I just have to put it together and paint it, and I'll have a puzzle to take to the kid I'm babysitting!" She smiled widely. "And I guess there is one part of your looks you care about! Your teeth are so white." She poked his muzzle with her tail jewel. "Is that what you spend all your time on? Your teeth?" She laughed merrily.
I snarled, snapping my jaw inches from where her tail was, making a snapping sound. "Don't. Touch. Me. That is unless you want as many scars as I have." I snarled at her. I knew she was doing on purpose, just to tick me off. "Or maybe I could just take it out on the kid your sitting. Poor sap. Won't even see me coming." I threatened with a smirk.
The angel narrowed her eyes. "And then you would be sent to prison. And guess what?" She smirked. "You can't turn out the lights in your cell. And you are forced to go outside at the peak of the day, where there is no tree cover. What would you do then?" She smiled and flicked her tail over his ears. "What's the point?"
I laughed an evil maniacal laugh. I laughed so hard I was forced to lean on a nearby tree. "To those who will try to capture me, I wish good luck. I haven't been caught yet. You can't hold a demon. You of all dragons should know that."
The agel rolled her eyes. "Yeah yeah. Act all high and mighty." She leaned back against a rock and arched an eyebrow. "Good for you. But there's seriously no point. And really, I do know. I know exactly where you would hide." She gave him a knowing smile.
I smiled. "Yes, I know you think you know where I'd hide. But answer me this, angel. You really think you can take me on alone? We are yin and yang. You cannot defeat me."
"Nor you me." she raised her chin. "And what makes you think I'd be alone? Unlike you, I do not keep so much to myself. I would have people behind me, Zagan. You would not. Another way we are yin and yang." She gave him a grin. "That is why I, unlike you, do not need to threaten, because I don't need to bluff." She turned tail, flicking his ears again as she walked away. Pausing beside her art, she put a stroke of water in the corner of the painting, where the forest, and Zagan, was. She smiled at him, turned, and left.
I laughed again, but I knew she could no longer here him. "What makes you think I'd be alone. I have a few very powerful friends. Just you wait and see. Wait and see." I said before slinking back into the shadows of the forest.

I'm a demon, I just can't lose
● Poem #1 ●
I used to be a good little jewel,
But I never realized the world is just cruel.
Beaten and attacked while others just watched,
They all ignored me as I was repeatedly scotched.
Now I am evil, not doubt about it,
Cruel and destructive acts I do commit
To torture those who thought it’d be best
To just turn their cheek while I was distressed.
●Poem #2 ●
In the darkness I reside,
To no rules do I abide
Nearly everyone is fair game
For me to taunt, torture, and maim
So look out, cause I’m here to stay,
Maybe I'll find you someday.

● This JMD and Me ●
This JMD means a lot to me. You may not know this, but Elementstar and Amberblaze do. I am typically a nice person. I like gifting WL pets, and art to random people, and I'm a hard worker, but there is a dark side to me. Amberblaze has seen a lot of it, in my writing and art, and I personally believe that this JMD captures that part of me perfectly. Also, I have yet to own a JMD, so Zagan would be my first, if I was lucky enough to win him. I would love him so much, and spoil him to undeath? He and Genevieve would start dating, and possibly in the future there may be little Zagan and Genevieve jrs running around. Thanks for considering me as a possible owner for this wonderful JMD.
