Story:
The sky was a gray-ish blue, the clouds giving off slight rays of the sun as it snuck through each crack. It was a quite calm day if one would say; the mountains were clear, and only a slight breeze exisited on this particular afternoon. Not far up the mountain existed a very petite herd; which was made up of one stallion, his mare and their offspring. The bay was very protective of his small harem and loved them dearly for the most part, but his main focus had always been on his little unique coloured filly.

Glimmer galloped through the small area her parents had set out for her as their territory. The energetic filly bounded with joy, enjoying the slight rush she got with the wind pressing against her face, so cold it made her eyes well up. She slowed her pace a little, bucking out just enjoying her simple life before halting, hearing her name echo across the wind. ''Glimmer! Glimmer, where are you?'' a familar voice beckoned out, making her retreat her steps. Glimmer piped out, ''Over here ma' I will hurry back'' she managed to say before again her voice was drowned out by the wind.
Once the little foal had reached her destination she gave out a little whinny to her sire and dam, announcing her expected arrival. ''Ah, there you are my little girl'' her sire spoke, his voice deep and wise sounding. His gaze rested on his little girl, his expression a slight tight smile. ''My dear.. he began to speak again, ..Your mother and I have decided it is time we head down the mountain this time of year.. It's getting much too cool to stay at this altitude'' he finished his sentence, his stance a bit more straight than before.
Glimmer sighed, a small frown appearing on her small muzzle. Her tail that was high before drooped low in a bit of saddness. ''Must we..?'' the filly softly spat out, her glance was on the rocky ground they were standing on. Then her dam came over and nuzzled Glimmer's sire, turning her gaze on her daughter. ''I'm afraid so. It's time you explore more of the world rather than this small territory we have set up.'' her mother spoke, her tone was smooth and comforting; Glimmer knew then the voyage wouldn't be all that bad. Sighing, she set her gaze up at her parents, finally nodding in approval.
Down the mountain the three travelled; they kept walking, with the rare stop to rest their energy; until they reached the fields of below. Glimmer gazed around at the new world that was presented before her; land of green stretched before her with the occassional grey of rock or the pillar of a tree. The young foal was stunned that such a beautiful place existed. This would be a good place, and she could get accustomed to it easily she thought. This would be a good winter.
