It's a book about a border collie named Danny, and this is a thread that has border collies, one of which is named Danny, so it's not all that off-topic. ;3 I've never read the book in full, but I've flipped through it at work a couple of times. I know it's very well thought of, and it has a great message to it, too - hopefully it'll encourage more kids to get involved with animal shelters. ^^

I'm going to be helping out at a no-kill shelter soon. ^-^ I've never read the book, though.

Another great dog book is The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. The best book I have ever read. It's really deep, though. But it's about a boy named Edgar Sawtelle, who is mute. His family raises this dogs called "Sawtelle dogs" that had been in his family for 2 generations. The dogs are a bunch of mixes between some of the smartest, and most well put together. I won't give it away, but it's a great book.
