He just strikes me as an ethereal being with close ties to the land around him. He would have a deep respect for the natural world around him, whether plant or animal, large or small. I can imagine that Lisa Kelly is singing about hearing his voice on the wind, teaching her (representing humanity) how to respect the natural world around her (or them) through him.
