Name:
Amaguime Dolu; but nicknamed Dolu.
this is the name of the real life human diviner in bongo.

Which African tribe did he come from?:
dolu comes from the dogon tribe in the village of bongo. this tribe is known for their geometric masks and cliff landscape. on the land, the dogon tribe looks like they live life in a barren land, showing few crops and dry grasses. once atop the cliffs, the soil is rich with nutrients and life. dolu finds this a great quality, as it shows visitors that if they are to look further, they will find a healthy and thriving tribe society. on the cliffs, many crops are grown and pigeon droppings are collected, as well as ancient west african artifacts. the droppings make for a great fertilizer, which is used to create crops of onions and other root plants.

What African custom/tradition does he always follow?:
dolu is a diviner. when it is nearing night time, dolu perform rituals in the sand by himself. he draws and writes in the sand, asking questions from the tribe members for a sacred fox to reply to. as the morning arrives, you can find him interpreting fox and animal tracks which have crossed his messages and drawings. he channels his energy and spirit into the tracks of the sacred fox and others, creating an answer for his tribe members to listen to. dolu also climbs the cliffs of bongo to search for ancient artifacts to sell at the market. at the tops of the cliffs, dolu feels at peace with the land, and writes just his own personal art and messages in the sand for the sacred fox to answer. it is said that dolu is a lonely sort, but he enjoys partaking in the social occasions of his tribe, which includes spiritual dancing and mask wearing.

Name: Alaba (African name meaning on person, and individual)

Which African tribe did he come from?: Alaba came from the Zafimaniry tribe. The Zafimaniry tribe is specifically located in Antoetra, in central Madagascar. The tribe is known to be masters of woodwork. Tourists go there from all over the world, mainly to see their woodwork.
The Zefimaniry are a sub-group of the Betsileo ethnic group of Madagascar. The tribe has inhabited the forested mountains of the southern central highlands. They speak a dialect of the Malagasy language, which is a branch of the Malayo-Polynesian language group derived from the Barito languages, spoken in southern Borneo.

What African custom/tradition does he always follow?: Alaba follows the tribe custom of woodwork. He is constantly carving wood, especially wooden beads which he then paints and makes into necklaces, bracelets, etc.
Alaba likes to do things on his own, and even started his own 'mini-shop', where he is constantly crafting and selling his work to his customers. Some of the things Alaba makes of wood are figurines, bowls and cups, beads, and much more.
All of his woodwork is tribal though, and based on the customs of the Zafimaniry tribe, especially the decorative designs and shapes he puts into the wood. It's a unique pleasure to see his work, and learn about his tribe.

You can call me Raver , Kesha, Fluffy, Wolf xD Feel free to call me any of those, or even Holly!

Name: (African name would be awesome!)
Yes, i know its not African but i actually find the name Dorrito quite fitting. Dorrito shows a strong, playful ring to it. Someone in my opinion that is determined and brave. Not just that but i actually wanted to be unique with the name. His nickname is Beady or even Crispy.

Which African tribe did he come from?: (And why if you want to gain points!)
Dorrito derived from the Tribe, Zulu. When he was born, all he saw were colours, the amazing displays of his tribes decorations and clothing. He much preferred the life of imagination and family life with this tribe. He found others quite dull and non-expressive.

A song they used in his tribe is True Colours by Phil Collins. They spend time singing it through sad and happy times to encourage you to be yourself and be colourful in and outside. To admire colours and realise that this world is special and has a significant role. Just like the beads to this tribe and Dorrito. The beads show his True Colours.

What African custom/tradition does he always follow?: (And why/how/etc if you want to gain points!)
Dorrito follows the creative tradition of bead-making. The intricate patterns on the wooden beads and the sound of them clicking together. His unknown father gave Dorrito his beads when he passed the rite of passage.
They always seem to intrigue him into the artyness and how he could and others could quite express themselves through beads.
He uses a variety of colours, such as light bright colours for happy moods and celebrations and more dark colours for the sad.
He enjoys the colours and the variety of these little creations. That's why he loves making beads. Small beads, a few big beads there and over here. He loves to make them for everyone and turns out he might make one for you soon too! :)

Fʏɴɴ

Username;;
lipton
My username is the name of my Kiamara, which kind of let's you know that's I'm a dedicated owner.
Name;;
Fynn
Fynn is the name of a river in Ghana, his home-land.
I thought that the name of a river was fitting for Fynne. I imagine him as a go-with-the-flow kind of bean, and rivers come to mind. So upon searching for a name, I came upon the river Fynn in Ghana and decided that he would be Fynn, a beautiful river.

Which African tribe did he come from?;;
In the Ashanti tribe, there are many roles, (Chief, herbalist etc.) but one of the most important is the linguist, who's role is unique to this tribe. The linguist is both a messanger and editor in many ways; when one wishes to converse with someone of importance in the tribe, they speak to the linguist who will rephrase it in a manner that is appealing to his audience.
Fynn would be a linguist, one who tries to smooth out delicate situations and keep the tribe running smoothly.
To learn about the Ashanti tribe in Ghana.

What African custom/tradition does he always follow?;;
A custom among the Ashanti, and many other tribes in the area is to use proverbs.
They are often very poetic and meaningful to the society. The Ashanti have a large history with trees, and so instead of saying, "The chief has been killed." They might say, "A mighty tree has been cut.". Often times they are very confusing, but Fynn tries to keep them comprehensible.
He speaks like this because as a linguist it helps him communicate with his people; they use proverbs and so to understand and convey the meaning of what he has to say, he uses proverbs as well.

Which African tribe did he come from?: The Luo tribe! He came from the Luo tribe because (apart of its easy pronunciation), the legends told there are magical.
What African custom/tradition does he always follow?: Whenever Mufasa visits his homeland, Kenya, he goes to the Mikayi Rocks, hoping one day he will spot Kit Mikayi (the mother of the Lou tribe), and maybe, if he is able to see her, say hello or something.

Name:
Sanura
-Sanura is really the Swahili name for Young Cat.
Which African tribe did he come from?:
Sanura comes from the Anyi tribe.
The Anyi people (or Agnis) are an ethnic group in southeast Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana. They are an Akan people who speak the Anyi language.

The Anyi people are a subgroup of the Akan, originally from Ghana, who fled the from the Ashanti tribe to their current location in present day Ivory Coast between the 16th and 18th centuries. They established the Kingdoms of Indene, Sanwi, and Moronou, it should be noted that another group of Anyis went further west than their companions and are today known as the Baoulé.

Today the Anyis live mainly in the area once known as the Kingdoms of Sanwi and Indene. They also inhabit Zanzan in Ivory Coast and there are small populations in Ghana.

What African custom/tradition does he always follow?:
Religion
He follows the Anyi peoples' religion, a traditional belief. In this belief, living one's life so that one will be remembered and respected as an ancestor is vital. Their religious system is based upon the continued honoring of those long gone. When one's time has come, there is a certain, complex ritual. This involves, dressing the deceased in fine garments and gold jewelry to be laid in state for up to three days, ritual washing, and a mourning period to allow the community to show their respect for the deceased to make sure they'd be welcome into the Spirit World.
Family
To marry a suitor must provide three things: O-Bla-kale : financial assistance for education maintenance of the bride Adyia-tila : to purchase the trousseau Be-ti-sika : binds the girl and her parents

Adultery is frowned upon and at one time people would be banished from villages due to it and even put to death.

Name:

Kalka ~ From the Aboriginal language, meaning livley.

Which African tribe did he come from?:

Kalka comes from the Swahili tribes of South Africa. ^u^

What African custom/tradition does he always follow?:

Being Swahili is inextricably connected to being Muslim. Swahili Muslims recognize the five pillars of faith that are basic to Islamic practice worldwide: 1) belief in Allah as the Supreme Being and in Muhammad as the most important prophet; 2) praying five times a day; 3) fasting from dawn to dusk during the month of Ramadan; 4) giving charity; and 5) making a pilgrimage (hajj) to the holy city of Mecca, if feasible. For Swahili people, Islam encompasses more than just spiritual beliefs and practices; Islam is a way of life.

Edit; Silly me forgot my username ;u;

Whats in a Name}
My username is Purr. Nice to meet you! I don't have any beans yet but I tried out for #368 c:

I think this adorable little guy should be named Añuli, which means "joy" in Igbo, one of the many languages spoken in Western Africa. When looking at this bean, I can tell that his personality should be that he's very joyful!

The Tribe}
Añuli is a part of the Igbo tribe, located in Western Africa.

A main part of the Igbo culture is performing arts. This tribe is very intent on keeping music important in their evey day lives, and has an interesting music style in which various percussion instruments are incorporated. One instrument that Añuli enjoys playing is called an Udu, essentially designed from a clay pot. Another tradition Añuli participates in is masking. This tribe makes many different masks, some measuring 12 feet high!
