She was found abandoned in a fenced-in field; how did she get there/why was she there?

How did she get there/why was she there?: One day, Beauty strayed away from her desert herd. She decided that she wanted a new life, something more exciting. So she pranced over the desert for a while, until she reached a patch of grass and laid down to rest. She woke up temporarily due to a sudden jolt of pain, then dropped off again.

When she woke up, she could feel a small needle in her flank. It hurt a bit when she nudged at it with her horns. Once she had identified the strange object, she got up to her feet and looked around. She was in a small field, full of grass. There was a small pond in the middle. She waded half way into the water. It felt great around her rather sore legs. A little fish came up and nipped her delicate tail. At that, she promptly tore apart over the pond in an attempt to stomp her little attacker. When she had finally wore herself out, she sensed something behind her and turned around. There was a strange thing upright on 2 feet walking towards her with a large hunk of leather and something stringy in the other hand.

While she was watching the odd creature, she hardly noticed the silent "whirrrr" of the lasso until it was around her neck. By then, she was trying to run at full speed in the other direction, but the loop was choking her. Instead, she turned around and thrust her horns into her captor's jeans. He let out a scream, and let go of the rope. The one man dropped the items he was holding and ran over to the one man. Before she knew it, she was alone in the field once again. But no one ever came for her again.
