I carefully stepped through the dew-covered grass, escaping from the world of sleeping beans to my own special place. I only went here at night - that's when everyone was asleep and I was free to roam to my heart's content. The moon hung high in the sky and despite my fear of the darkness, I pressed on, bushwhacking through the bushes that hid my special place. Finally, after what seemed like hours of walking but was only a few minutes, I reached my special place. It was a medium-sized field type place, and the grass in the middle of the field was crushed from when I had sat there the day before. I step into the middle, where the moon shined directly overhead, and lay down on my back. It was beautiful. I could hear the gentle falling of water - there was a miniature waterfall-like object nearby. This was the only place I felt like myself. I didn't have anyone to even tell about my special place because I'm far too shy to talk to anyone, but sweet nonetheless. I got up from my special place and decided to go exploring. I did more bushwhacking and found myself at a place where there were three trees seemingly folded together. I pushed past the leaves that hung low to the ground and slid through the tight spaces between the tree trunks, and what I found was something more amazing than my original special place. The moon was still somehow directly overhead, and there was a small field, clear of bushes and stray leaves. I carefully stepped into the field and lay down on the grass, looking up at the sky. It was more beautiful than anything I could've imagined. But then something happened, something I never wanted to - I woke up. (303 words |D)

A female deer
I picked Doe, since it's nothing to fancy yet it's beautiful.
backstory;;
I stood silently between two pine trees watching.
I cocked my little head and stared at the small body,
it's pattern so like my own.
Why had the herd abandoned one of their young?
My paws stepped lightly across the clearing towards
the small fawn.As I neared it I could see the small rise and
fall of the skinny chest of the infant. Suddenly I feared that she
would die and I tiptoed towards her, my shyness still not
overcome.Then a strange smell filled my nostrils.I threw my head
up in the air only to see apainstakinly thin doe stumble away from
where she hadbeen fondly watching her fawn. I sadly thought
that she was near death and vowed to look after her daughter.
Carefully I padded up to the fawn and curled up round her
,sheltering her from the cold. I remained like that until
dawnbreak. Only eleven years old yet looking after a
young fawn as if it was my own.
A year later
"Doe!" the cry was urgent and fearful.Scared for her
adopted daughter and friend, Doe hurtled towards the
pleading cry.She sniffed the air and froze the familler
smell of Fae was mingled with a strange smell.
Curious she slunk forwards
towards the clearing and took the sight in.
Flattened against the ground was Fae who was
staring up at the small human who was saying quietly
and softly to her "Hush little deer I won't hurt you".
Doe gently crept into the clearing but made a rustling with
her paw.The girl slowly swung her head round and opened her eyes
wide. "You're not a deer..." She murmered. (210)

The wind whispered in the trees overhead, rushing through the long grass and disturbing the leaves scattered thickly on the forest floor. A small brown shape moved quickly among the thick trunks of the oaks, snuffling the floor desperately. A small whimper of terror escaped her, and she instantly darted into the shadows.
*Hush now, Jenny...* She thought to herself, her dark eyes widening in growing fear. After waiting a little while to make sure the coast was clear, Jenny emerged from the darkness and continued her search. *Oh mother... Where are you?* a tear slid down her face and fell onto the leaf littered ground. *Father... Sister... Brother... Where have you gone? Don't leave me alone!* She pricked her ears, hearing human voices raised in anger, and dashed into a hollow tree.
"I reckon there's one left, Sam."
"Nah. You're going bats. We scared 'em off good an' proper, getting that mother one." Said a second voice, presumably the one called Sam.
"Ah, Sam. But I'm sure I heard somethin'."
A third voice broke in, it's tone doubtful. "I think Jake might be right, Sam... I saw a little 'un runnin' off that a-way, see?"
Jenny peeked out carefully, and saw the owner of the third voice pointing in her direction. In the arms of one human she saw the limp body of... No... It couldn't be... But the spots were undoubtedly... Her mothers... She fought desperately against the wail of horror rising within her, trying not to imagine what had happened to the rest of her family.
"Nah. Let's get out of here. This place is beginning to give me the creeps. That little 'un will be dead within days, without her parents to feed her."
Jenny shrank back into the recesses of the tree, hearing the footsteps fade. *I can go to the city! There are humans there, kind ones that can care for me...* She nodded to herself and, after checking her surroundings for predators, set off in the direction of the city.

Once when Avery was just a teeny bean, she was found by a heard of deer. They saw her as their own, as she looked like a child of the heard, she, for once in her life, felt accepted. As a year past, she stayed with that heard, but as she grew, they started to notice a lot more changes. They noticed she wasn't a deer after all, they had no clue what to do with her. One night they left her, realising she was becoming a hassle to feed, or hide from predators. The next morning Avery woke up to not her heards warmth, but the cold, winter ground. Avery looked around in shock, she just found out all she loved, all she cherished, was taken in one night.

Life began in tears for me. Out alone in the forest, left alone, protected by nothing, but the shade of a mighty oak tree. You may wonder why someone would ever be left alone, I don't know the answer. The woods always gave to me the fruit of spring and the cool change of winter, but the inhabitants were always there, ready. I spent my whole life hiding away underneath the roots of that oak tree. Trust cannot be freely given, for then it is only broken and crushed. Survival was my one goal in the forest, even if that meant no friends or anyone to trust. As the dark night set in, I would hide as tears brimmed my eyes. The sparkle of the stars were my only light through the time of darkness. The light finally led me to a more permanent home where other Jellybean Dragons resided. I was never the same though, the memories still flashed through my mind at night and kept me up gazing at the stars. My status was undesirable, still alone with no one to trust. My self esteem even worse, nervous breakdowns when introduced to anyone and lack of speech. The outcomes terrible, when I did talk I appeared rash and cruel. I was only myself, lost in my thoughts of my mind, imagining what life could've been like, and planning or wondering what I could do to somehow make it better.
