He stepped out unto the winter, his coat like the sky above.
The foal looked to his mother, unsure of the white world before him.
Her soft kiss whispered against his thick, wintry hide, telling him it was alright.
The colt looked back out at the cloud-like world, eyes filled with wonder.
His gossamer wings flitted in the crystal light, shimmering.
He hovered in the air, the same size as the snowflakes around him.
He watched them fall, shapes of glass from above.
A breeze carried him back to his mother, a gentle lullaby.
The mare bent her head low, nickering her affection to her child.
The colt whinnied gleefully, "Winter is the best season."
