Aquilo

❄ The Latin name of the Greek god of the north wind, Boreas. Although he was named so in the hopes of being as assertive as the deity of his namesake, Aquilo is actually quite anxious and sweet. I chose his name because he reminds me of winter, as well as winter winds.

❄ Boreas traditionally had purple wings, and even though I didn't realize that at first, I find it cool that he and his namesake share that similarity.

❄ I chose for his accessory to be a snowdrop hung around his neck. This allows for it to hang as it naturally would, and he wouldn't be able to think of a more creative way to adorn himself anyway. The flower blooms in the winter and remains dormant/closed in other seasons.

Besides the fact that his fluffy coat and brown colors make me think of a St. Bernard puppy, the name Bernard is a German name meaning "Brave as a bear", even though he is quite the oppostite of brave.

When he was younger he accidently split his special Snowdrop flower he always carried around. This caused him to cry nonstop, so his mother, to cheer him up, placed it on his head and told him it was better this way. He has worn it as a hat ever since.
