name:
Rio, named after Rio de Janeiro, the second largest city of Brazil. I imagine a beautiful bird would live their, so I think the name Rio is perfect for this little munchkin c:

short story under 800 words:
"Time for bed, Rio." Mother's voice reached his ears, making him look up from building his 'castle'. "But I havn't finished yet." He chirped, flattening his ears as he smiled. "You can finish your fort in the morning." Mother soothed, brushing the young Bean into bed with her tail. He nestled under the blankets, peeking out from the sheets to peer at his mom. "Tell me a story, about the Birds of Rio." Mother smiled, the edges of her mouth curling upwards as she thought about the tale of the bright birds. "But you've heard it many times, my dear. You know how it begins and ends." The Jelly Bean Dragon twitched his ears. "But I love it, mum. It's wonderful. Please?" Mother sighed in defeat.
"Once, long ago in the forests of Rio de Janeiro, the most beautiful place in the world, there lived birds." "But not just any birds." Rio quirked, wiggling his toes.
"Yes, not just any birds. But birds with feathers so beautiful, so enchanting, they could make you live in that forest forever. With feathers of bright gold and blue and green, orange and yellow, purple and pink, and even colors our eyes havn't seen. They flew through the forests, casting rainbow shadows across the ground, and making the world a better place. Once a Jelly Bean Dragon wandered into the forest, with the name-"
"Tullo." Rio breathed. Mother nodded, grinning. Her little bean knew this story by heart, yet insisted she tell it.
"Tullo saw a big, black crow, ugly and beastly, flying towards the beautiful birds he loved so much. Tullo leaped at the crow, tackling him to the ground, and the crow panicked and flew off, scared of such a mighty Jelly Bean Dragon. The birds of the forest thanked Tullo for saving them from the Crow. They blessed him by giving him the colors of the most beautiful bird there. Tullo was so happy, he trotted back to his home to show the other beans his new colors."
"And Tullo passed his colors down, right?"
"Yes, little Rio. He passed his colors down all the way to you. Thats how you got your beautiful pelt. Now get to bed, little one. Dream of the birds of Rio. Goodnight, my little warrior."

five words to describe him:
Memorable, Adventureous, Artistic, Effervescent, Radiant

(Fun bonus! 8D) Any suggestions for new JBD designs?

A music-themed Bean? I think that would be awesome.

    --Cabbage-Patch
    short story under 800 words:
    --Once upon a time, there was bean named Cabbage Patch. He loved to romp around outside in the cold winter months, playing in the snow. He was good at making bird-friends, but not bean-friends. Because he was bad at making bean-friends, Cabbage-Patch spent a lot of time alone in the snow with only his birdie friends.
    One bright, wintery day, Patch went outside and to the *jam's local neighbor hood hill. There he tried to make a few friends, but sadly failed. The other beans laughed at him for spending so much time with the birds, so he had to leave. With of sadness, he went to the other side of the hill. He was surprised to find a large old evergreen tree he had never seen before. Walking over to the odd, tall green tree he sat down beside it and started to cry. To his surprise, a small birdy peeped and hopped out of the branches.
    Sniffling, Cabbage Patch smiled at the little bird and extended a paw for the bird to join him. To his great surprise and joy, the bird hopped on his arm and then his back! Finally happy to have a friend, he walked off to the edge of the hill with his new best bud on his back. Together, they played in the snow all weekend... But when Monday came, Cabbage was saddened to see the snow melted and gone.
    Where had his bird friend gone? Looking about, his heart swelled with dread as he couldn't find him... He had left with the snow. From then on, Patch had made sure to keep an eye out for his friend every winter, and as they both grew he was excited to see his bird have little chicks of his own. Every winter, Patch goes out into the snow and hunts for his friend and their small family....

    The End

short story under 800 words:

"No, you can't jump on the furniture! Specks and Drea will get angry at me again! They never believe me when I say you did it," Tirka pouted, the fluff on his neck puffing out in annoyance. His friend, Kirsten, never listened to him; this is one of many things that Tirka absolutely hated about his friend.
"Your lack of a sense of humour astounds me. You always say you're so funny!" Kirsten seemed to hiss at him. Kirsten was one of those annoying kids; high-pitched voice, nagging tone, a superiority complex.... everyone hated him. In fact, although he was universally hated, the only person who hated Kirsten more than Tirka was Specks, Tirka's adopted older brother.
"Why don't you just go away! You always do horrible things when you're here. And I don't even like you..." Tirka whined at his "friend". Kirsten, surprisingly, obeyed and walked out with a huff. Tirka was then left to his own devices; to finally be at peace. Of course, he would first have to clean the mess that his "friend" had made. The pillows of the couch were thrown about the room, a vase knocked over, and a family portrait (containing only Specks, Tirka, and Drea but not Tirka's twin brother) was cracked during Kirsten's "playing". Whilst cleaning the debris, Tirka's twin brother, Mias appeared.
"You shouldn't have to clean this mess. Drea is the one who let's Kirsten be here; let her clean it," Mias hissed at his brother. Mias was identical to Tirka but had Golden flaming eyes. He was also much more cruel.
"NO. Drea takes good care of us.... You're just mean, that's why you're not in any of our pictures!" Tirka screamed. He then ran out of the room, leaving the mess, into a room that his family called "The Calming Room". "Tirka needed to be calm. This is what he needs," replied in a monotone voice within his mind. He curled up into a ball, murmuring the phrase both out-loud and in his mind.

.:SEVERAL HOURS LATER:.

Drea and Specks return from a shopping trip. They arrive to find the house in ruins, the portrait having being drawn on, and Tirka murmuring once again in his room. "Third time this month," Drea would murmur to the doctor on the phone. "He says that Mias and Kirsten were over... Mias drew himself into the portraits, he said," she would say in hushed tones. "Doctor, he hasn't gotten better.... Can I still do this?" she would ask, not the doctor, not herself, but to God.

five words to describe him: (SPOILERS FROM STORY)

~ Cheerful
~ Slightly Awkward
~ Klutzy

(Fun bonus! 8D) Any suggestions for new JBD designs? Hmm, I have always thought that, being the history nerd I am, JBD's based off historical places or landmarks (such as Marien-Platz in Germany or The Coliseum of Rome). On a side note, these things should not just b a plain/natural colored JBD with the landmark plastered on them- The JBD should be more natural looking (natural JBD looking so no cutie mark like things) and simply based off of the landmark. So perhaps if you were to do the Leaning Tower of Pisa, a JBD with stone-pattered fur and a permanently tilted/crooked-tail.

username;;
'ello! my username is Blondie.
name;;
I'd name this fella Barley.
short story;;
Barley's Secret Lake
Barley's fur blew in the wind as he raced among the tall trees, a loud laugh coming from his mouth. He chased the bird, jumping up and missing the bird by a few inches. He means no harm, he's interested in it's colorful feathers and small eyes. He's always wondered what it was like to just fly away, soar up in the clouds. The bird swooped down, and then flapped up again, as if taunting the young dragon. It had an air of grace to it as it flew, looking as if it was gliding. Barley followed the bird to a meadow with a single crystal blue lake. Barley gasped, taking cautious and hesitant steps toward it. Small rocks and gravel dug into his paws, but he barely noticed. He looked down in the water, seeing small goldfish swim and scurry away from his shadow. He laughed softly as he sat down, his tail curling up by his paws. The bird swooped down and nestled on his furry head, pecking softly. Barley giggled as the pecking started to tickle his skin. The bird stopped and started chipring, as if humming a soft tune. Barley let a sigh escape his mouth as he closed his eyes, enjoying the relaxation. He layed down and rested his head on his paws, falling asleep to the soft chirp of the bird.

five words to describe Barley;
adventorous, quiet, silly, creative, intellegent.
JBD suggestions;
I'd honestly love to see more natural, simple designs. I personallt love grey, tans, and brown shades with very simple yet lovable designs.

Story key: Rocco Soul(Me) Wispa

username: Nonsense

name: Rocco

short story under 800 words: I may add onto this. Not sure yet.
Dirbs eat bonuts I began to write such a complex story formed in my mind. It's simply fantastic what the head of a Jellybean Dragon can create. The sky is not the limit; when there's a whole universe of possibilities. Ah, the thoughts of etcetera, so much . . . freedom to it. Don't you think? So fascinating. Oh goodness! Lost in myself again. I do this much to often, it's interesting though, I seem to think aloud some times even. You can get a good laugh out of it too.

"Haha!" Gosh darn it, her laugh irritated me so. "Birds eat donuts. B's and D's are wrong. You're dyslexia has you tied up in quite some knot." Soul's brain was pitiful. I took observations of how she enjoyed to laugh and make a mockery of my every being. She seems so full of herself sometimes I can't stand it. "Let me show you." She erased my sentence and wrote it correctly. I didn't say anything, I let my anger get the best of me. I'm so foolish at times.

"Come now Soul. He's just doing his best." Wispa's sweet smooth chocolate voice appeared next to me, I felt a little better. "After all, he needs to improve on his reading skills as well." I straightened my back and looked at Wispa. Here she was, defending me and then breaking me down! The irony. "I'm just fine! See, Soul didn't even write it right. It says Dirbs eat donuts- wait." Gah! Am I serious? I'm making my self a humiliation to the JBD race! But this gets them laughing. And I'm here to sit. I'm surrounded by idiots. I may seem to think intelligently and explain everything perfectly fine in my head, but when I do speak everything turns to mush.

five words to describe him: Defensive, intelligent, misunderstood, dyslexic, and caring.

(Fun bonus! 8D) Any suggestions for new JBD designs? Sweet cream colors. c: More males too ^u^

I’d say it was about a month ago…no wait 2 months. Tissue and I were going on a trip together, if you didn’t know we are best friends! Well anyway we were on a trip to Maracaibo, one of my species’ native lands. We went to visit some of the birds that looked like me, you know those Green Jays. We were there for a while then we decided to just do a road trip to all my native lands. My favorite place was Venezuela defiantly! Well yea Venezuela is big…ok my most specific favorite place was…probably Valencia I guess. We also went to Bogota, Cali, Medellin, and even Aruba! It had taken about 2 years though, but boy it was fun especially since I had Tissue there the whole time! Wouldn’t you love it if you went on your dream vacation with your best friend? Well I know I loved it. Well I told you about my dream vacation but I want to tell you about my relationships with my friends now! My best friend in the entire world is Tissue, duh. She is a girl but she is the most epic girl ever! She is an Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog. Well my other friends…actually I am gonna call ‘em family. My ‘family’ consists of a lot of people, so keep up. There is Windy, Sky, Lucky, Carlos, Bunneh, Cubix, Glitchy, and Rebeccan Blood. Also there is Yun, Liam, Artemis, Sún, Lobi, Liegion the Dragon, and Liegion the wolf, but not forgetting to mention Airi the hawk…don’t be fooled it’s a girl. They are all to wonderful and special to me! I guess now I can tell you my hobbies and strengths. Well, I like reading, drawing, learning fascinating things, and going on adventures! I am really smart, or so I’m told. I am a decent artist but doodling just comes along. I also love writing stories! I hope you enjoyed my babbling!

five words to describe him: Smart, adventurous, cute, energetic, fun-loving
any suggestions for new JBD designs? I would love to see some jbds like this one! Based off of real animals! Like red pandas, tree swallows, bears, tigers, wolves, or even cats! Also maybe JBDs based off of anime characters with the gravity defying hair x3

username: Wingedwolf
name: Mio (i was at the grocery store today and i saw those little bottles of that mio drink stuff which i have never tasted and it just popped into my head and i thought it would be a good name for him)
short story under 800 words: It all started when I was on vacation in Kona, Hawaii and spotted something bright and colorful in a tree. Curious, I went to go look and see what it was. I looked up and up into the humongous tree. And... Crack! One of the tree branches had broken and fallen on me. I screamed slightly. I was already kind of weirded out when I looked down and found the brightly colored creature I'd been looking for at my feet. It obviously wasn't a bird. But could it be what I thought it was? Long and fluffy fur, very colorful, pouch on it's belly... It had to be! "Jellybean dragon..." I muttered amazed.
I must have been right about the species, because the little guy looked up at me with his big blue eyes when I said that. “So… you are a jellybean dragon?” I asked him, not sure whether he would understand me. He nodded quickly. I bent down. “Hey little buddy,” I smiled. “What were you doing up in that tree?” He grinned cheekily… or at least, that’s what it looked like to me. “Silly little guy,” I whispered to him. I reached down to pet him. He let me and soon I was gently stroking his head.
After a couple minutes, I looked at him and said, “Are you hungry, little buddy?” He nodded shyly. “Ok, well, let’s go get you some food.” I picked him up and brought him back to where my family was staying. I opened up the cupboard. “Ok, so… we have water for you to drink,” I said as I poured some in a bowl for him. “And Jellybean dragons eat fruit, so… want an orange?” He smiled. I set the food down at his feet.
He took one look (and sniff) at the bowl of water and pushed it away from him. “What’s wrong?” I asked. He looked towards the fruit bowl on the counter. “Ok,” I said. “You want something fruitier?” He nodded. I looked in the fridge to find that we were fresh out of juice. “Ok, no juice,” I said. “Let’s try the cupboard.” I began to search the cupboards for something to put in the water to make it taste sweeter.
I had searched all the cupboards without success but I couldn’t reach the top one. “Help me out?” I asked the dragon sitting on the floor. I picked him up and set him in the top cupboard. He disappeared for a second and then poked his head back out, holding a bottle of… something called Mio. I lifted him back down and took the tiny bottle from him. “Looks ok,” I said. “Let’s try it out.” I squirted some of the fruit punch flavoring into his bowl of water and mixed it in. I set the bowl back down next to his orange peel (he had gobbled up the fruit while I was raiding the cupboards). He took a whiff and a taste.
As soon as he tasted it he sucked the entire bowl back. “Whoa, you really like that stuff,” I smiled. He grinned, his snout stained red. I laughed at the sight. “Ok, little buddy... what now?” I asked him. “I have to stop calling you that, you need a name…” He agreed with me by nodding. “How about…” I thought for a while. My eyes wandered around the kitchen until they spotted the tiny bottle of Mio sitting on the counter. “Mio!” I said loudly.
I looked to him for approval. He thought for a bit and then nodded quickly. “Mio it is then,” I laughed. Mio grinned back at me.
Five words to describe him: Adventurous, humorous, geeky, colorful, outdoorsy

(Fun bonus! 8D) Any suggestions for new JBD designs? i think a wolf design would be really cool... i would so try out for it. Um... one that looks like it has a whispy tree on it. A JBD that looked really absent minded would be kinda cool.... :mrgreen:

name: To-ku (Japanese for talk)

short story under 800 words:

"The Jellybean dragon can never keep his mouth shut.
He seems more bird than dragon sometimes.
"

The young Jellybean dragon covered his ears. No one ever listens to me, why don't they care? Why should they care? To-ku opened an eye burning with tears. Jellybean dragons walked by him, but this was a common sight and just passed him, a couple might have even rolled an eye at him. (How am I supposed to know if an eye was rolled at him if he wasn't really watching them? xD) He didn't care anyhow.
He already knew...
that he was too..

Quiet.

Quiet. The word ruffled his fur. He rose to his feet and took tentative steps in a world of apparent sorrow.

wip x3

five words to describe him:
Talkative, "All-knowing", Creative, a little bit of a shorter fuse x3 but fun-loving

(Fun bonus! 8D) Any suggestions for new JBD designs?

-I would love to see more plain JBDs with colourful markings o3o
- I've seen a fall JBD but not a winter one! (Maybe two, one really depressing one and another that captures the fun of winter!)
- more wild JBDs!
- I really love the bird marking ones and JBDs with feather accessories.
-Oh! And more with Ram horns!

x3 I hope that's descriptive enough!
