short story under 800 words:
Why do leaves fall off trees in the autumn? Why does the wind blow? Why do birds fly south? These questions were the ones that a young Jellybean Dragon use to ask me often, he's gone now, following the birds, sailing the seas and trekking across deserts. This baby bean has been everywhere, all because he met her. She left, but he still is desperate to find her, wherever she has gone, wherever she may be.
Ever since Wassie was born, he was fascinated by the wanders of the world, the ocean, the sky, the land, he asked questions on it all. He was especially fond of birds, their feathers, their beaks and the way the wind lifts them. He would ask every year, 'Why are the birds leaving? Why can't they stay? I want them to stay.' They were everything to Wassie, he hated the idea of them leaving to head south. Why? Why did they leave him?
When Wassie was 8 years old, he found a injured bird, an amazing bird, of amazing colours. She stayed and perched in his room, her wing was healing slowly but surely. He and the bird were best of friends and it didn't take him long to realise that they looked like one another, their colouration and markings were similar in several aspects, he couldn't lose his friend.
But soon Wassie's friend was healed, she was ready leave, ready to head south for the coming winter. He did everything in his power to get her to stay. Why? Why must she leave? Why did she head south like the other birds? This was the day that little Wassie decided to say goodbye to his Jam and hello to the world of traveling. He tracked her, but soon she was lost, high in the clouds, hidden in mist, he knew he would find her, one way or another. But it was hard, days became weeks and weeks became months, soon enough those months became years.
But still, little Wassie hasn't returned, two years we have waited for out wanderer to come home, but still no sign of the fellow. Maybe we should give up on waiting, but no, we won't, we will wait for the fighter to come back. Back to his home.
What happened to him? Why has he not returned like the other birds? When will he be back? Who will he bring with him? These are the questions that are often asked around the Jam, he is the little fighter that we all miss.
-----------
I sent a letter home, I don't think it got to them though. I shall be back soon, atleast I hope I will. I found Birdie, she's with me now. I wonder if they'll be proud of me, what I have become over the past two years. The humans are supportive, especially this one human female, she will sit and talk to me until I fall asleep at night. She wrote an extra copy of my letter for me, so that if my family do not receive the letter, I have a spare. Sadly we do not have spare hearts, I hope I haven't broken theirs. I wish that they will be happy to see me home and safe.
My dear Jam,
This is Elvis Watercolour, or Wassie, the bean that left two year ago. I hope you still remember me, I hope you still remember I love you all. I will be home soon, me and Birdie and the humans. They have been a great help, I hope you let them stay with us. I know that it has been a long while and that people change, I hope you understand that I won't be the same curious Bean I was when I left, but I am just as fun and curious. Well, that's what the humans say anyway.
I have to stop writing now, I will send another letter soon if I find more paper.
Love, Wassie xxx
Now we know why leaves change in the Autumn, and why the birds fly South for Winter.

Unique
Notorious
(Fun bonus! 8D) Any suggestions for new JBD designs? A scruffy, maybe elderly bean? Maybe some feline based or plain JBDs? Or atleast simple, easy ones?
(The letters are bold for a reason ^^)
