Don't worry, the storm shall end soon.
And then we shall all dance in the sun.

Over to Bacardi Now...

Name:
Sundancer.

Age:
Eleven years old.

Gender:
Male.

His Favorite Game:
Putting water inside of more cup
like glasses that he makes and then using
them as musical instruments! However,
this little game also has a more personal
attachment to it. Before, him and his
mother would play this game together,
not being able to afford many toys for the
little bean to play with. Another reason, is
because in the music, if he strains his
hearing for awhile, he can sometimes hear
his parents joyfull singing.

Parent Applying:

Hello, my name is Bacardi. I am a currently
single twenty one year old bean
who currently lives with Ang3l. When I heard
about this little ones story, I just had to
try to adopt him, so I begged Ang3l until she
said yes, we would try.

Mate?:(Of applying JBD)
I don't yet have a mate...

Why Do you think You'll be a good parent?:
(Three Paragraph Limit)

I think that I would be a good parent because I have
already had some experience with beans younger than
myself. I have a little sister, named Toffee, of which
I love very much and would do anything for. Also, since
the day I ran away from my family, I believe I have grown
up alot, but still am open to have some fun. I think that
alongside Ang3l, I could help this little boy come out of
his shell a little bit, if not alot. I think that my background
with the loss of my own parents helps me to understand how
Sundance is feeling. I think that being still fairly close to my
own sisters would also allow Sundance to have a sense of
having his own family again, even if we may not be blood
related. I just simply feel for this little bean, and would
be here to lend a shoulder if he ever needed it, even
if I didn't get the chance to have him live with us.

You might see me around the Fanclub, there I'm Capt'n_Blizz.

Name:
Amir
Means "commander" or "prince" in Arabic.
Yes, he could be named after some Sandstorm or other Disaster in his past, but I see more beyond him. He is a prince, he rules his own destiny. He won't be held back by the troubles of his past.

Age:
6 Years.
Yes, he's not the tiny bean you typically adopt, but that's what makes him so appealing. You can see the hurting heart in him that just wants to be loved.
He was born May 5th, 2007.

Gender:
Male
He seems more Masculine to me, it takes a tough bean to deal with fire and sand all day long.

Parent Applying:
Base

Mate?:
Blueberry

Image
His Favorite Game:
He loves to play prince.
He'll put on a tiny crown, surround himself with his glass vases, and pretend that was his kingdom. He feels, in this way, he can protect them from the harms of this world. He can always be watching over them like any good prince. He'll pretend to sword fight with other beans 'challenging his authority.' He'll protect the vases that so delicately hold his loved ones. Maybe, they won't be taken from him, if he could just be a better ruler.

Favorite Movie:
Disney's "Aladdin"

Theme Song:
Safe and Sound, by Taylor Swift

Why Do you think You'll be a good parent?:
Base wrote:First off, I've had to raise two kids before. You can say, "I've been around the block," a few times before. With Leo now a teen, he's out of the house more often than not, and there's a empty space to fill. I've always wanted to help the hurting and abandoned hearts, I was left myself, and I know how it feels. I can see the pain in his eyes from losing his parents, and I'd do anything to fill those holes. I'd love him to pieces, give him everything I have. Yes, I do have a mate and two kids already, but that doesn't change how much I would love any child placed in my care. He'd be mine to love, and that's how I see it.

I was left too, alone in this broken world. I don't remember my parents, any siblings I had, where I lived when I was born, anything. I understand what he might be going through. You could place disorders and mental conditions on him until morning, but I know what really might make him cling to those vases so irrationally. All he needs is love, and I can give it. Once he see's I'll be there for him no matter what, he'll have no need for those vases and grow up to have a wonderful, normal life. All he needs is someone to walk besides him and help him, and I can do it. Yes, it will be a long and tedious path, but I'm up for the change! It's been my dream to help children like Amir.

Yes, you could choose some couple who can't have kids or some single bean who's always wanted a bean and could never have one, but you could also choose me. Don't look at my paws and those things around me, look at my heart. I would do anything for this bean, for any bean hurting. It's my passion to help others along the Path or Life. Please let me take home my little boy.

I Met With Him The Other Day....:
Image

Base; "So Amir, don't be afraid, I know this is our first meeting, but I won't hurt you." He curls his tail around his paws.
Amir; "♪ When you wish upon a star.... mHmmmmm, hmmmmm, hmmm... Dreams come true... ♪" Amir sat, fiddling with his tail, keeping his gaze from the stranger.
Base; He frowns slightly, trying to regain his spirit. "Well, I'm Base! I hear you're Amir, right? It's nice to meet you." He smiles warmly, sticking out his paw for the child to shake.
Amir; He looked up quickly at the large male, darting his gaze back to the ground. "Yeah..." He replied weakly, "I'm Amir...." He gingerly grabbed the bean's hand, shaking it lightly and drawing his paw near to his body again.
Base; He was over-joyed by the slight progress he was making. "Well, I hear you like to play games too. What kinds of games do you like to play?"
Amir; He nervously adjusted the small crown on his head, grabbing his vases nearby and hugging them. He didn't say anything, just sat there, looking down at his vases.
Base; "Those vases are very pretty, did you make those?" He tries to seem inviting, but the tiny bean seemed to shy away even more.
Amir; He quickly got up, tugging at the fur of the Orphanage working manning the door. He kept his gaze to the floor. "I'd like to go back to my room..." He quickly scurried out the open door, you couldn't tell if there was a tear in his eye or not.
Base; He sighs and stood back up, looking over at the worker. "That boy will be mine one day, no matter how much he'd rather sit alone in his room."

Amir wrote:May 5th, 2013
Dear Diary,
It's my Birthday!
I wish my mommy was here, and daddy...
The nice worker here at the orphanage said, if I told him what to say, he'd write it down here for me.
He said keeping a diary or journal would help me feel better. I don't really think it's working.
There's been this bean coming to see me every now and again. He keeps telling me he's going to give me a home, take me to meet my new siblings and mommy. He says he'll be my new daddy, which I'm not really sure what that means.
What about my mommy and daddy? I know the sandstorm took them, but are they never coming back? They said, if I wish hard enough, I could do anything I put my mind to. Well, I put my mind to bringing them back, and they aren't back...
Base, that was my new daddy's name. I almost forgot. Well, Base told me that, when ever I look at the stars, it's all those I care about, who are gone now, looking down on me and watching over me. It's all those beans someone ever loved who've gone. Sometimes, I was to just fly up there, ride the light coming from my vases to the stars, to find my mommy and daddy again. All the other kids here laugh, telling me that's impossible. Well, I don't believe them! I will find my mommy and daddy again. Maybe I should go home with Base and his family. I asked them how tall their house was one time, and they said it was huge. So, maybe I could climb onto their roof and reach for the stars. Then, then I can go home to my family! That stupid sandstorm... I wish I really was a prince, then I could have stopped it...

Well, it is my birthday.
The workers here are getting me a cake, with 6, count 'em, 6 candles on it!
If I blow them all out, I get a wish, but I can't tell anyone what I wish for.
Though, I bet anyone could guess what I'm wishing for.

Maybe, one day, I'll go home with Base. Then, I'll go and climb onto that roof and find my family.

I will!...

The Time Had Come:
"Let me have my son!"
Base screamed from the door, the guards holding him back with all their force.

The Arabian Government had just issued a new foreign policy with all that was going on between Israel and Syria. They decided to ban all orphans from leaving the country, if you were once Arabian or Arabic, you must stay within the borders. They feared that information could be sold/smuggled out by any medium, even small children such as Amir. The U.S. Government, in trying to settle an agreement with their beloved Middle Eastern 'friends' allowed for the retaking of their orphans. They put out a warrant for all those children of Arabic background. All children were to be flown back to the Arab Peninsula by May 12th, 2013.

Base caught wind of all that was going on at 11;32 AM, May 6th. He had only a few days to either A- Give up on the bean he was in the middle of adopting, or B- stand up and fight. And, good 'ol Base, he stood up, like any father would do, and marched down to the Orphanage.

He managed to get their right in time, the officers were just counting the Arabic Children, lining them up against the far wall of the main room. Base came crashing in, ignoring the protests of the Lady at the Front Desk. I immediately officers were on him, pinning to the ground.

"Stand down Sir! Stand down!" They called, jerking his paws behind him.
"In my pouch, far right, you'll find my badge. Detective Base Jones, NYPD. I demand to be released." Base calmly replied from the ground, flaunting his badge and brushing himself off as the officers released him.

"Well Detective, what is it you need?" The Head Officer of the operation replied, "I hope you aren't looking to take one of these beans, I'm under strict orders."
Base sighed slightly, shaking his head, "That's exactly what I'm here to do, sadly." He stuck his paws in his coat pocket, leaning back nervously, "I'm sorry, but I need to take home my son."

"I'm afraid we can't do that, unless you want to get in deep trouble with the Arabian Government." The bean replied, "Unless you can find some way to pry the child from our paws, I don't think we can help you."

"Here, I've got an idea." He went up to the front desk, "Do you mind if I?..." He pointed at the files on the back counter. The lady hesitantly allowed for him to search through them.
"I know it's illegal and fraud, but this might just work." He flipped through a vanilla envelope. "This child died here at the Orphanage a week ago, and the papers aren't completely finalized. He was of the same birth year and gender as Amir over there." He motioned to the child, his son, whom he longed to just hold in his arms and take home. "Now, it sounds crazy, but the Arabs never put in much as to information on Amir's files when he was sent over. That's what's taken me so long to adopt him. It might be possible to switch the files. There are too many Arab children for the Arabian Government to carefully comb through every child that comes back. They might see it as a fatality." He tried to look pleading, maybe these officers would let him do so.

"It's a stretch..." Said the Head officer, "But, tell you what, I'll let it slide, only because you seem to care so much for the child. But, if I'm ever up there in NY, you owe me one, big time." With that, the bean handed Amir over to Base, Base quickly scooping the tiny bean up in his arms.

"You're finally going home, Amir..."

Name:
Kei
Age:
He is 8 years old.
Gender: Male
Parent Applying: Ember
Mate?:(Of applying JBD) Josh
His Favorite Game:
Rock Paper Scissors!
While it may seem boring to most, It
made a great game while traveling. Since most of the time, pouches were filled with supplies, and sometimes younger beans, leaving little room for the older ones. They normally rode on their parent's backs or on camel back when they found a Human group to travel with. Being so this make it easy to play Rock, paper, Scissors, even when hiding to avoid a sandstorm.

Why Do you think You'll be a good parent?:
Dear Orphanage in regards to your little bean,
I Know what its like to lose family, It's happened to me
twice however that isn't the point of why I'm filling out this application.
I Love children. I may not exactly have experience in raising children,
but I've got an amazing brother and sister in-law that have two beans
of their own and I'm sure wouldn't mind giving me advice.
I have plenty of room from Kei's Vases.
If someone truly caring for him makes him not need them, that's fine
but if he never stops needing them, I will never stop loving him for who his and the beautiful artwork he creates.
I Love blown glass, In fact, I have two.
I also, and In fact colorblind. Have been since birth. But I seriously
hope that doesn't affect my chance of getting this little sweety.
I also believe Josh would be a great father.
He loves kids just as I do and I am sure he will love him as much as he loves me.
I also am sure he will love Kei for who he is no matter what happens.
Sincerely,
Ember.

The First Meeting

"Thank you Sir." Ember smiled as a man held the door open for her as she walked into the orphanage. She walked up into the Front desk. "Hello. I'm here to see Kei." "Third room on the right miss. He'll be there in a few minutes." Ember nodded and headed down to the room. She sat down in one of the chairs and took out her drawing pad while she waited. She heard the door open and she looked up to see glass vases being put on the table before Kei's face appeared. "H...Hi" "Hello Kei. I'm Ember." "I won't have to call you mommy if You take me home will I?" Ember blinked at the question, confused for a second before she gave a big smile. "No Pumpkin, You can Just call me Ember or Ber.." Kei gave a shy smile. "Those are some nice glass Vases there. You make them?" Ember asked, tilting her head. "Y...yes. My daddy taught me how. They protect my family because they got lost in a sandstorm. They know I'm ok though, My Mommy always wanted me to grow up and be famous one day." Ember smiled. "They are very pretty. What colors are they?" Kei blinked and looked at his presous vases, confused by her question. Couldn't She see they were red, pink and blue? "They're Red for my mommy, Pink for my best friend ever and Blue for my daddy. Why'd you ask?" "Well you see Kei, I'm colorblind. I can't see colors like you or most people. I see them as White, grays or black." "Oh No! Your eyes are Broken?! Are my eyes gonna get Broken too?" Kei cried out in alarm. Ember quickly stood and walked around to him and knelt down on the floor" No Kei! Your eyes won't get broken.. Besides I've always been like this. If others coulkd have gotten it from me, all my friends would have 'broken eyes' already." Ember laughed. Kei smiled. "Oh...hehe oops." As Ember stood she bumped the table, knocking a vase off. Ember quickly caught it and handed it to a very worried Kei. "Sorry 'bout that. I'm just so frazzled today. My Boyfriend asked me to marry him yesterday. I'm not normally like this. I apologize Kei. I'd out have been heart-broken if I had broken one of your vases. I know they mean so much to you. Forgive me?" Ember asked. Kei looked at his vases before he pout the pink one on the table and walked over to Ember and hugged her. "I Forgive you, Ber." The Door Opened. "Uh sorry guys, Times up." Ember sighed. "I'll try and see you next week ok Buddy? " "Ok Ember. Bye!''

    ∆ ∆ ∆
    Username: Bronwyn
Name: Cairo, named after the Egyptian Capital. He probably had another name at one point, but he insists on being called this in honor of his family. We let him be called whatever he wants to though; we believe in letting children's imaginations grow.
Age: Cai is 5 years old, and growing fast.
    Gender: Male.
    ∆ ∆ ∆
Parents Applying: Tiggery and Shasta would like to apply as a set of parents, rather than just one. They've been wishing for a bean of their own for a while now, and adopting a child is such a perfect opportunity.
Mates: Tiggery, and Shasta, owned by Sable. Sable and I are both very excited about this bean, and have agreed to try out for him. She has helped me with this form, writing the section on why they should be good parents. Hopefully this team effort will pay off. ♥ We have discussed this bean quite a lot, and have decided what we would do with him if we won. We have a plan, and have secured a home for him if we should be given such an opportunity.
    ∆ ∆ ∆
His Favorite Game: Cairo, despite his past involving traumatic experiences with sand, this little bean is often found in the sandbox in the back yard. Strange, yes, but all the same. We have built a bit of a hut around it to keep the sand from ever blowing around in the wind - which is a rather terrifying thing for him to experience more than once a year in the first place. He helped us build it, so it's a bit shabby, but he loves it with all his little heart. The sandbox isn't very large, and we filled it with sand from around the orphanage; his way of taking his home with him, and helping to ease him into this transition. Cairo often spends hours outside in his hut in the sand, keeping his jars close by at all times, and building little cities in the sand with us, and playing 'Godzilla' and stomping on them from time to time. We think he's taking huge leaps and bounds with this, and we're incredibly proud of him for being so brave. I think he feels braver when he can sit on the sand and know he doesn't have to be afraid.
Why do you think they'll be good parents?: Tiggery would be a great father-figure for the bean. He's not strict, nor judgemental of others. He always takes a moment to think before he says or acts, very carefully. Tiggery is a bit of a kid himself, meaning he could relate to the bean well, and he's very supportive. Shasta has lots of experience with young beans. She regularly takes care of Akari, has babysitted for a other couples and grew up helping her younger sister. She is very light-hearted and caring. This bean would be in a supportive nurturing environment with them. Both Shasta and Tiggery have been wishing for a bean of their own, but cannot breed due to her YFS. They are both very loving dragons who could raise a bean to make a positive difference in the world. Even if the bean is not related by blood, they'd love him as unconditionally as if he was anyway.
    ∆ ∆ ∆
    Extras:
Art piece #1 - Protective Cairo.
    #2 - Grown-up Cairo.
I have a sketch of his sandbox, as well as one of a satchel that Cairo uses to carry the jars around in. I plan on making more art as well as ordering some, and possibly adding other extras on such as personality and further details as to what we plan on doing with Cairo if we win. ♥
