What is a whelkon?

A Whelkon is an old, rare and a quite undiscovered species that seems to resemble a wolf, an elk and a dragon.
With it's long, hooved legs, strong majestic antlers and a wise wolve's head, they seem the ultimate ancient creatures.
They have a soft, forgiving nature but a spirit that will never be broken.
Roaming our lands, trying to survive each day and hoping they won't get discovered by the greedy human hands.

Gender: Male
Personality: Auburn isn't shy, at least not around those he knows, but he's always a bit cautious - and some what un-willing to meet new people/Whelkons. He thinks of his self very much as un-important and has a lot of self doubt - perhaps because of an event when he was young? We shall never know. - blushing at any compliment and mentally noting them down. He's of the friendly sort towards friends and tends to slip back into the crowd.

Name: Zanlafor

Gender: Male.

Personality: Wise, forgiving and kind. Those are what first come to mind when one thinks of Zanlafor. He is no stranger to arguments and knows how to make a compromise in order to settle differences. Zanlafor holds no grudges, though do him wrong and he will never forget it. He won't treat one differently for it, but he will be more cautious as to what he trust you with and what to do. He won't trust easily at first, but show him your worth and he'll having no problem trusting you after
Zanlafor cares deeply, and this can often cause him problems. Once he let's one into his heart, they are never truly out. He can not be easily deceived and isn't at all gullible. He is smarter than he looks and uses that to his advantage. Though many come to him seeking for advice and help, Zanlafor prefers being left alone. He enjoys the silence and will hardly speak unless spoken to. He observes everything very closely and always has a plan for a situation.
Just as he is smart and kind, Zanlafor can also be conniving and manipulative. Always have to stay on your toes around this bloke.

Bark Wood
I chose this name because the design on the top of his back leg looks like bark, and though it is redundant it sound better then just Bark or just Wood, it really seems to fit him.

Gender:

Male
I can't say exactly why I chose this, he just looks like he'd be a boy.

Personality:

He's outgoing but most others avoid him because he seems grumpy and mean. He's really nice but he can't control his emotions very well. He cares about others and tries to help those in need.
He is easily distracted and this may make him seem unfit for a dangerous adventure, but if your ever in trouble, he will stand by your side and protect you. He has an Adventurous personality and will go on an adventure anytime, anyplace, he will explore the most dangerous places and not even be afraid.
Bark Wood may seem like an idiot at times, like when he goes on extremely dangerous adventures on his own, but he is actually very smart. He loves to study things and a fair share of his knowledge comes from his expeditions and observations, he also loves to gather as much information from other Whelkons as he can.
He loves to tell the stories of his adventures to others, but generally only some of the Whelks are interested, Most of his friends are young Whelks that like to hear his stories and want to go on an adventure with him. He loves to go on adventures with Whelks but he makes sure they aren't dangerous ones due to their young age, and he loves to go on dangerous ones with the Whelkons he befriended when they were young Whelks that loved his stories. He loves to pretend he's on an extremely dangerous adventure with the Whelks that like to listen to his stories and he loves to make it seem as real as possible without there being any true danger at all.
Bark Wood is a true friend and will protect you at all costs, if you'll let him be your friend, he is an all-around good guy even though he can't control his emotions well.

His nickname is Shire.
I'm not quite sure why I chose this name, but it seemed to fit him perfectly to me.

Due to his darker colors, I would choose to make him this gender.

{~Standoffish~}

Shire is the type of person who just stands back and watches life happen. He doesn't care about it if it doesn't involve him directly. Things that affect him are his only concern. For example, his outlook on someone being bullied or a thief robbing a store is, "stay out of the way and maybe he won't notice me."

{~Loner~}

Where some people like partners or groups, maybe having friends, Shire is extremely independent. He often will go off on his own to some secluded area, away from everybody else. He doesn't have many friends, and has no family. The friends that he does have are seldom present. Even when these affiliates are around, they sort of ignore him, aside from occasional small talk. Besides that, he doesn't enjoy hanging around people anyways. He doesn't like help or company, not that he gets it much.

In terms of being a goody goody, Shire is not. He rarely listens to requests or demands, let alone orders. Being defiant and sometimes rude, has gotten him into trouble and mishap, countless times.

Let's just say the Shire doesn't exactly have the most bouncy additude ever. As mentioned before, he keeps to himsellf, finding his own solitary places in the forest to do his own things. Everything he does is dark and mysterious, creating an aura of disturbance around him. This may be another reason he has few friends. Everyone is repelled because of his wierd and dark traits. He doesn't make an effort to change himself, or try to get rid o this darkness and mysteriousness, but everyone else does.
