▪ Paragraph or Art: Looking up at the sky, she saw only a creamy gray color. It brought a smile to her face, she loved when the sky became this way. Seeing as it was her favorite time of day she figured she'd celebrate by sitting under a tree, alone, to read and reflect on the beauty within the world. She walked, staying near to the hiking path, in search of the perfect tree. Finally she found it, the one tree that matched her definition of beauty. It was a tall tree, still holding plenty of leaves. The leaves were beginning to resemble a deep scarlet color she loved seeing, with a small pile that seemed to have fallen just for her to get comfortable on. She sat on the pile, gently so she didn't hurt the leaves, and leaned her head against the tree. Closing her eyes she took a deep breath through her nose, taking in the scent of the beautiful evening she found herself in.A small rustle was heard from the bushels to her right. Slowly, as if not to disturb whatever it was, she crept over and inspected the noise. It was a small animal caught in a trap, trying to break free. She gently shushed it and reached out to help. The animal seemed frightened at first but then allowed her help. She got the netting off of the gentle bird and held it close to her, checking for injury. "Good, you seem fine." She whispered, a smile on her face. She held out her hands, arms stretched full, and released her soft hold on the bird. It flew away, spreading it's wings in freedom. It flew to a herd of wolf like creatures. It flew to a scarlet one, resembling the color of the leaves. It spoke in a sing song voice. "I am here to tell of a new human, a kind human. She saved my life. I was caught in a net like trap set by the greedy humans. She reached out and helped me. Before she let me fly she checked to be sure I was okay and had no injuries. I believe she's one of the good ones we can count on to protect us." With that the bird flew away. Cadite watched the human the small bird spoke of, from a distance and silently. He saw good in her. She was gentle toward nature and the animals, unlike most humans. He grew to believe the bird and prayed she would protect the Whelkon.
